Live blog: Georgia Tech-Maryland
Greetings –
A few thoughts on Georgia Tech-Maryland.
1. Obviously, how Maryland quarterback Shawn Petty can do is going to have a large impact on the outcome. Look for Georgia Tech to stick just about everybody in the box.
2. Tevin Washington will start. I’d guess both play a lot in the first half.
3. Kind of breezy. That could mean less passing than normal for both sides. This game could be over in 2:45.
4. Don’t know if you saw it, but Miami may self-impose a bowl ban to pacify the NCAA. Story from the Sun-Sentinel here. If that happens – Miami won’t make an announcement until it becomes bowl eligible – it would mean that if Tech wins today and Virginia Tech loses this Thursday to Florida State, the Jackets would control their own destiny in the Coastal Division. Crazy.
5. Tiny crowd. Maryland won’t get much of a lift at home, it doesn’t appear.

Md’s D may already be wearing down. Their O not helping at all. I just want to see the team play a full 4 quarters….let’s get em down & keep the gas floored until about 20 minutes left & let the subs play.

Good drives by Lee there. Top 3 backs imo so far:
1. Robbie Godhigh: amazing blocking
2. David Sims: amazing blocking
3. Orwin Smith: great blocking and shifty running.
Offense looks so much better when blocking is great.

1st half was great against BC and then they let off the gas in the second half and got too conservative. That carried over into the BYU game. Hopefully PJ learned his lesson.

We finally get the ball back after the blown call on the previous punt…it was partially blocked & the ref missed. Why else would #11 be sitting there clapping his hands after deflecting the ball to the punter’s right. Should have been a nom call & CPJ knew it.

I just noticed the uniforms. Good look!! Stick with that helmet & pants & jack around with jerseys as long as they don’t get anywhere close to the Maryland or Oregon radicalism. I wouldn’t even mind seeing black or dark blue jerseys on occasion.
