Live blog: Georgia Tech-Maryland
Greetings –
A few thoughts on Georgia Tech-Maryland.
1. Obviously, how Maryland quarterback Shawn Petty can do is going to have a large impact on the outcome. Look for Georgia Tech to stick just about everybody in the box.
2. Tevin Washington will start. I’d guess both play a lot in the first half.
3. Kind of breezy. That could mean less passing than normal for both sides. This game could be over in 2:45.
4. Don’t know if you saw it, but Miami may self-impose a bowl ban to pacify the NCAA. Story from the Sun-Sentinel here. If that happens – Miami won’t make an announcement until it becomes bowl eligible – it would mean that if Tech wins today and Virginia Tech loses this Thursday to Florida State, the Jackets would control their own destiny in the Coastal Division. Crazy.
5. Tiny crowd. Maryland won’t get much of a lift at home, it doesn’t appear.

Washington was totally tuned in during that last drive. Just one bad play, and that was due to a busted OL block.

No one will be at the Duke game to boo him so it will be ok. More people will be at the opening basketball game on Friday than at that Duke game.

I concur on Senior Day. Last game @ BDS for 12 guys….6 starters….let them have their day in the Sun. Anyone near me booing will be told to shut up & sit down!

@ibidGT: Honestly, if there’s any offense that could constantly go for two point conversions and get, it’s ours. We’re best on 3 or less yard situations.

Not a bad idea. Even if you miss half of them, you’d have the same number of points as you would with 100% XP accuracy.

Preperation and attitude is the issue at Tech. I just cannot believe BYU is a better defensive team than Maryland. The kids showed up ready to play today, better save some for UNC.

We bought into CPJ’s TO because he had above average players that could beat average defenses. Not sure we’ll see that happen again.
