Live blog: Georgia Tech-Maryland
Greetings –
A few thoughts on Georgia Tech-Maryland.
1. Obviously, how Maryland quarterback Shawn Petty can do is going to have a large impact on the outcome. Look for Georgia Tech to stick just about everybody in the box.
2. Tevin Washington will start. I’d guess both play a lot in the first half.
3. Kind of breezy. That could mean less passing than normal for both sides. This game could be over in 2:45.
4. Don’t know if you saw it, but Miami may self-impose a bowl ban to pacify the NCAA. Story from the Sun-Sentinel here. If that happens – Miami won’t make an announcement until it becomes bowl eligible – it would mean that if Tech wins today and Virginia Tech loses this Thursday to Florida State, the Jackets would control their own destiny in the Coastal Division. Crazy.
5. Tiny crowd. Maryland won’t get much of a lift at home, it doesn’t appear.

@ DawgNole…….I have to hand it to you. I don’t remember having good thoughts about you in the past (although I may be confusing you with somebody else), but you have been a class act today, and I for one really appreciate that.

I know of no other DawgNole, except for the occasional imposter. You and I tangled a couple of years ago, but have managed to keep it pretty civil since then–and that’s never a bad thing. As I’ve said many times, I’ve always pulled for the Jackets except when they play the Dawgs or Noles. I’ve been a big CPJ fan as well–simply because he was able to win with an “unconventional” offense. I do think he needs to put more emphasis on the passing and defense, though, or you guys won’t get much better.

We have a penchant for playing down to the competition. Not really a big deal until you get caught looking with your pants down like we did at SC. Georgia’s defense is likely the most talented and underperforming D in the country.

Overall, the guys looked pretty good. Still a few lapses, but the opposing players might have contributed to those. Lots of room for improvement still. They seemed to fairly well focused and playing with some fire. I’ll take it over the alternative any ole day & twice on Sunday. They just need to continue to grow. There is a definite difference in team when Vad is in. The defense seemed somewhat more alive then too. I am encouraged for the future. Which begins next week in

Congrats Jackets!!!!!! Saw some really good things today in a lot of areas. Lots of intensity. Lots of heart. Kicking game sucks.

this is not an isolated instance. i could come up with many instances of this . when he does it … it is a joke. when somebody else does it he is childish, or lacks humility or is a ‘little boy’.
