Ken, thanks again for the good work!

Couple of questions–
Injuries? Laskey, Snoddy, and will we ever see poor Fred Holton?

In an effort to improve the pass rush in passing situations, would CPJ consider a 4th D lineman ie DE and pull an inside linebacker. Leave Attacho and Watts to cover and pull one of the inside backers. He may not want to answer publicly.

thanks again!

Did anyone see the cheap shot the UNC linebacker put on the Duke receiver? Disgraceful! Right in front of the UNC bench and not one person from UNC’s sideline came to the Duke player’s aid.

We’ll need to be on the lookout for this stuff when we play them. That came from the coaching staff not an individual act by the player. Maybe they have bounties over at UNC now.

I agree with fuzzybee– 4 linemen is needed. He also needs to recruit 2 more DT in this class. It might not hurt every now and then rush 5, drop 2 and still have the 4 DB’s. We need pass rush, the DB’s will do fine if someone will get to the QB

D-Line– thank you sir!
Sneezy and Watts are not built to take on OTackles and get to the QB. They are trying but it aint happening. They cover well, I agree rush 5 and at least hurry the QB or we get picked apart.

fuzzyb………if it were me, I would run a mix of 4-3-4 & 5-2-4 defenses & play smash mouth knock’em on their keisters football at the point of attack….take a good hard legal move to the O blockers and find the ball ASAP!!!! And QB pressure, pressure, pressure!!!! D has need of more than than a dozen or so looks. TORA, TORA, TORA!!!!

BTW, TJ kinda showed me he is more than I had given him credit for Saturday. Dropping back into pass coverage & not too shabbily either & getting a solo tackle for loss. That in itself is kinda rare for a 3-4 NT. I do believe Groan’s Brainiac defense may have been holding everyone back after last week’s game. GOOOOO JACKETS THWGeorgie

I sure hope CPJ reads all of these excellent suggestions provided here.

I doubt he has never considered these options.

I assume Holton will be redshirted.. If he is, and if he is as good as reported, we should be much better at dback next year.

The UNC cheapshot on Duke’s best player has to be one of the dirtiest I ever seen — and no call from the refs. Does this mean you could go clobber the othe team’s qb as long as the ball was not in play? But we have to remember, these guys were recruited by good old Butch, one of the dirtiest coaches of all times.

I believe that CPJ does read these comments. He finally gave Vad some snaps last week early in the game. I also believe that Lee is a game time player. I was impressed with his skills on the first two drives. I would like to see him in the 4th quarter rather than Tevin.

Cut blocking has come to the NFL. Detroit TE took Chicago’s Peppers out with a great block right at his knees. It left a hole a mile wide.

Cut blocks have been in the NFL for years. 2 years ago on ESPN Jamie Dukes (former Falcon Oline) & Warren Sapp (former NFL Dline) demonstrated the blocking technique & how to prevent it. The SNF crew bragged about a “great” cut block springing a long run earlier in the season, on replays.

TORA TORA TORA—good one 1 4 GT. Yes we need a kamakaize LB on a mission to sink the QB. The deal on the 3-4 is that if you rush 5, you have 3 DLs and the other 2 can come from anywhere. We don’t seem to be too creative in that aspect, but we are in a do over mode on D. Hopefully, that will come soon. We simply rush Sneezy mano-a-mano against an OT where he’s giving up 60 lbs. Where’s the stunts where the DE goes outside and bring the OLB inside? Let’s not oversimplify.

In case CPJ or designated assistant does read these, then I will keep on saying to open up the offense and play call to the strengths of our personnel. TW does run the TO well so have him continue and have Vad run a spread option from the pistol—throwing short passes to A backs, shuttle passes, QB draws, etc. If Vad or TW makes a 20 or 30 yd run, then take them out for a couple of plays, no different than taking out an RB for a breather. Break the stigma/myth on having just one QB. We need to utilize the talent we have—e.g. use both TW and Vad as opposed to just one or the other as a starter.

Go Jackets, but kudos to Duke. Rewarded with a 7:30 Nationally televised game against Clemson.

I think Vad Lee played great Saturday and has a lot of potential, however, it is obvious that when he is in they aren’t running the full offense. I don’t understand the lack of resprect Tevin gets for his play among Tech fans. He has played very well this year.

It’ll be interesting when Vad is the starter next year and everyone is clamouring for Justin to get more playing time (the grass is always greener… I guess).

BB, did Auburn fans beg for Brandon Frasier when Cam Newton was starting? Did Baylor want #2 when RG3 was starting?
No one will be “clamouring” for #2 when Vad Lee is starting. You obviously know little to nothing about Vad Lee.
Expect to see the amazingly talented Justin Thomas elsewhere in the offense.Vad will take the offense next year, and he won’t look back.
