Georgia Tech long snapper Tyler Morgan will get his turn in the No. 40 jersey Saturday for the Miami game. He’ll be the fourth team member to wear the jersey in honor of former linebacker Julian Burnett, who suffered a career-ending neck injury in the Sun Bowl.
Morgan has been the team’s long snapper since his true freshman season in 2009 and earned the job back this year after a season-ending injury in the N.C. State game last year gave Sean Tobin an opportunity.
Thus far, nose tackle T.J. Barnes, cornerback Rod Sweeting and quarterback Tevin Washington have worn it. Among senior starters, A-back Orwin Smith and defensive end Izaan Cross are the only ones who have yet to wear it. The team’s seniors met last week to figure out the order for the remainder of the season.
Non-senior defensive starters are likely to be the first to have a chance to wear it following Morgan, Smith and Cross.

I agree with ‘40′! Tevin needs to wear #40 every week if he can play like he did against UVA.

in many ways Burnett was the glue that held the defence together last year. I was really worried about what would happen without him. Even when he is not on the field, I think his leadership has affected the current crop of LBs. They have performed great, I think we can thank JB for showing them the way and teaching them to step up.
keep up the good work number 40

I agree.
POAD and propaganda...

“Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes . As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience.
Nothing wrong with what you posted about Roddy and his analysis during the game, POAD, so why so hostile?

Propaganda….is usually considered to be spreading falsehoods to further an agenda.
I don’t think RODDY is spreading propaganda but Selling his SCHOOL.

Anybody looking towards UM? We owe those self-righteous toads. They seem to think they have a birthright to beat GT every year (just ask Warren Sapp). Let’s kick some presumptuous butts Saturday.

Awesome way to honor Julian Burnett – much deserved. It seems to be a big motivation factor. Does anyone know if he is still a Tech student?

and for what it’s worth, my take on propaganda is like what the mainstream media is doing trying to manipulate the election. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

All the propaganda the nation could produce about the greatness of Southern Cal could not generate a “W” against Stanford.
Tevin was great last year wearing thirteen against undefeated Clemson. Let’s change Tevin’s number to W and hang a half dollar on the Canes.
Q and Jemea put the Burnett back in the D on Saturday vs the Cavaliers. On fourth and gotta have it, Shawn Green took it away from UVa.
Miami fans are already making up excuses for Saturday. Hey, we’re GT, we don’t have D-1 athletes. Ask Coach London.
Come and get your beat down, weather boys.
