ESPN has exercised its six-day option on announcing a kickoff time for Georgia Tech’s Sept. 29 game against Middle Tennessee State. Tech has publicized the kickoff time as 7 p.m., but ultimately the decision on kickoff times for home games for ACC members rests with the ACC and ESPN.
The league has until Sunday at noon to announce the game time.
It most likely means that the game is being considered for broadcast beyond the online ESPN3.
Duke at Wake Forest, ACC Network, 12:30 p.m.
Idaho at North Carolina, RSN, 3:30 p.m.
Six-day option games
Clemson at Boston College (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU)
NC State at Miami (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU)
Middle Tennessee at Georgia Tech
Louisiana Tech at Virginia
Florida State at South Florida (ABC, ESPN or ESPN2)
Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU) (Fedex Field, Landover, Md.)

Makes no sense…NO way the GT/MTSU game is picked over any of the games listed except the Louisisana Tech/UVa game. All the others are at least BCS games. Guess its ESPN’s way of showing the POWER since the game time has been listed (step on our toes and we’ll make you sorry!) but no way it realistically gets picked by the network.

I don’t get it… help me out here Ken. What are the options? They 6-day optioned that weeks worth of games, right? So would they actually change our game even if it stayed only on ESPN3?

2012 the options are probably ACC Network, regional sports network or ESPNU. there can be more than one ACC Network and RSN game per week, apparently.
i confess i don’t know all that goes into that. so the choices would be 12/12:30, 3/3:30 or stay at 7. my guess would be that it stays at 7 and is on ESPN3, but my guesses aren’t worth very much.

Clearly ESPN is waiting to see which of the teams earns a ranking after this Saturday — ranked teams get airtime. If GT runs up the score on Miami and gets some attn, they’ll earn a ranking and some TV time. P.S. GT’s defense and offense are both in the top 20 — not 25, top 20. Too bad the voters don’t dig a little deeper to make their judgement.

I think it’s all about who have you played. We struggled offensively against a VT team that got beat by a Pitt team that hasn’t looked very good, and the rest of those stats are built against a UVA team we blew out and Presbyterian. Of course, almost every team’s stats so far are based on what they’ve done to creampuffs, so

(post continued…browser acting up) This really just is a symptom of the fact that it’s stupid to have polls determine the best teams in football, and it’s really stupid to vote on those polls before teams have played about 6 games.

Hey Super, I’m trying to stay off the AJC message boards. The Rumble Seat is better and no trolls. I let my nephews go to the UVA game. They had a blast! I plan on going to the “U” game unless something changes. I think 5150 is near the fire truck? I can’t remember…
I don’t do much “tailgating”…in fact I do not tailgate without a DD. Thoughts/prayers to 5150 and the detective.

@ BLT…..we have not been meeting at the fire truck, and UOAD joined us where we were Saturday. Whether you tailgate or not, you can still stop by and meet some of us. And actually, there has been very little drinking going on there—–just eating and talking and having fun meeting new friends. Love for you to join us. I have probably given you this before, but send me an email to my temporary address (supersizeorder@yahoo.com), and I will give you the details. Just try to offer some kind of “proof” to convince me that it is you emailing me, and not some troll. I will also check the Rumble Seat to see if I can find you there.

I know you guys that live near ATL want it to be at 7 and that would be alright, but since I have to watch it on TV I would love for it to get on RSN or TV in some capacity around 3:30 so I can still have a night.

VT seems to lose early every year to a D2 type school, Pitt fits that classification this year. Nothing to do with how they played us or how they will play Clemson and FSU. Hopefully poor, but they have history.
Love to see any time with mtsu as long as on tv. Up in Virginia and can’t get espn3.
