Tech in white vs. Virginia, Washington to wear No. 40
After testing out its blue jerseys last Saturday, Georgia Tech will wear white uniforms Saturday against Virginia. Virginia coach Mike London sent out a Twitter message Thursday that the Cavaliers have chosen to wear navy helmets and jerseys as the Jackets will wear white.
The uniforms are believed to be slightly different than the white outfits worn in the opener against Virginia Tech. The team practiced in its traditional gold helmets this week after wearing the white version prior to the first two games, which it then wore in the game.
Also, quarterback Tevin Washington will take his turn wearing the No. 40 jersey in honor of former linebacker Julian Burnett, according to a Twitter message from Tech spokesman Dean Buchan. It was Washington’s idea for team members to rotate the jersey to pay tribute to Burnett, who suffered a career-ending neck injury in the Sun Bowl. So far, nose tackle T.J. Barnes and cornerback Rod Sweeting have worn No. 40. Starting seniors Izaan Cross (defensive end) and Orwin Smith (A-back) will also get an opportunity to wear it, after which non-seniors will have an chance.

I am another one out of touch with the consensus. I like uniforms that give a nod to Tech’s earliest traditions when they often wore navy or mustard jerseys. In order of preference I like white jerseys with gold pants and gold helmets (Dodd years and Pepper Rogers years) navy blue jerseys with gold helmets (Bobby Ross and some of the very early Tech teams) and mustard jerseys with white helmets (Bud Carson and early Tech teams).

The pressure is on for the home team. If they don’t get it done, CPJ will be feeling the wrath of an impatient Jacket nation. That said, I see Tech rolling today. Shoulda won the VT game. We’re not a mediocre team this year. Jackets by 2 TD!

Are they getting TWash wearing #40 outta the way in case Vad keeps showing you what could be at QB? Hmmmmm….if he could take the snap cleanly under center each time he probably would be the starter. Have to say he looks impressive but TWash has the consistancy edge FOR NOW! How long who knows????

PLUS Syngyn Days cannot hold onto the football so he would be LAST on depth chart. Work on holding onto the ball Days and get time at A Back would give offense another good runner….BUT you are no good to the O if you cant hold onto the ball. Should do him like they did in the movie the program…make him tote a ball all over campus at all times.

That Old gold = dark mustard is a pukey color. It should be banished for life. In fact the color used by Teech a few years ago was really not old gold IMO. Check it out (N.O. Saints are “old gold”). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_%28color%29
Tech should trademark or patent a metallic gold color for use by the institute and GTAA. The range of yellows to orange to gold to mustards on Tech stuff is a problem. Standardize the color and use it exclusively, without exception.

Color wise we should be Black and Yellow like BUZZ! If not change Buzz to match the team.
It’s also YELLOW Jackets not Gold Jackets.
Just my opinion but we could look awesome in true Black and Yellow with the nest weaved in to either the helmet or jersey. TIRED of wearing white all the time too!!!
