How did Georgia Tech fall in overtime to Virginia Tech? What’s next for the Yellow Jackets after this opening week loss? CineSport’s Tara Petrolino and I discuss.

Dodd always said he’d rather be lucky than good, guess Beamer feels the same way today.

Tough loss. Defense went into hibernation in the last minutes of the game. Defense, not passing or the T-option wins games. Unless the defense can play a 60 minute game, GT will have to score 36 pts a game to win.

Little or no depth on defense and although will hit a pass now and then, one dimensional on offense loses to a good D every time. Time to feast on sorry football teams for a few weeks and rack up massive yards against div 2 type talent leading Tech types to pound their chest swearing to kill the next good team they face. Same story every year.

A great game between two average ACC teams.
Georgia Tech could be in for a long year. The offense did not look good. Paul Johnson got absolutely schooled. Its hard to say about the defense. Have they improved or is VT’s offense not that good? Probably a little bit of both. However, it sounds like Tech has some depth issues on D like always. It will catch up to them. Plus, I don’t think Georgia Tech has the guts to overcome a loss like that. That’s right. I said it.
Paul “New Sheriff In Town” Johnson: 1-4 vs. Virginia Tech…
And the beat goes on….

Tech folks. I’m not here to pour salt in the wound. Y’all should have won the game. I thought you had it.
I feel sorry for Washington who actually showed me a lot of improvement, especially on that late TD drive for the lead. He is a much better passer now than last year.

they are all tough Lex, we needed one more LB & one more DB….JB, there is one new wrinkle to this story-for years i have asking why we did not have more passing options, the pistol almost pulled it out…

I have a hard time throwing the D under the bus for this loss. They saved them after the failed 4th down attempt. There is plenty of blame to go around. Even the players that were on suspension can take part of the blame. They were sorely needed.
Good game adjustments by CPJ to widen the splits of the OL after the second series. It definitely opened up the running lanes. We really need a stud for B back to make this work. Laskey actually looked better than Perkins, but part of that was due to ZL benefiting from the wider splits of the OL I think. I really would like to see Snoddy in that position. He supposedly the fastest on the team. If he could hit that hole?????
Still no receptions to the WR. We need at least 2 per game just to keep everyone honest. Good pass blocking by the OL. Tev had time on a couple of throws. Glad to see Finch get back in on the next possession. That is the weakest depth on the OL. His back up looked soft. I think Finch also calls the OL blocking assignments.
I still think we can run the table the rest of the way to uga. Clemson will be tough. They are due.
I am not ready to throw out CPJ. I like the system. We are getting a little better at getting recruiting. Big OL studs coming in next class. Two excellent DL that are red shirting this year. I believe our record will be 10-2. I think we beat either Clemson or uga. Tough to believe that we get both. I think uga is more crucial to CPJ’s career. He has owned Clemson.
Uniforms? They are growing on me. I want to see them with the home gold pants.

Sweeting getting burned for the TD pass tainted and otherwise improved performance the the Defense I thought…………still needs to be a better push by the Dline. Was it just me, or did ESPN run more commercial breaks than both teams ran plays?………..uncalled for and pretty pathetic, to say the least.

Oh Ken…sequestered in a SW Virginia conference room at 2 AM (I am guessing) to do a 3 minute Cinesport interview.

Am I the only one who thought the O-line under-performed? Why blame the B-backs?
