New uniforms for Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech debuted new uniforms Monday night against Virginia Tech in its season opener, white jerseys and white pants with a white helmet. The uniform carries a hexagonal pattern throughout the uniform, a nod to the adjoining hexagonal cells of yellow jacket nests.
“I always like something different,” A-back B.J. Bostic said. “It’s different. It’s unique.”
The numerals are navy with the hexagonal pattern. Panels on the side of the pants and sleeves are gold, also with the hexagonal look. According to a news release from the school, the jerseys have “lower mesh insert on front and back for ultimate breathability.”
The team saw the uniforms for the first time Monday when they arrived at Lane Stadium.

I hate change too, but its opening game, Labor Day Night on National TV. These are not bad, take a look at what UGA did last year, or the crap that maryland was wearing.

Watching the game, the helmuts look plain white. No surprise to this reporter. Even in the above picture w/ the camera about 5′ away, you can’t see the design.

Don’t hate them, but the hexagonal pattern looks more like a honey-bee hive at first glance than a yellow jacket nest. To be fair, I think the VT uniforms don’t look great either (but those aren’t new, I don’t think). Overall, you can’t really SEE anything special about them on TV, just looks white and a little bit of gold…

Uniforms are cool! Besides, they are NOT permanent, so why all the whining? It’s just a novelty… and they really look good on the field under the lights…
Not to mention that our ‘traditional’ uniforms weren’t winning us any games either… so I say, if it motivates the kids on the field, then let it ride!

Not a big fan of the white helments although they didn’t look bad with the white uniforms. In past years, Tech has worn white tops at home. Is that still the plan for this year with colored pants? Uni’s werent all that bad. As I said last week, I am a traditionalist but those weren’t too bad. The defense did very well considering they were missing a few players and lack depth (according to what was said on TV). Tech played well and lost a tough game.

Didn’t think unis could get more henous than ones UGA had last year vs. Boise State, but GT surpassed those on the ugly scale
Design isn’t awful per se, its just that “old gold” and white are horrid colors
The hexagon design could be cool in black or grey, give almost a carbon fiber look
If numbers were solid not hex that would help too
Even Oregon or Maryland would be ashamed to wear …
