New helmets for Georgia Tech?
Multiple Georgia Tech players posted Twitter pictures of a helmet that may see action on Monday night in the season opener against Virginia Tech.
“We do have a second helmet that we have to wear a few times in practice in case we want to wear it during the season,” Tech spokesman Dean Buchan said.
Quarterback/A-back Synjyn Days tweeted a photo of the helmet with the message “New helmets … Lets Get It 9/3.” (The photo below is from his account.)
The helmet is white with adjoining hexagons, creating a yellow jacket nest motif. It is a rather significant departure from Tech’s traditional gold helmet and is an answer to the cries of many fans and some players for a fresher look. Tech will wear its white road uniform with blue trim.
“I just feel like we need to come up with some Russell combat uniforms or something,” Days said last week.

Ugly/horrible, untradtional, and with no Tech logo!!! I can’t believe that the school/athletic department would vote for or allow such a product. I hope it’s discarded VERY SOON, hopefully before it ever makes it on to the playing field .

Helmet design ain’t never won a football game, so leave it up to the players. They just need to make sure they keep them on. Was scary last year the way helmets kept flying off. Understand refs will be rigidly enforcing the chin strap rules.

I’m a Dawg. Usually couldn’t care less what happens at Tech. However, Tech is supposed to always wear the gold helmet and the white GT. That’s just the way it’s supposed to be. Don’t mess with tradition.

it looks better than ,what they been wearing ,if they play better its fine by me.I do like the old gold helmets and uniforms much better. i think there will be a gold GT on the side.they could wear trashbags, and it would still look better than uga ’s power rangers outfits ,in the season opener last year.
