Supersize prediction for the season.
@ Headless…..that was actually a fairly intelligent post for you. I don’t agree with your results, but that’s beside the point; it’s still a decent assessment. This, however, is my rundown on the season —
Va Tech (toss-up, but very likely GT win)
Blue Hose (Win)
Miami (DEFINITE WIN)
Clemson (probable loss, but Tech does have their number)
UNC (Probably win by Tech, but I will never forget 1990)
UGA (WIN, but close)
Bowl (Depends on the opponent—hopefully a win)
August 27th, 20121:13 pm
Va Tech WIN
Blue Hos WIN
ACC CG WIN
Nat’l Campion WIN
August 27th, 20121:18 pm
That would be impressive.

Dreaming here… You guys have to remember
Washington does NOT equal Nesbit!!!
Had Nesbit been healthy that VT game 2 years ago yall would have won!! And I dare say beaten us as well…
No way that yall have the Horses that Gaileys Classes had..

Why can’t Synjyn move to B-Back? And who do you think will be QB #1 next year? Synjyn with the experience, Vad because of his passing, or will we have a 4-year Justin Thomas era?
Thanks in advance

headley – you’ve made your point. comment on the post or please stop posting.

GT has a real chance at being 10-2 this year if they play the way they are suppose to. Unfortunately, we ususally don’t. With that, I think we lose to VT and UGA. Not that GT can’t beat them, they most certainly can. But, until the team believes that they can beat a VT/UGA, they won’t. There is a lot to say about mental toughness and until the Jackets master that, they won’t be very good.

8-4 is more likely
August 27th, 20122:56 pm
Synjyn seems like a natural B-Back, and that is a position that needs more help than A back.
I wonder if the A back talk is just a smoke Screen
1 4 GT
Thanks for calling out headless Ken. We appreciate it!! WOW….I believe CPJ has drummed that philosophy into the team’s collective head!!

We are going to beat VT.
I do not know about the rest of the season.
But even if we don’t, this is a great way to start the season.
National TV will be great for the program if we show we can play.
Getting a real special team’s coach is a sore point with a lot of us.
Making the field goal in the Orange Bowl in 2010 and making the extra point vs Uga which would have given us a 35 all tie would have kept the pressure on.
Sometimes having the right coach to talk to can make all the difference.
I’m not a fire CPJ guy as he has done better than most.
But it was about time.
There will be a lot of benefits from this change.
August 27th, 20123:27 pm
Getting a special team’s coach reminds me of O’Leary being forced to hire Freigen.
A ST’s coach will not have as dramatic an effect as a new O coordinator can but we have had so many mistakes in this area that I have to be excited there will be a lot of improvement.
FORMATION 4 SUCCESS

8/27/12 STEP 5: Mental Preparation: You have to believe that winning starts with believing. Losing to UGA and VT and Miami over the last 3 years has to be quit disappointing. It wasn’t because they were better. GT, you just didn’t believe you were. Walking into a game hyping yourselves up during pregame chanting that you are ready, but then playing like you are unsure doesn’t add up. If you all just would understand who you truly are, then you will realize that GT was supposed to be playing in the Orange bowl for the last six years and UGA, VT and Miami were supposed to be wondering how to they are going to stop the bleeding this year. LISTEN. Regardless of who says what, this is where the GT program is supposed to be. Unfortunately, there are upper management folks that disagree. SO!! Who plays the games. And the films of those past games proved it. Don’t wonder, know. Don’t guess, be certain. Don’t fall to adversity, embrace it and then overcome it. Win. No Matter What…Win.

If Tech can’t figure out how to stop Gigantor at Virginia Tech QB position this year, it will be a LONG and frustrating game, filled with many successful 3rd down conversions by VT.
If they learned to tackle the legs/feet and no try and drag down a man bigger than them from the shoulders, then GT should find a way to win.
August 27th, 20127:32 pm
Hey Michael, I’m willing to bet they covered that this spring and fall. Probably last year after the game too. I’m not trying to be smart aleck, it’s just a guess. Yes he is probably the biggest threat we face from VT. I’m not discounting their other threats but Tech must contain him first. If we can the other threats are less dangerous. If our offense is clicking and control the clock I think we have a pretty good chance against the hokies.
Looks possibly like rain. Could be a positive or negative. Special teams and field position will play a big part on how this game unfolds.
Let’s do this Jackets!
August 27th, 201210:01 pm
I’m ready for GT to have a 12-0 year!!!!
And don’t tell me they can’t!
Just you all watch!
THWG and go Jackets!
August 28th, 201210:23 am
Well I see macriod the goon is all puffed up.
August 28th, 201211:00 am
I’m so ready for Monday night! Go Jackets!
big gt fan
August 28th, 201211:18 am
cpj is not putting players in the pros, hes not getting 4 or 5 starr guys and hes not winning big games. the practices are closed to media and public if this continue the world will forget about GT FOOTBALL and perhaps the school. But thank god for B. Gregory hes going and getting some players so we want be forgotten about around the country!
August 28th, 201212:38 pm
I am fearing that Virginia Tech will soundly clobber us. No disrespect to our Yellow Jackets, but unfortunately we are no match for the Hokies.
August 28th, 201212:46 pm
It would be a blessing if lightning once again postponed our game with VT, beause I think we need more time to prepare for them. Have you seen their scrimmage videos? (Unlike us, they openly reveal most of their scrimmages.) Logan Thomas will likely pick us apart, and their defense will be alarmingly good this year, even against our triple option. Yes, please let there be lightning! (I hope Lee Corso brings that rental car (lightning rod) again to Blacksburg!)
Tech is scared of Georgia Southern
August 28th, 201212:57 pm
Why is Tech scared to play Georgia Southern?
Scared of losing face by getting beat? Probably.
Man up, Tech. Schedule us and we will show you how to run that offense.
August 30th, 20123:58 pm
@Tech is scared of Georgia Southern
GSU is playing GT in 2015. Already scheduled.
…I don’t know who to root for more, I love both teams
