GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Having won Friday, Georgia Tech has a little margin in this double-elimination tournament, but not really. Here’s why:
If Georgia Tech loses to Florida tonight, the Jackets will need to beat the Gators twice after first having beaten College of Charleston Saturday afternoon in what will presumably warm conditions.
Then they’ll have to beat Brian Johnson, who is merely ranked the No. 39 draft prospect by Baseball America. The problem with that is, Danny Hall will have to either use Josh Heddinger or Jake Davies to beat the Cougars in the elimination game. (which is another matter: If Tech loses, who would be the wiser choice – Heddinger or Davies? Davies is probably the better pitcher, and thus might be better saved for Florida, but Tech can’t play Florida if it can’t beat College of Charleston)
And then, even if Tech beats Florida Sunday night, the Jackets will be out of starters.
So, again, Tech needs this one tonight pretty badly. Enjoy the game.

No such thing as a moral victory, but the dwag trolls claimed we would get blown away, and that’s far from the case. Still sucks though

I’m not too confident—too many balls—bone head plays by infield—bad calls by umps

We play CoC again. Maybe we can get the bats going in that game and carry through to face the gators again.

Once again Danny Hall takes a pre season top 10 team with most of the offense back from last year and coaches them down to an early exit in the regional. He spends a lot of time working on trying oto him home runs but never focuses on fundamental baseball that wins games at the end of the season. His teams commit a ton of errors and make dumb base running mistakes and can’t bunt or manufacture a run to save their lives which kills them when face decent pitchers like tonight. Winning the ACC was good, but the ACC is weak once again and five teams lost tonight. Hall will probably get a huge bonus and contract extension and we will be stuck with five more years of losing early in the regionals since most people don’t follow baseball and think Hall is a god. If he would get rid of his best friend and hire a real pitching coach, then Tech might actually be able to develop a staff and have a decent #3 pitcher like Florida and still have a chance. Since he hired a high school girls basketball coach to lead the staff instead, this team has no more pitching after two games.

ejections and probation equal a fine example of the yellow blowflys character.

SEC 14-2 after 2 days. ACC 7-6 after 2 days and 0-2 against SEC. It was a joke that Miami got to host. Serves them right to go 0-2.
