Live blog: Georgia Tech-Clemson
Greetings-
Just wanted to give you a space to comment on the game, scheduled for 11 a.m. (ESPN3 and regional sports networks, Fox Sports South in Atlanta) Jake Davies (0-3, 6.17 ERA) will pitch for Georgia Tech. The Clemson win Friday night, I’m guessing, changes things a lot for Tech. Conceivably, Danny Hall could have rested Davies Saturday, since the game would have been inconsequential, and saved him for the championship game. Instead, he’ll pitch Saturday and we’ll see what happens if Tech wins today. The likely choice would be Josh Heddinger (3-4, 5.09 ERA), a freshman perhaps notable for two strong starts against Georgia.
Clemson will pitch Kevin Pohle (6-3, 3.25 ERA, .268 opponent batting average). Tech faced him in the third game of the regular-season series and got into him, chasing him after 3 2/3 innings with three earned runs and six hits. Clemson won the game 11-8. Daniel Gossett got the win in relief for the Tigers.
I don’t think I’ll be able to be on much today because of a prior obligation, but hope you enjoy the game.

As a Clemson grad I will say this, you (tech) are peaking at a good time. Nobody cares about the regular season. ie FSU. While I hope we come back obviously, again, peaking late is good. and for what it’s worth, I agreed with the ump on the hit by pitch. Wish more umps would take a stand and not let players on any team at any level intentionally take one for the team. Good luck, hopefully we’ll meet at the CWS regardless of outcome.

I’m here SS—-been watching the game on FSS. Clemson was designated the home team, hence they bat last. I would guess the ACC chooses home/visiting teams, but only they know how the choice was made.

Sorry Blringham…..you just peed me off a lil. TECH just beat the #1 team and SMASHED the #13 teams in the country the past 2 games. That is pretty good don’t you think? If you only care about Football then don’t read Ken’s non-Football post or comment. This is a real good ACC tourney for TECH so far. Just be happy or read Heather Denich on ESPN’s coverage of the ACC Football.

I saw a squirrel skiing behind a RC boat in an email. Unfortunately, like some I know, I don’t keep all my emails. The single ski had a stand where the squirrel could place his front feet and the towline was affixed. Pretty cute & impressive.

Unbelievably for Augusta, at least one of the local TV stations has had coverage, WITH VIDEO, of each Tech game this week, and I’m sure they will tonight too. And the local newspaper even had a front-page teaser in this morning’s paper for the game today. We seldom get any coverage at all here of anything to do with Tech.
