Tech softball in ACC finals
The Georgia Tech softball team will play for its fifth ACC title Saturday after knocking out No. 19 Florida State in the semifinals Friday with a 9-1 win in Chapel Hill.
The third-seeded Yellow Jackets received 5 2/3 innings of no-hit pitching from Hope Rush and pounded out 11 hits in handing the No. 2 seed Seminoles their most lopsided defeat since early April. Kate Kuzma was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
The final will be broadcast live on ESPN at 4 p.m. against Virginia Tech, which beat North Carolina 4-1 in the other semifinal. The Jackets took two of three from the Hokies in the final series of the regular season.
Should Tech defeat the Hokies in its eighth tournament final appearance, it would be the Jackets’ third ACC title in four seasons.

ROAD…IF they win the ACC yes. TECH is #25 ranked right now and really need to win to make the tourney. UGa is #15 and really need to win the SEC to make sure they are in the tourney too.

ROAD only 16 teams make it in the Softball Tourney. You figure the 6 major conferences get the regular season champs in and the conference tourney champ in so that is 12 teams give or take right there. GT & UGa didn’t win the season so they need to win the conference tourney to be a LOCK.

64 teams make the softball tournament. They do it just like baseball now. Tech hosted the super regionals a couple of years ago after they won the regional they hosted.
The baseball team lost again last night with terrible defense in the eight. Since Tech only has one good pitcher now, they will get swept and miss the ACC tournament. At least Hall suckered DRad into giving him that new five year contract before the season so he doesn’t have to worry about another choke job by him.

I see the bracket and 64 are playing I think that is CRAZY but OK. How many MEN’s teams get to Omaha?
I know more teams are in the men’s tourney but only like 8 get to go to Omaha for the CWS.
