I’m not bashing the degree. I’m sure its great. I’m just bashing the crybaby sore loser Techies who constantly make nothing but excuses for their football program. Its a complete lie and a myth. History, Science and Technology majors have to take one math class and two science classes. That’s it. I just looked it up. Tech fans claim that this alone holds back their football program. If Tech does not have a good recruiting class, which it almost never does, Tech fans blame it on academics. If Tech loses a football game, which it often does, Tech fans blame it on academics. Tech fans claim that all good football players are too dumb to handle one math class and two science classes. Tech fans claim that 55% of their football players never graduate because History, Technology and Society is too difficult for them
Tech fans are just a total joke. That’s my only point. Congrats to all the graduates.

The value of a degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology has been reaffirmed in a big way. Georgia Tech is number one on SmartMoney Magazine’s list of the best 50 colleges based on return of tuition investment.
The magazine collected median pay figures from two pools of alumni, recent grads and those alums 15 years out from obtaining their degrees. This was compared with the actual cost of tuition. From this information, SmartMoney created a “Payback Score,” reflecting an actual return on tuition investment.
Based on this data, the payback score was determined to be 221. This score compared with the University of Texas, Austin, which placed second with a payback score of 194.
UGA was 4th at a score of 186.

Congrats graduates…..Whether its Tech or UGA, its important to get that degree. Y’alls football program will come around; I’m just not sure that maybe the system y’all have kind of scares away some recruits. Tough schools (see Duke, Stanford) can still have good teams. The rivalry will be back on soon enough….its just a matter of whether its with this offense. Maybe some shotgun, etc. would help y’all out……..

My degree, I’ll have you Techies know, is in Poopanomics. Anyway, on to the CMR poo report. I have the privilege of reporting to Mr king/ Mr Towers that today at 0852, CMR had a lovely bowel movement. There were 4 samples, all type 3 on the Bristol Stool Scale. Sizes were 6, 5, and 4 inches in length, total weight 11.75 oz. After lots of digging I could find no signs of corn or peanuts.

I said it was a great degree. I wasn’t attacking the student-athletes and I apologize if my comments could be construed as such. I just don’t think its the insurmountable hurdle to athletic success that Tech fans make it out to be. I think its a crutch and an excuse. I think Tech fans are some of the biggest sore losers you will ever encounter.

It limits the talent pool…and that’s a fact. JuCo grades cannot transfer in unless JC players happen to be, by some sheer stroke of luck, Mathematics majors at their JC. In addition, several HS recruits (especially in the state of Georgia) cannot even make Tech’s minimum GPA/test score requiremets imposed by the Institute for athletes.
While I’m not saying that makes landing a top-10 recruiting class (as dubious as that is) impossible…it reduces the odds quite a bit.

You still have to be admitted to major in that, and we don’t admit at the NCAA minimum. UGA – and many of the schools with which we compete for recruits – does. Even then, a player wouldn’t have the flexibility to switch majors to, say, Physical Education, if he decided he didn’t like H,T, & S.

Okay, you can’t get JUCO players. Does that really explain losses to teams like Air Force, Virginia and Utah on an annual basis? Keep trying. I’m sure you’ll come up with something.

Why don’t you tell me what those minimum GPA/test scores are pal. $100 says you can’t do it. You’ll flap your jaws about it until you’re blue in the face but you can’t tell me what they are. I guess I was unaware we lost to them annually. That’s like saying UGA loses to UCF or Colorado annually. However, the Air Force game was bad. We had two muffed punts and a fumble at the 1 yard line. Against Utah, half our team was hurt. I’d would have been more disappointed if I cared about bowl games.
As for UVA, they won eight games. Probably should have won, but those things happen.

Since 2007, North Carolina has had classes ranked by Rivals 17th, 32nd, 9th, 29th, 16th, 44th. Not too bad.
Since 2007,UVA has had classed ranked by Rivals 25th, unranked, 32nd, unranked, 25th, 27th. The 2008 team was actually pretty damn good.

But UVA is a terrible team…
