Greetings-
I have to run out and may be out for a minute, but if you want to talk NFL draft, here’s your space.
My two-player mock: 1. Indianapolis Colts – Andrew Luck. 2. Washington Redskins – Robert Griffin III.

just because players were not there doesn’t mean they were not invited. all those lineman that were drafted tonight were ahead on most of the nil teams boards that i read. glenn will get drafted tomorrow and will make a good chunk of change.

@ WnE….nobody has been “fawning” over Roddy Jones or anybody else. But we had to PRY IT OUT OF YOU even to get you to acknowledge him. And you STILL haven’t addressed the FACT that he is a PRIME EXAMPLE of what a STUDENT ATHLETE should be.

Wouldn’t Richt’s pro-style offense (which it isn’t) have prevented other players being ranked above him?

@ atlxman……similarly if Hill gets drafted tomorrow night, which at least according to all the reports over the past few weeks will happen, then he will make a big chunk of change too. So what’s your point?

wasn’t hill supposed to be drafted in the top 10 tonight? thats what all the people said….except the coaches know better. dude had no shot getting drafted in the first rd..just like UZZI will be lucky to get drafted in the 4th.
he lost in 2010 because he didn’t have a gaily recruited running back …this year his team won 8 in very weak acc div. and most likely lose 5 or more this year

atlxman, how do you think Grantham is going to embarrass UGA on TV again this year? You know he will, no matter how good you think his defense is. He is a loose cannon, and before it’s all over I would be willing to bet that Richt fires him.

atlxman…
Omoregie Uzzi will be drafted in the top 3 rounds next year, and Will Jackson probably the year after that. Of course in your mind that’s an impossibility…
________________
You are way off Supersize!
Neither of those guys will go in the 1st 3-rounds of the NFL draft.
IN order for a OG to go in the early they have to be exceptional and HUGE like that Stanford & Wisc. guy, those guys were like 6-5 320+lbs.
Uzzi might be big for a GT OL, but he is small for even a college OG, and Jackson is even smaller.
Jackson won’t be drafted AT ALL, and Uzzi will probably be a 6th or 7th round draft pick.
Not many 6-3 300lb. injury prone OGs get drafted in the top-3 rounds of the draft.
The last 2 3rd round OGs of the falcons, were Blaylock at 6-3 330 lbs. out of Texas and he was a consensus 1st Team A-A, and Mike Johnson out of Bama and he goes 6-5 320lbs. and also made some A-A teams.
Uzzi is smaller than those guys and has had less reps at pass-blocking coming out of college under game situations.

atlxman, CPJ didn’t have a Gailey-recruited back starting at B-back in 2001 either. Anthony Allen transferred from Louisville in 2008 and redshirted under NCAA rules. Although 2010 was not a great season, it wasn’t because of Allen, who had a banner year.

Allen transferred from a “pro-style” offense at Louisville to Tech KNOWING ahead of time what kind of offense CPJ was going to run. It didn’t seem to matter to him that he would not be in a “pro-style” offense, or he wouldn’t have made the transfer.

AtlASKMan……….O Charles was the #3 best TE has he been drafter coming out as a Junior? Hill was considered a 4th round pick before the Combine. He showed he is better than that. NFL teams are HOPING he would go later so he has moved higher on their draft boards but I an SURE you understand how Filling HOLES works in the NFL. SOME YEARS ARE QB/WR heavy and some years are O-Line/D-line heavy. The Board VALUE means HOW and WHO a team should pick. I know you understand that right?

ahhhh, once again the ignorance…..Dwyer didn’t get drafted as high as expected because he got out of shape AFTER the season and displayed an apparently bad work ethic. Under CPJ, he was disciplined and lean. As soon as he decided to go early, he apparently let himself go. That is not conjecture, that is FACT.

Just a piece of advice, atlxman: I’d be really careful about imputing professional success for RBs to the system they played in while in college. You don’t know the statistics for Richt-recruited backs, but I do. If I were you, I’d stop immediately.

atlxman, frankly, I don’t even like pro ball and almost never even watch any games. I have no idea where Hill should be drafted. I only know what Ken and others have been reporting over the past couple of months, and it has been said several times that apparently Hill had improved his chances so as toe a POSSIBLE first round choice, or at worst an early second round choice. I was disappointed tonight that he didn’t get drafted, but that was disappointment for him, since playing in the NFL is his choice. Since so few WR’s were drafted tonight, I would say that he is probably still in pretty good company.
