nesbitt was a very good pro style qb coming out of high school never really had a chance to get better since gaily was fired so we will never know..but I’m sure he would have been drafted if gaily was never fired.. again costing him millions…
gt bob i stand corrected on the draft pick..i though thomas was 26…but my point is he should have been in the top 15…..but instead teams passed on him…he was very lucky to be drafted by lame coach who was fired the following year

@ GTBob…..how do you do that italics thing on your cut and paste?
It’s just simple HTML tags. The AJC doesnt parse them out. Use i for italics or b if you wanted to do bold.

atlxman, maybe the teams that “passed on him” didn’t need a WR…..or at least not as much as they needed the position they drafted for. Did you ever think of that?

but my point is he should have been in the top 15
How do you even know that any of the teams that drafted ahead of that were even moderately considering a wide receiver?

so atlASKboy……….if Nesbitt went to Florida, Bama, West Virginia, Virginia Tech or Auburn he would have played in as many games and made it to the NFL! that is waht you are saying right? Well David Greene did all that and was the winning est college QB but NEVER PLAYED IN AN NFL GAME.
STFU you are looking more ghetto stupid with every post.

uoad..what was green pay day and what was nesbitts? thats what i thought…
super…nesbitt wasn’t taught how to play the safety spot from pj….again nesbitt talent got him in the nil..pj offense held him back and cost him millions..

uoad ..david green has millions in the bank while nesbitt is living off his parents most likely..all because of the type off offense they played in college..nesbitt arm is way stronger than greene and he runs faster,,yet green was drafted in the 3rd rd and nesbitt goes undrafted? why is that?

if bay bay was coached up then he would have been drafted higher much like calvin johnson and aj green…but instead teams passed on them..most teams draft who they think is the most talented while some do draft for needs..in some cases talent will win out like the johnson and green picks

Chan also recruited Nesbitt because he thought he could be Tech’s Tebow. I don’t think Chan could have coached him up like that, but I do think CPJ came close to doing that. He certainly had the athleticism and heart to do that, but it never panned out, and I am sure it would not have under Chan either.

atlASKboy the SIGNING bonus is in the first years contract. Do you really not know how the NFL contracts work? a SIGNING BONUS is paid up front then the contract is structured payments over the years of the contract with GUARANTEED monies each year.
Players don’t sign a $27million dollar contract with a $7million signing BONUS making the contract &34 million dollars. Your really need to come back when you can do some research or know something other than you GHETTO math.

atlASKboy so Bay Bay got less than $2 million guaranteed money between the #15 and #22 pick Next question? You need to learn how to figure the speed your car is actually going since you put those 22’s on your hooptie when it was supposed to have 15’s?

atlxman is an idiot not worthy of response. 5150 UOAD is no better. Someone accused 5150 of being a racist on another blog and he got all bent out of shape about it. But in his post with atlxman you can see that he is in fact using racist code words, “ghetto, pimp, 22’s on hooptie”. this is probably the reason Tech can’t get some of the better talent to commit to our team. Attitudes like 5150’s are not better than WNE’s. 5150’s response of, “I have many black friends” in 3, 2, 1…

5150…im a white guy and i have never talked about race…i stick to football and yes i kind of know the basics of an nfl contracts.. when i was asking the difference in the money a number 15 pick and number 22 pick make i was talking about the signing bonus. i think you found out its about 8 million which is a pretty nice chunk of change. i think bay bay, if he played in a pro style or even spread offense, would have been around 10-15 depending a teams need.
