Mock drafts send Tech’s Hill to Houston, S.F.

If the mock drafts are to be believed, former Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill is going to be either a Houston Texan or San Francisco 49er. I don’t put a great deal of credence in mock drafts; it seems like they tend to mirror one anther and rely on conventional wisdom, which isn’t usually how teams actually pick. Plus, one surprise pick at the top or middle of the actual first round can change everything down the stream.

Regardless, what I take from it is that Hill will likely go in the first round or early in the second, which, as I’ve written before, is remarkable considering that his draft evaluation said that he didn’t have the potential to go in the first three rounds.

The logic with Houston is that wide receiver is considered a “need” position. Starters Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter will both turn 31 before the season starts. Johnson has missed 12 games in the past two seasons. The 49ers had needs at wide receiver, but signed Randy Moss and Mario Manningham, and re-signed Ted Ginn Jr. Moss is obviously a question mark and Ginn has 31 catches in the past two seasons with San Francisco, so one could say the need is still present.

An aggregation:

On nfl.com, three have Hill going at No. 26 to Houston, another slots him with San Francisco at No. 30 and one doesn’t have him in the first round.

Sports Illustrated’s Don Banks gives Hill to San Francisco. ESPN’s Mel Kiper also pegs Hill for the 49ers, as does his colleague Todd McShay, who wrote that Hill had “one of the most impressive combine workouts I’ve ever seen from a receiver.” (Both ESPN mock drafts are behind a pay wall.)

Two more mocks on cbssports.com place Hill in San Francisco and out of the first round.

Wes Bunting of the National Football Post also pegs Hill for the Texans, as does John McClain, the NFL writer for the Houston Chronicle.

He’s generally considered the fourth receiver in the draft, after Justin Blackmon from Oklahoma State, Notre Dame’s Michael Floyd and Baylor’s Kendall Wright.

The first round of the draft is April 26.

This is what GT recruiting needs badly. UGA gets a lot of in state players that are fans and dream of playing at UGA while GT needs to convince players to come. Taking average talent players and putting them in the first round of the NFL draft is a huge selling point.

_______________

This is where many GT fans show how delusional they are in their idolatry of Coach PeeJay.

Stephen Hill was never an “average talent player”; he was 25+ foot long jumper out of HS that also had a 41-in. vertical leap out of HS at 6-4 190lbs.

Stephen Hill was always an elite athlete based on his Track background, he just happened to keep his speed, explosion, and leaping ability after growing to 215lbs.

Basically, S. Hill is a early Round NFL Draft candidate based on the athleticism from his track background moreso than anything he “learned” as a WR playing in GT’s Offense.

Many NFL scouts think that Hill has learned more and polished his WR skills more in pre-draft workouts (thanks to Terrance Mathis), than he did in playing for 3 yrs. at GT and diving at kneecaps every play.

Trying to take Hill’s success and boot-strap that individual success to anything associated with GT FB under Coach Kung Fu Panda is highly deceptive at a minimum, and in all likelihood an intentional misrepresentation of the facts, basically an outright lie.

CPJ has recruited so poorly, that his supporters feel the need to play fast & loose with the facts to make him look like he is a better coach than he really is.

CPJ did absolutely nothing to help get S. Hill to where he is right now!

I did say that Hill & his father made their decision because they’d rather “roll the dice” on their pre-draft NFL workouts rather than trust Coach Kung Fu Panda’s Offense for one more yr. to improve Hill’s draft stock.

That right there is the ultimate criticism of Coach Fish Fry’s gimmicky Triple-SLOPtion Offense, a guy with around 30-catches over a season would rather run the RISK of pre-draft workouts to get him some NFL-money rather than one more yr. of playing for you, you being Coach Peejay.

____________

The 3 WRs ranked ahead of Hill in this draft all have lesser athletic measurables than Hill but they do have better stats from offenses that more closely resemble Pro-Style Offenses.

Basically, smaller, slower guys are ranked ahead of Hill because they learned different things and played in different offenses than what CPJ runs.

Had Hill played in the same type of offense as one of those guys ranked ahead of him, then one could reasonably deduce that Hill would have been the #1 WR in this draft class had he played for a different HC in a different system.

This draft class is worthy of note because this is considered a better than average draft class for WRs with 4 or 5 getting 1st round or early 2nd round draft grades.

Stephen Hill was rated by Scouts.com as a 4-star and by Rivals as a 3-star. Recruited by Boston College, Miss, Miss St, UNC, UAB, and UCF. Of course, he wasn’t recruited by the big boys so OBVIOUSLY he wasn’t an ELITE recruit. I’m sure a lot of people saw that “UAB and UCF” were recruiting him and said, “OH we beat UAB and UCF for him. Boo hoo.” Anyways, its awesome to see that Stephen Hill is thought of as a 1st round talent. I still think he’ll end up in the 3rd round when all is said and done. Remember, he is still seen as a “project”. But a project with TONS of potential.

For those who want to know whether GT has recruited any “ELITE” recruits during CPJ’s era, I would assume by “ELITE” you are referring to someone who is rated a four-star player. That’s what I’m going to be assuming and here’s the list that I can give ya (ranking by position):
omoregie uzzi: No. 9 rated guard in the nation by Scout.com and No. 19 by Rivals. Recruited by Bama, UGA, UVA, Auburn,
J.C. Lanier: No. 31 rated by Rivals for DT and No. 25 by Scout.com. Recruited by Clemson
Ryan Ayers: No.25 rated CB by Rivals, No. 16 by Scout.com. Recruited by Bama, Auburn, UGA, Oklahoma, Florida, to name a few
Louis Young: No. 15 by Rivals for CB, and No. 11 by Scout.com. Recruited by Michigan, Iowa, Miami, Nebraska, VaTech, Stanford, UCLA to name a few
Denzel McCoy: No. 18 by Rivals for DT and No. 53 by Scout.com. Recruited by Bama, UGA, LSU, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Auburn, Cal, and etc etc etc
Anthony Williams: No. 13 by Rivals.com for DTs, No. 65 for Scout.com. Recruited by Auburn, LSU, FSU, Stanford

I’m sure there were more 3-stars who were recruited by the big boys as well. Just don’t have the time to look that up as well.

If it was so obvious that a kid with this much athleticism, size, and ability was 1st round NFL draft material why did all these places (that sell putting kids in the NFL) not go after Stephen Hill?

Before you GT fan get too happy with our “steal” of a recruit from Bama, remember that we also stole 4* Recruit Stephen Hill from uga,and then they proceeded to recruit tons of WRs that have proven to be better than S. Hill, if Hill had gone to UGa he’d be the 8th option at WR for them.

Teams like Bama/LSU that lose these types of players and even uga sometimes can jsut shrug it off and keep on doing what they’re doing.

So. Malcolm Mitchell
So. Michael Bennett
So. Chris Conley

And those are just some of the WRs that have made ugag not even miss the 4* Recruit that we stole from them, not to mention Hill can’t catch very well vs. the good teams but is great vs. the crappy D1-AAs that GT plays.

In summary take it all with a grain of salt, sometimes these things don’t play out like you hope they will.

Since then they/uga stole 2 WRs that we WANTED badly, Justin Scott-Wesley and Cris Conley that really could have been difference makers for GT.

From Hill’s constant drops vs. BCS team I’d say that uga got the best of the deal when we “stole” S. Hill from them.

I don’t know that is systemic there, FLJ. I mean, there are 85 guys on scholarship, so the vast majority are fine. But I think the greater issue is that I’ve seen no data to support the idea that football players get in trouble at a higher rate than the student population in general. Even then, we’d need to find out what the rate is at other schools to determine whether there’s a real issue.

Stephen Hill was never an “average talent player”; he was 25+ foot long jumper out of HS that also had a 41-in. vertical leap out of HS at 6-4 190lbs.

Stephen Hill was always an elite athlete based on his Track background, he just happened to keep his speed, explosion, and leaping ability after growing to 215lbs….

CPJ has recruited so poorly, that his supporters feel the need to play fast & loose with the facts to make him look like he is a better coach than he really is.

All I know about Georgie players having many discipline problems is this. I hear and read about theirs way more than other schools. I will limit that thought to the neighboring states and the schools in said states. This is not me being racist or bigoted. We all know the percentage of the college athletes is predominately black and that a high percentage of them grow up without a daddy in the home. They are at a big disadvantage right there. How many times have we read that a recruits hs coach is his legal guardian? These kids are often times recruited by the numerous schools referred to in the states surrounding Georgia. So why is it that we hear about players from the U of Georgie getting in trouble so much more than from other surrounding schools, not accounting for the Steven Garcia’s of the SEC. I have no idea. According to 680theFan, Georgie has the most stringent discipline rules in the SEC. Just saying/asking!!

There does seem to be something strange going on in Athens.
I don’t believe that UGA recruits players who are any different than at most of the other schools in the SEC or ACC (Duke and Vandy are a little different). I think that many of the trivial issues at UGA are overblown (all of the scooter issues for starters).
In the 2011 off-season UGA was a model of behavior but this year they are back in the news. Being ranked as the #1 party school in the US may be indicative of where the problem lies.

I would back away from saying its racially dependent for a few reasons. First, Phil Smith proves that idiots abound no matter how pedigreed or priveleged. But second, I would say it’s more socio-economically motivated. You don’t take kids out of difficult situations, often times with unrealistic expectations, and expect them to act differently just because they are on a college campus. Third, many of these kids have also been coddled because of their athletic gifts. They probably got away with things in HS that the Clarke County PD doesn’t put up with…

At the time I wrote that above, Hill had only had something like 300 yds. receiving in the last 9 games, so I was correct that Hill disappeared vs. the BCS level teams on GT’s schedule.

Those comments back on Dec. 2011 was based on in-game production, after seeing him with “real” coaching now we know that CPJ is the one that is at fault for not getting more out of Hill.

His hands were shaky vs. BCS level teams and he disappeared vs. big time teams, but AFTER the coaching he received from Terrance Mathis, only then did he show more consistent hands and better technique, so now we all know that CPJ & Buzz Preston were the problem all along for NOT teaching Hill what he needed to be a better CFB player.

After seeing Malcolm Mitchell & S. Hill which one do you think was/is the more impactful CFB WR?

Follow Chis Conley’s career at UGA and you’ll see the same thing happen, he was the “other T-Fr.” WR that UGA had that burned us last season that our Defense couldn’t cover.

For all the success that Hill has had during the pre-draft NFL workouts, not one time in his College Career at GT under Coach Kung Fu Panda did any defense specifically “game-plan” for him the way they would for a AJ Green, Julio Jones, etc; IF Coach kung Fu Panda were really a genius that got the “most” out of his players then this would not be the case.

You guys can argue all you want, but anyone that “knows CFB” that also saw clips of the NFL combine will tell you that the S. Hill at the combine looked NOTHING like what we saw playing for GT, Hill basically learned more in 3-weeks from Terrance Mathis than he did in 3 years from Coach Fish Fry & Coach Buzz Preston.

Collectively ask yourselves WHY CPJ could not get more out of a 6-4 215lb WR that runs a 4.36 forty that also has a 40-in vertical leap?

I know that white kids got into trouble too. It is just the high percentage stands out. I guess I’ll have to bite the bullet and say it. It looks like a leadership failure at Georgie to me. This statement just shows how stupid you are when it comes to CFB, Kris Durham was a very low level recruit, that wasn’t projected to get drafted at all, yet somehow he worked his way into being a 4th round NFL draft pick, not bad considering where he came from talent wise.

I will agree that my comment maybe reads to your way of thinking. I am not a bigoted racist. My Dad grew up where they had signs about not letting the sun set on their heads within certain boundaries, but I NEVER heard him use the “N” word. He always used the politer more accepted words common to his time and my childhood for that matter. I am only referring to the obvious number differences. I don’t know how I can defend myself any better. My biggest point is the end of my last post. The kids, both black and white or zebra stripped or polka dotted are being ill served by the leadership at Georgie. Ghost will just have to be mad or hurt or whatever.

Bingo, FLJ. That’s the point that I’ve been making forever – essentially that there are no pro-style offenses in college, and lining up in an I formation with two receivers and TE doesn’t make it one.

What UGA’s problem is (along with large numbers of football factory-type schools) is that to be competitive in football they have to admit (and often “special admit”) kids who honestly have no business being at the colleges that recruit them.

That is not being elitist, per se. It’s expecting kids from under-priveleged backgrounds and piss poor role models to co-exist and assimilate into a college environment without reprecussions…and that to me is just crazy.

5150,Green caught a TD pass in the Pro bowl, 1st rookie WR since 2004 to be named to all pro.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has been Cincinnati’s most dynamic player this season, posting 63 receptions for 1,031 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Along with being the team’s all-time leading rookie receiver, breaking Cris Collinsworth’s mark that’s stood for 30 years, Green is the first Cincinnati Bengals rookie to be named to the Pro Bowl since, you guessed it, Cris Collinsworth.

“Pro-style” offense is simply a misnomer that kids (who don’t know any better) cling to because they think it’s helping them get somewhere.

Ghost…someone brought up the “pro-style” offenses that Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, and Mike Williams came from before going to the Detroit Lions as super-high draft picks. That offense in college surely didn’t seem to help them…

George Stein

March 30th, 2012

I understand that, FLJ, but I’m uncomfortable with that for a few reasons. First, the NCAA places such heavy restrictions on the amount of contact that a coach can have with a player that it’s difficult to know his character. Second, if a player is being recruited, he’ll likely be on his best behavior during that process.

But most importantly, I don’t like the idea of profiling a player. I mean, just because one kid is a poor black kid from the inner city and another is a suburban black player from an upper middle class area doesn’t really tell me about how they’ll behave in college, nor does it tell me about their intellect. Often, the kid from the poorer area is just as intelligent but hasn’t had it show because the resources at that school are so low.

There’s a large part of me that says go after the poor kids just to give them a chance to improve their lot in life. I only wish they’d take advantage more often.

Fl Jacket, they are and were quite a bit more sophisticated the the triple option. I like the triple option for teams like army and navy, Air force, some high schools, its a nice offense against over aggressive defenses . Heck I ran it when I coached my sons 8th grade team . You obviously think PJ is a great coach, I don’t and I think the staff is weak and his inability to recruit better players is catching up to him. But I am not writing the checks for tech football coaches so my opinion is only that an opinion .

I’m not retracting my previous comments. I am just finding good points in the posts from FLJ & George both. Most of the kids from all walks of life seem to understand that to “whom much is given, much is expected”. And yes, I do know that other schools have their problems too, That’s why I limited my original comment to the schools in states surrounding, I should have said bordering, Georgia thinking we would be more likely to hear about them. Did not intend on starting a running dialogue, but it is nice to hear and learn from others.

FL Jacket

March 30th, 2012
3:08 pm

Ghost…

They might as well be mose sophisticated, and the WR in that offense will get more reps. However, I’m simply arguing that the sheer amount of information they will learn about multiple sets they will need to run, the video of the other team’s defense they will watch, and preparing they will be expected to do once int he NFL is exponentially more substantial in the NFL.

For the record…the Patriots run 5-wide out of the shotgun for most of the game. Why is it that Graham Harrell or Tim Couch never succeeded in the NFL after running Mike Leach offenses?

It’s because succeeding in the NFL has nothing to do with how much you learned in college. It has everything to do with knowing your personnel, and studying defensinve schemes to the Nth degree. The players who can adapt to NFL defenses are the players who end up lasting in the NFL.

George Stein

SO GHOST AJ Green got votes but didn’t MAKE the team. He was in the game because Green has received 462,273 votes, which is enough for him to be the third wide receiver on the AFC team. He’s behind the Patriots’ Wes Welker (896,198) and the Steelers’ Mike Wallace (742,206) and WALLACE didn’t play. OK I give you he was good and there but he got a lil over 1/2 as many votes to make #3.

“Most of the kids from all walks of life seem to understand that to “whom much is given, much is expected”.”

Green, from the University of Georgia, was the Bengals’ first-round selection (fourth overall) in the 2011 draft. He is the first rookie WR voted to the Pro Bowl since the 2003 season, when Anquan Boldin of the Arizona Cardinals made the list, and he is the first Bengals rookie at any position voted to the Pro Bowl since WR Cris Collinsworth in the 1981 season.

I feel sorry for UGA fans, actually I feel sorry for GT fans also, this state deserves better than what our FB programs are giving us in recent years.

If you play a position like DL that rotates a lot of players in-and-out, then there’s no reason to transfer for more PT, something doesn’t add up here.

You’re already playing in the SEC, so you ‘re not going to transfer to a better conference, you can’t say that the coaching staff hosed you because at this point Garrison Smith is the better player, and it isn’t really close, rather than transfer there is always the possibility of playing the other DE opposite of G. Smith, with injuries you never know you could be the starter in a split-second.

The way this looks I doubt that a 2nd teamer in the Spring is transferring for more PT.

At the BCS level here in Ga. it seems as if both teams are frustrating as heck to their fans and make it really hard to pull for them.

Kallon on played one yr. of HS FB

Tomlinson was the DL that GT really wanted as was the 2 guys that UGA got from the same team DeLoach & the other guy. Gamble & Kallon were fallback B list guys maybe not C or D guys.

Ether way they were NOT GT’s A-list guys that they targeted as the ones to get.

Justin Thomas was a 4* but ONLY as a DB or WR, not as a QB which is what Gt brought him in as.

_______________

Stop wasting your time, the majority of GT fans know NOTHING about BCS-level CFB, what little they do know they get from the CPJ call-in Radio show where Wes Durham fawns for an hour over every word that CPJ says.

Believe it or not, but at one time, I think it was the 2009 season(?), but GT had Bay-Bay Thomas (6-3 235lbs. 4.38- forty), Stephen Hill (at the time 6-4 190lbs 4.36- forty ), Kevin Cone (6-2 210lbs. 4.37 – forty) on the roster at the SAME TIME playing WR, yet CPJ, the offensive Genius only averaged 13 passes per game, in 2010 he still had Cone & Hill and still didn’t throw the ball enough.

CPJ “lucked” into 2 great physical specimens at WR already on the roster (Cone & Thomas) and got lucky again when Hill & his father fell for his recruiting spiel, and then when they were all the roster at the same time, he chose to run his triple-SLOPtion and give the ball to pint sized A-backs instead.

If you don’t throw the ball with 3 guys that are 6-2 & up and all run under 4.40 in the forty, and are all likely to be in the NFL at the same time, then you aren’t likely to ever be serious about passing the FB better.

Too many so-called GT fans on this blog would rather pull old comments from me from 16 months ago, rather than analyze what is going on with GT FB.

Wouldn’t a genius HC be able to look at those types of WRs and be able to convince at least ONE decent passing QB to come to GT?

Wouldn’t a genius HC look at those types of WRs and be able to decide to get a REAL QB coach and not some guy that splits time coaching QBs AND B-backs (Bohannon)?

Maybe GT’s passing troubles stem from the fact that GT doesn’t have a coach dedicated to QB development, most BCS-LEVEL schools have either a QB-coach or OC that works exclusively with QB development?

What works at the crappy D1-AA level or the crappy Service Academy level with 1 guy coaching BOTH QBs & B-backs might NOT work at the BCS-level.

Nowhere else in a BCS conference do you see a coach that develops QBs splitting his time with coaching RUNNING BACKS also.

Maybe CPJ is in over his head with the way he has set up his staff, after all were it not for a scumbag, cheating asst coach we would still have TWO O-line coaches and no STs coach.

Regardless of the PR-guided answers that Hill has been giving to the media since he did so well at the combine, I have good sources that say that Hill & his father regret going to GT & playing for coach Kung Fu Panda.

After seeing his Combing performances, Hill & his Father know deep down inside that playing for CPJ could have very well cost them 15-20 spots in this draft and a LOT of money, but for PR reasons they’ll never come out and say anything, they don’t want to sound like they are another “diva-WR” (TO, Chad Ocho-Cinco, etc).

Those answers that Hill has been giving about “loving” his time at GT are nothing more than pre-draft PR & posturing, too bad that GT fans are too naive to to understand this.

In theory you’re right, but in a conf. like the SEC, losing 6-4 300 pounders that play DE will hurt at some point, Drew & C. Washington are more pass rushers than run stoppers.

Over the course of a season you will always need that extra big body to provide depth in a run -first conference like the SEC.

The Tr-Fr. Taylor & Atkins, are both 315-320, but you don’t want to have to rely on T-fr. if you can avoid it.

BTW, both Taylor & Atkins were offered by and were expected to be Academic Qualifiers for GT, I like to mention facts like this to balance out all the excuse making that Academics is what is hurting GT recruiting-wise.

Under 50% completions for his entire tenure, crappy STs for his entire tenure, crappy defense for his entire tenure, do you think that GT is getting a “good deal” for that $2.5 mil per yr. that he ’s getting paid?

QB is the most important position on the team, yet we split our QB-coaching duties with also coaching B-Backs, maybe IF we coached our QBs better they might be able to pass better under game-pressure, is this theory not worthy of discussion?

Or is it more important what I posted 7 years ago?

Wierner, you do realize don’t you that a Pepper Rodgers team beat a nationally ranked Notre Dame team without ever even attempting a pass, and slaughtered UGA without ever completing one, although two were attempted. Sure, that was 40 year ago, but it just proves that you CAN win without a passing QB. The fact that Tech can lead, or be close to the top in, the nation in total offense tells me that it can happen today. The problem that CPJ has had at Tech is that his defense has stunk, but even that is finally showing improvement.

___________

When you talk sports people will get tagged with nicknames, I used to call CMR the “The Reverend”, or Reverend Richt, it just goes along with the territory.

I’d like to see a guy like Art Briles get a shot at GT, at Baylor he’s about the 6th choice for in-state Recruits in Texas behind:

Texas
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
Okie State
TCU

But at GT with his aggressive passing attack and only having to worry about UGA & Bama, he could beat out Auburn, USCe, Clemson, Tenn for more of the better Pro-Style Recruits that have come out
of Georgia in recent years.

There are other Assts. with that kind of background that would make it easier for more of the better recruits to stay in Ga. and choose GT.

CPJ is terrible Recruiter and he is NOT the “best that GT can ever hope for” (not my words, these are the words of the boot-licking-toadies)!

Comparing Stats doesn’t tell the entire story.

GT played in a crappy ACC and had the 70th toughest schedule in all of CFB and played a Service Academy in their Bowl Game.

UGA.y played a schedule ranked in the mid 30s as far as difficulty and they had to play in the SECheat, had GT played in the SEC we would have very likely had a record of 5-7 or 4-8 and not gone to Bowl, if CMR & UGA.y had GT’s schedule and played in the A.She.She, then CMR probably wouldn’t be on any hot seat at all, maybe a warm seat.

Your Yardage Stats doesn’t take into account that the ACC since CPJ has arrived has been pure crap, while the SECheat has a chance to have its 4th straight MNC, and in most years the SECheat sends TWO teams to BCS Bowls, come thing the ACC has NEVER DONE.

In summary STATS ARE FOR LOSERS, the only stat that is important is the FINAL SCORE!

I have written on GT message board that if both GT & uga could elevate their FB programs like FSU & Miami did during the 80s & 90s, then BOTH schools would benefit because the rivalry would take on a FSU-Miami, Texas-OU or Ohio State-Michigan sort of vibe and the entire nation would be forced to pay attention, this would help GT much more than it would help UGa. since Uga already recruits at a high level, the national attention would bring GT more difference-making recruits than they normally get.

Too many GT fans are blinded by their hatred of uga, to see that a GT fan can want what’s best for GT and want to beat uga without constantly hating uga or wanting uga to go 0-11 leading up to the GT game is beyond their grasp.

I’m thinking about what it will take to get GT to a national level ala, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, USCw, Bama , etc.

Most of my critics have no dreams of GT FB ever becoming that good, all they know is “CPJ is god” and that’s about it, whereas I choose to analyze what it will take for GT to become an elite CFB program.

5150, Richts recruiting model is working fine, losing 3 players that would not be in the rotation , big deal, they wouldn’t get playing time and want to transfer somewhere where they can. When one leavers a 4 or 5 star player is there to take his place.Deas is leaving because he’ll be playing behind Swann and Moore and with Matthews coming in 2013 and 5 star JH Clemmons # 1 rated player in Georgia last year likely move to safety he’s best off leaving now, Dobbs in the same boat wouldn’t be in the rotation unless injury happens better athletes coming in behind him to take even more time. Hate to see them go , but if they don’t want to compete so what? Richts had 1 bad year out of 11 and recruits at a very high level, most all of the players had offers to play at other major programs.

“BTW that was in 2005 BEFORE Gailey “learned” how to recruit with his recruiting classes in 06 & 07.”

According to Rivals, we took 16 players in 2006. Of the 16, 6 were two star players, nine were three star players, and one garnered four stars (Jamal Evans, who left the program after a year). Oddly, one of the three star players (not an ELITE RECRUIT, according to WnE), was named Demaryius Thomas. What ever happened to him?

George Stein…Bay-Bay may have been drafted higher than 22nd overall if it wasn’t for the triple-SLOPtion offense. If you had a son who was an ELITE RECRUIT, would you want him to be a WR in the triple SLOPtion offense where he couldn’t get drafted higher than 22nd overall? You boot licking toadies who worship at the kung fu panda altar don’t understand how much money Coach PeeJay costs these ELITE ATHLETES. lol.

Ken’s article on Walkosky is definitely a good one. Just glad CPJ finally realized it was something he needed to address and found a way to do it. Sounds like he got a winner with Walkosky.

Look forward to the email, and don’t worry, I won’t inundate you with unwanted garbage. I only send out stuff pertinent to games or, like most recently, a shirt design that GT Lee came up with disparaging the NCAA denial of our appeal. With the exception of that shirt design and some emails I have sent to a couple of bloggers who have now become personal friends, I haven’t emailed anybody since January. “You putzes can bring up 5-year old comments made outside of the AJC blogs, yet you have no comments about GT having crappy QB play (under 50% completions for CPJ’s entire tenure) that might be caused by CPJ himself given the way that he set his staff up w/o a Asst. Coach dedicated to developing QBs.”

This should provide some measure of how little WnE knows about football at any level. Completion percentage provides about as much insight as RBI do in baseball. Any other useless metrics you’d like to throw at us, WnE?
