Tech to make football hire soon
Georgia Tech will probably fill its coaching vacancy this week, coach Paul Johnson said.
The coach will replace co-offensive line coach Todd Spencer, who resigned Jan. 27 after violating NCAA rules banning text messages to prospects and their guardians or parents. Johnson would not offer more detail about the hire and did not specify which position he would coach.
“I have not offered anybody the job yet, but I probably will in the next day or two,” he said Tuesday.
Johnson did say that he did not foresee any more changes on the staff. He said he interviewed “three or four” candidates, and that he didn’t have a prior working relationship with all of them.
He laughed at the rumor that former Maryland coach and Tech offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen had been a possibility.
“There wasn’t any truth to that,” he said.

Hey George…Supersize….HT….FLJ….been catching up with you guys here. I see no info on the link to the new ST coach when I click on it. Sorry to change the subject, but………George, do you, or anyone else, know a way to download entire CD’s to Ipod MP3 for free? Got the method for 1 song at a time. Takes too long to build a library that way.

If Johnson hired Friedgen, they could moonlight as a tag team on WWE. They could be called Moobs and the Fridge. Seriously, why wouldn’t Johnson hire Friedgen because then when the network did a sideline shot during the game, Johnson would look downright buff standing next to Friedgen.
Johnson’s ego would never let him hire a coach like Friedgen because then he couldn’t tell all the Tech fans that he was the smartest coach in the stadium and make them believe it.

@ Augusta, I got away with quite a bit of time-wasting when I was there, but we definitely were not allowed to use the internet for anything personal. Of course, back then there really wasn’t that much internet to mess around with. I told you I am old. LOL

CPJ must be mellowing (getting smarter) as he nears geezer hood. He has given a punter a scholarship, is recruiting a placekicker and now hires a special teams coach. If this any indicator of the changes we can look forward to, I predict the offense will be opened up henceforth.

He did good at Maryland, cant figure out why you fire the ACC coach of the year, the same year. Plus as an offensive coordinator at GT, he was super, Hamilton and Sean Jones were good…

1 4 GT…I don’t know what I was thinking earlier. You can set up itunes to convert an entire CD. The freeware I have converts itunes MP4 to MP3.
