Georgia Tech guard Glen Rice Jr.’s suspension will continue at least through the Yellow Jackets’ Saturday game against Maryland at Philips Arena. Coach Brian Gregory said Thursday that Rice’s suspended status remained the same but would not offer more detail.
Rice, the Jackets’ leading scorer and rebounder, has missed the past two games due to the suspension.

The Tech team played better against VT with Rice on the bench. It was a heartbreaking loss. Tech was in it the whole game. This season will be rough but next year Tech will compete in the ACC.

Blah Blah Blah-Not one of you on this blog can predict the future. All of the hate against a college basketball coach who is no longer at Tech and a player who has been suspended. Who gives you the right to pass judgment on anyone. It is clearly becoming a racial issue on here. Get a life and stop speculating. You all sound stupid!!

This should be called the Paul Hewitt scapegoat blog!! A couple of things are for certain…Yes the current GT team is not very good (Insert whatever reasons here..) Paul Hewitt is doing very well at GM (insert whatever reasons here..) Time will tell very soon if BG is the coach everyone expected him to be. Paul didn’t leave him with nothing…and certainly not a team only capable of scoring a little over 30 points. I will never agree with anyone who argues that Hewitt is not a good coach. The sooner the Yellow Jacket Nation realizes that today’s student athletes have changed, the better they will be. I TOTALLY agree that these kids should be held accountable for their actions and should learn to follow rules. Todays athletes come from a different upbringing and contrary to some of the opinions…not just the thug Black athletes. If ANY coach wants to have success in this generation he better learn how to better relate to kids of this generation. It doesn’t mean let them run the team, but it does mean that you cannot relate to every player in the same manner and get the same results. I would challenge anyone to take a look at some of the top programs and they all have some of these “Thug” players everyone talks about wanting to get rid of…..You can either learn to adapt, relate, and play together …or you have to learn how to coach a team full of walk-on level talent and compete against those teams…you might have a team full of choir boys but it want count for a lot wins

Well stated Macc I agree. I m watching W. Virginia and Marquette at the present. Amused to find that several of their players are suspended for violation of team rules for only half of the game. Doesn’t seem fair that other players are suspended by a coach -indefinitely. Something stinks!

Several players have been suspended multiple times from numerous teams this year. It has become very common. There is no consistency in the length of suspension and there should be. Some coaches are abusing the policy. An unfair practice.

What is even worse…you are stupid! Racism? Give me a break! While the drug suspension of Rice is a rumor, and we may never really know why he was suspended, NO ONE has brought up race…until you. A crappy team is just that..a crappy team. A player who does not follow the rules is just that, whether they are white, black, yellow…
Daniel Miller and Kevin Hosey are playing their hearts out and improving. The guard play has been attrocious; Mfron has tried to stay under control and has had mixed results. The others…oh, brother. Morris is a raw talent who has flashes of briliance.
We need to give Coach Gregory the benefit of the doubt anyway. Not having a home arena in his first year has truley made this an uphill battle.
As for Jarvis Critterton: your momma must be proud!

BobinBuford, not sure I agree with you on that, I think that there is some division in the Tech fanbase regarding the coach. I for one think that you guys have the right coach in BG, and that he is making the right decision with Rice. If the current administration gives CBG time, he will get Tech back to competing for championships. I know that Tech is better at the funamentals than they were with Coach Blewett. At least they know how to inbound the ball now.
This is from a GA fan, who has no anamosity for you guys or your program, I wish you guys the best every game, except when you play the Dawgs or Dwags as some of our fan know them. LOL. GATA!

Done watching GT! Why is Gregory looking surprised like he didn’t expect his team to finish dead last in the ACC. All he talks about is his season next year. You couldn’t do anything with the team this year. Things could change over night. Some of his commits may change their minds after seeing his coaching fiasco this year. What a cold fish!
