Tech’s Morris uncertain for Clemson

Guard Jason Morris may not play against Clemson Tuesday because of a foot injury suffered in overtime of the Yellow Jackets’ loss to Virginia Tech Saturday.

If Morris cannot play, Tech will have eight players on scholarship available, including former walk-ons Nick Foreman and Derek Craig. Guard Glen Rice Jr., who is suspended, and backup center Nate Hicks, who has mononucleosis, will not play.

Morris suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly after taking a shot against the Hokies. Morris played one of his best games of the season, scoring 10 points with four assists. He did not practice Sunday. It’s possible that even if he is available, that he would be limited.

The Jackets played with eight players Saturday, including Morris. With the overtime period, all five starters played 33 minutes or more.

“Everybody’s got to be ready to go on Tuesday night,” coach Brian Gregory said. “Even if it’s one minute of playing time it’s got to be the hardest one minute that they’ve ever played.”

Oh well. This season is over for Tech, UGA, and the Hawks anyway so it doesn’t really matter. Time to focus on softball.

i would like to see what Derek Craig could do by getting some minutes.

Wish we would not play Hewitt’s run and jump at ‘em defense so much????

Playing everybody at least. Get the minutes and experience.

[...] scorer Andre Young posted a career-high 29-points. Georgia Tech may be without another guard in Jason Morris also with a foot injury – leaving them with just six scholarship players. Either way, Brad Brownell’s Tigers are the better team, and the Yellow Jackets [...]

When CBG’s turn around is complete, these games and this group of guys will be remembered as the “cornerstone” of the new era. Will JR be thought of as a part of this new era or as a quitter? Come on Rice, get your act together and be considered a TECH man with the likes of the Dalrymples,’s Harpring’s, Best’s, Elder’s and Price’s. You make the call.

I saw a guy on the sidelines at a Tech game this fall and wondered: “Who’s that little dandy?”
It was the new basketball coach. The little dandy can coach and he has got the guys playing harder than I’ve seen them play in years. I hope that THIS TEAM gets some big wins this season to go with the win over “Georgie” in Athens.

Since I stopped attending this year, I don’t mind the coach going to great lengths to show everyone who’s the boss. However if I had, I would be pissed.
Now if this is Hewitt’s fault – to be consistent – the housing bubble and its huge ramifications – is W’s fault.
Unless u just pick the black guy to blame every time.
