Greetings-
My commendation to you for watching this game. You are truly loyal.
Georgia Tech has a chance to get out of last place in the ACC, or at least force a four-way tie for ninth at 3-9.
Obviously, a big piece of this game is that the Yellow Jackets will be without Glen Rice Jr., suspended indefinitely by Brian Gregory. Rice, I probably don’t have to tell you, leads the team in scoring and rebounding and takes on a lot of ballhandling responsibilities. We’ll see who fills in the void and how the Jackets manage having such a short bench. I’d expect to see both former walk-ons Derek Craig and Nick Foreman giving minutes. Guard Jason Morris may get some minutes at the power forward spot.
It’ll be interesting to see where Rice’s shots go. I am sure Gregory is hoping that Daniel Miller and Kammeon Holsey pick up the slack. Another piece is how Mfon Udofia handles pressure without Rice.
Virginia Tech players to watch:
Forward Victor Davila, 26 of 38 from the floor in his last seven games, but missed the Hokies’ last game, a loss, to Florida State.
Guard Erick Green has scored in double figures in the past 27 games.

Holsey has a number of good moves near the basket. I had season tickets last year. Beating UNC by 20 at home was fun but the run was ended by the flu. Always wondered why basketball teams don’t get the shot.

Football season ticket holder 2009,2010, 2011. Basketball 2009 and 2010.
Instead of dropping basketball again, I am thinking of dropping football instead.
I am pissed with Paul for calling the TO before the Dawgs missed a field goal in the FIRST half.
Part of being a fan is to think your yelling makes a difference. If the coach is going to give their kicker a second chance after you risk getting hoarse, maybe I don’t need to waste my money, time and breath. Tech basketball will rebound next year but can’t we sell some point guard on coming here? I’ll even be pleased with a good ball handler/poor shooter.

Wow, I hope you are wrong, because I think CBG has Tech headed in the right direction. The team actually seems to know a few inbound plays and they have TOs left when the game is on the line. I think that once Coach Gregory has a chance to get some players for his system and continues to coach them up then Tech will be a Champoinship contender. I just hope that Coach Fox will be able to do the same for our Dawgs. You guys have a winner in CBG.

Tech could have used Rice today.
All 5 of our starters were in double figures. We lost on a last second buzzer beater in overtime, on the road to a team that shot over 46% from the floor and made about 80% of their free throws. What exactly was Rice going to add?

I’ve been pretty hard on Udofia, but I have to give him a lot of credit for staying focused through his and the team’s struggles. If he plays like this next year, combined with the new troops coming in and the stable of big men in place, this might be a “bubble” program next year. Miller, Holsey, Morris, Hunt, and Udofia starting with Carter, Royal, Poole, Bolden, and Reed coming off the bench sounds pretty strong. I guess Rice can decide over the next few weeks if he wants to be a part of the turn around or a quitter. It’s up to you JR.

Loss reminiscent of a last second shot by Maryland to beat us last year.
Anyone who thought Hewitt should have called for a foul should make the same remark this year.
What is important to me is Udofia not getting to be the hero.
He probably will not be the one called upon to take that shot next year so maybe his last chance to shoot the game-winner.
I am wondering of we should have fouled or played the three better.
With 3.5 seconds, maybe force them to take a 2 point shoot.
Anyway nothing all that brilliant from the new coach.
What do I want in the first year?
Well he is getting a million and can leave, like all college coaches, any time he wants.
But if fired, the contract is written in stone.
That ain’t right.
