Tech’s Rice suspended
Georgia Tech guard Glen Rice, Jr. has been suspended indefinitely by coach Brian Gregory. Rice, who was also suspended for the first three games of the season, was not at practice Friday and will not travel with the team for its game Saturday against Virginia Tech.
Gregory did not give a reason for the suspension or offer further comment.
Rice leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring and rebounding. With Rice suspended and backup center Nate Hicks out with mononucleosis, Tech will play the Hokies with eight scholarship players, not counting two former walk-ons put on scholarship this season.

Let’s just look for the immaturity factor (behavior-wise) around the team to lessen considerably – from all appearances, Rice, Jr., became as much (if not more) of a distraction as a scorer. Hopefully, he’ll learn from this & regroup – for whatever career he’ll have and otherwise. Now, Coach Gregory and his staff will spend even more time returning this team to the winning ways that were commonplace under Cremins!
