Tech’s Rice suspended

Georgia Tech guard Glen Rice, Jr. has been suspended indefinitely by coach Brian Gregory. Rice, who was also suspended for the first three games of the season, was not at practice Friday and will not travel with the team for its game Saturday against Virginia Tech.

Gregory did not give a reason for the suspension or offer further comment.

Rice leads the Yellow Jackets in scoring and rebounding. With Rice suspended and backup center Nate Hicks out with mononucleosis, Tech will play the Hokies with eight scholarship players, not counting two former walk-ons put on scholarship this season.

Trash? Tech will forever own that title. In 1989 3 Tech football players beat the ever living dogsh#t out of a female student at a local pizza pub, putting her in the hospital. 2 of the 3 players remained on the team and were apart of the 1990 team that proudly claims Colorado’s title. Trash is any Tech fan that claims that 1990 year, or anything else that scumbag Bobby Ross did.

LOL. Trash at UGA? Well it appears Tech has some trash also. Maybe now we will stop hearing that Tech’s athletes have to meet such high standards that they don’t have thugs.

Show me where I said anything about Kemp. Also, explain to be what Kemp has to do with Tech athletes putting girls in the hospital and being able to remain on one of your most prized teams? You might want to think before posting, you look foolish.

And it was a pizza pub, btw. Only a trash Tech fan would try and argue that it makes any difference.

If Rice had played for Richt at Georgia, he would have been suspended for one non conference game….. Congrats to Coach Gregory for doing the right thing. Tech basketball is in good hands. I look forward to the upcoming years! Great recruiting class coming in, a brand new facility and a bright future. Oh, and in a terrible year, we still beat the puppy dogs from up the road. We are back on track! Go Jackets!

otheo, whether you mentioned Jan Kemp or not, whenever that is brought up on these blogs, it’s like it was so far in the past that who cares? Like it is not even relevant. And so you come on here bringing up something that happened at Tech 30 years ago like it had happened this week. You can’t have it both ways. If what those 3 jerks did 30 years ago is relevant to anything going on today, then so is the Jim Harrick affair, the Jan Kemp affair, the Sylvester Bohler, the Terrial Berriea affair…..the list goes on and on in UGA history

By the time he’s 24, Glen Rice Jr, will lead his prison team in scoring, and tell all his teammates about what could’ve been.

Maybe he and Crittenton will be the same backcourt duo??

To be or not to be talking trash about Tech on a sports blog regarding Tech? Kind of a strange question to ask yourselves dog fans.I already know the answer, “well there’s a tech troll on our blog.” Grow up. Also, go to the opinion blog for social/political discourse…if that’s what you call it.

You are the one that brought up Kemp ya nutjob. You are also the same clown that day in and day out spews lies on here about the purity and genius of Tech athletes. And fyi, since you CLEARLY cannot count, the Kemp affair (in which no one was sent to the hospital) was over 30 years ago. Ross’ criminals putting a poor girl in the hospital with a broken nose was only 23 years ago.

Btw, has your favorite GT player Crittenton committed anymore drive by’s lately???

otheo,it doesn’t matter who brought up Kemp…..YOU brought up the mess when Ross was coaching, as if that has anything whatsoever to do with anything going on today. And who cares how many years ago it happened, or that anything else happened; they are all in the forgotten past, except by you mutts who have to live in the past because you don’t have anything in the present to be proud of. But since you insist on living in the past, why don’t you tell us about YOUR murderer; does the name Terreal Berrea (or however it’s spelled) mean anything to you? How about Sylvester Bohler pulling a gun on his own teammates. If you want to dredge up the past, then you’d better be careful where you point fingers, bubba. And, BTW, I have never said that Tech athletes were geniuses, but the simple fact that they are able to get into Tech says they are smarter than most of the yokels that go to the University (sic) of Georgia.

What does Kemp (in which no one was sent to the hospital over btw) have to do with UGA fans giving you a taste of your own medicine??

Here is exactly what happened. You thought you had a zinger and were simply trumped by the most heinous, barbaric act to ever occur between the two schools athletic programs. A shame that YOU and your fellow cheat fans have to own.

Deal with it and just think twice before trying to zing UGA fans on here in the future for giving you a little grief over your thugs. Or be reminded on here again of your “proud” former players beating up women and hospitalizing them.

otheo, go back and read. YOU posted at 11:36 your reminder about the affair in 1990. I still want to know what that has to do with anything. I don’t deny that it happened, and I don’t make excuses for it. You, however, continue to bring up incidents at Tech while totally ignoring similar or worse acts at UGA. Was the 1990 incident bad? Of course, it was. Was it inexcusable? Of course it was. Was it the most heinous ever? I have no idea; I don’t keep score nor do I keep track of all the events that have happened at either school involving athletes. It really doesn’t matter whether it was or not. The fact is that there are kids at both schools (ALL schools, for that matter) who do stupid, even criminal acts; some get away with it, and some don’t. It is obvious that you just want to dredge up past events involving Tech athletes and totally ignore similar events that happen with UGA athletes……for instance your bringing up Crittenton while conveniently ignoring Terreal Bierria.

@ Let me out here, bug……so if somebody breaks into your house, that means it’s ok for you to break into somebody else’s house too? That’s the kind of “logic” your 4:38 post employs. And regarding Gregory and his treatment of Rice, did you ever stop to think that it’s nobody’s business why he has suspended Rice. Nothing was ever even implied that a crime was committed. I have no idea why he suspended Rice, and I really don’t care; I trust that Gregory did what was necessary under the circumstances, whatever they were. Beyond that, it’s none of my business, nor yours either.
