Greetings-
Hope all are well and ready for Game No. 18 of the Brian Gregory era. A friend asked me if I thought Georgia Tech will get into the 50’s. Virginia is No. 2 in the country in scoring defense at 51.1 points per game and has had a week to stew over its loss to Duke and get ready for the Jackets, who, as you might remember, managed just 50 points in its 61-50 loss to Maryland Saturday in its poorest offensive game of the season.
We’ll see. I see a game in the 50’s and a lot of floor burns. Enjoy the game.

I was in here last week after our 19 point half vs Maryland stating that these players are Hewitt left-overs. Hewitt recruited street ball players – not ones that were taught the game fundamentally. Therefore, none of them know how to shoot the ball through the hoop. Oh, they can drive the lane and lay the ball up but that is the extent of it. Hopefully Gregory will go to the smallest little towns and find the youngsters that spend all their free time out back just shooting baskets. Ala Mark Price. Those are the players GT needs to be successful.

Both UGA and Tech need to realize that neither team is going to be very good this year. Hewitt always had pretty good recruiting classes, so who knows what happens to these guys when they get to Tech. Fox is still fighting many bad years of basketball, so he has his work cut out for him to turn things around. I believe that UGA has the better coach, but Tech has the ability to get better players. Both teams are going to struggle the next couple years.

finally made it to a game, been out of the US, conflicts with my kid’s games…wish the team had showed up, only Hicks & BG showed any passion, & that includes the people hibernating in their seats…i’m old, but i’m not a fogey, 2 old frats in front of me, 1 turned off his hearing aid & called me an —hol for being too noisy, other asked me as they were moving if i was sitting there again, hope they made it back to their opera seats at the muppet show…..hard to believe we had fun in the 80’s at the thriller dome, folks last nite probably only get excited when their financials come in….most people i know get more excited watching on tv, dawg fans right when they say we have a largely pathetic fan base……..

Just face it, the current team just isn’t any good. No point blaming anyone. This is year one for Gregory and all I ask is that he and his team improve year over year. With that being said, looks like he and this team are setting the bar pretty low for this year.

You guys do have scoreboard on my Dawgs. Of course I understand that is not setting the bar very high. At least it has kept the trolls quiet this morning.

Players that have left since last season!!! Shumpert (starting in the NBA), Oliver our 2nd leading scorer. Coach doesn’t have a whole lot of talent but I think he is the man for the JOB and it beats the fool out of CPH!!! THE REAL FOOL/THEFT!!!!

I don’t like trashing your own players no matter how poorly they do.
This group nearly beat Duke.
Now because some of u cannot handle losing, they go right under the bus.
Some fans some of u are.

Well, at least we can inbounds the ball this year. That’s some improvement over Blewitt.

What a pathetic joke!! GT Basketball will not be relevent again for 50 years. They should join the southern conference in hoops at a minimum….football isn’t that far behind being garbage either…The BBall’s unis should be sports bras and skirts with heels. Pathetic losers including BG.

From another blog & I completely agree:
There’s multiple top 100 recruits on this team (Udofia, Holsey, Royal, Morris) and the best player is one who wasn’t (Rice Jr.). There’s a solid rotation of bigs and what on paper should be a decent backcourt. This team just isn’t well coached right now. Maybe they will be later on in Gregory’s tenure, but right now I’d be willing to bet that Hewitt would have a better record with this group. And that’s NOT a compliment.
Last night was an absolute embarrassment for this program. There is not a single valid reason for GT to ever play that badly. EVER.
