Young held out of Sun Bowl for Tech
Georgia Tech cornerback Louis Young will not play in the Sun Bowl for disciplinary reasons, coach Paul Johnson said Monday.
Johnson declined to elaborate, but did say that the discipline may extend past the bowl game.
“We’ll see,” Johnson said. “For now, he’s not eligible for the bowl game.”
Young will be replaced by Jemea Thomas in the starting lineup. Jamal Golden or Mike Peterson are the likely replacements at the No. 3 cornerback spot.

hahahaha im a dawg fan, but it amuses me to see uga and gt fans argue on the blogs. Like dawg fan on page 1 posted like have funny at a pointless december bowl which is unneeded. Then gtbob tries to save the day by giving crap about how bad the outback bowl is even though it is one of if not the best non bcs bowl. It just annoys/amuses me some of the arguements each fan base comes up with.

hahaha example 1 stumpknocker. The outback bowl is a great bowl. Like thats just a dumb arguement tech fans and dawg fans will just think you’re an idiot. I know i laugh at uga fans who try to knock on like florida or tech and the arguement is just idiotic. Just think and also it annoys me how when a uga player has trouble with grades its oh what a thug, uga is letting them by and a bunch of stuff. Now a tech player has trouble with his grades where are those people (even though i’m sure some uga fans are letting yall have it….. another dumb arguement.

Now as for low level bowls ………………..sure UGA has been to plenty and won and lost em.
GT IS a CONSTANT in low level bowls. Here are the facts: GT in 1955 was in the Sugar Bowl. Next time they were extended an invitation to a MAJOR BOWL was 1966 and they played and lost in the 67 Orange Bowl to Florida. I watched that game.
Next major invitation INCLUDING 1990 when the Citrus was a low to possibly mid level bowl was the 2009 Orange Bowl and another humiliating loss for GT.
Now since 1955 ……………….UGA has been to around 20-25 MAJOR BOWLS counting the Orange in 60 to the 66 Cotton, 68 Sugar and the 74 Cotton and the 75 Sugar Bowl and the 80,81,82 Sugar Bowl ( 1 win, 2 losses for the NC) and either 83 or 84 Cotton where we defeated # 1 Texas 10-9 and then yes, a long wait for a MAJOR until the 92 Capital One where UGA stomped Ohio State and QB Kirk Herbstreet and then the 2001 or 2002 Sugar and about two or three more Sugar Bowls and Outbacks and another Capital One or so.
See? UGA has maybe 20 or 25 MAJOR bowls to GT’s THREE since 1955. You have to go back that far BECAUSE IT IS THAT LONG AGO that GT even attended a MAJOR BOWL beyond the 67 and 09 Orange Bowl.
yes, both of us have done plenty of Liberty, Weedeater and Gator and Sun ( Fox Sports News ranked this year’s Sun Bowl # 27 out of 35 and said UGA’s OUTBACK BOWL was # 5.) and Blue Bonnett Bowl games and Music City and Emerald City,etc. Heck, I even recall Joe Pa stomping Bobby Dodd in the Gator in either 65 or 66.

Word from a few players… The Jackets have taken it easy in preparing for the upcoming Bowl game. We will look sloppy again and drop an ugly loss to Utah.
Forget the fans… It’s all about making this a fun experience for the players. 8-5 here we come. CPJ has an awful bowl record… Figures because that’s when we play quality teams.

Thanx Insider. I knew the host team would have more fans at the game anyway. Utah was the western host in San Fran when Tech lost to them in Emerald Bowl.
