Georgia Tech cornerback Louis Young will not play in the Sun Bowl for disciplinary reasons, coach Paul Johnson said Monday.
Johnson declined to elaborate, but did say that the discipline may extend past the bowl game.
“We’ll see,” Johnson said. “For now, he’s not eligible for the bowl game.”
Young will be replaced by Jemea Thomas in the starting lineup. Jamal Golden or Mike Peterson are the likely replacements at the No. 3 cornerback spot.

Great line by JB on Bradley blog: “When on his death bed, that N Korean dude uttered-That Tech D, it bad.”
Despite all this my prediction is GT 35 UT 27

Oh no….nobody from that prestigious trade school on North Ave could be suspended. They just recruit the finest young men… like Rueben Houston, Joe Hamilton, Reggie Ball, Kenny Anderson. And let’s not forget the thug basketball player from gt who was just sent back to GA to face murder charges.

Hey WnE ….does that stand for WhiNEy UGA fan…I guess that calling any UGA fan a whiney fan is an oxymoron huh?
I’ve got a serious question for all of the UGA wannaBEE Tech Fans…how on earth did the SEC runner up (UGA) end up out of the BCS Sugar Bowl picture??? I know that the Sugar Bowl is an SEC bowl game, so how could they not select the precious pups?? What is even more amazing is that they selected a mediocre ACC team who got pasted in the ACC championship over the mighty bull pups!! What gives almighty mutt fans? I keep hearing how the ACC is such a joke, but low and behold the ACC is the SEC representative in the Sugar Bowl!!!
Ya’ll keep on posting to the Jacket blog you sad bunch of losers. The SEC has turned their backs on you too. I guess that at least you feel better since you can sort of be apart of the ACC by posting here!!! If laughter is the best medicine, then I will live forever laughing at you UGA losers!
PS, how many Tech fans do you ever see posting to the UGA blog….a grand total of ZERO….you bunch of losers…I feel very sad for you all….but keep your chins up and remember in the famous words of Scrappy Doo, “puppy power”. I bet that made you feel better and more inspired!

I for one would much rather go to the sun bowl than to the music city. I was hoping for a Champs Sports bowl bid. It really doesn’t matter as long as Tech wins the D@#N game! I’m not going to knock the Outback Bowl, Raymond James on New Years Day when its 70 degrees isn’t a bad thing by no means. What does blow about the Outback Bowl is the 11am start time! I mean getting to the stadium at 8-9 am the morning after partying for New Years Eve is a little much!

Only 2 teams from a conference to a BCS bowl.
The only way 3 teams can go is if the 3rd team is conference champion and there are 2 teams that are ranked #1 & #2.

@Really?, it’s very sad you believe violent crime is something to “Laugh Out Loud” about. You should pause and reflect on your statements. It’s not a joke. It’s a very serious problem. I realize you are just trying to make a disparaging remark about The Georgia Institute of Technology, but don’t you think your statements are over the top? Should you not be writing the governor of Georgia and the Mayor of Atlanta stating your concerns about this serious issue? I assume you or anyone you know has never been a victim of violent crime. I hope you never will experience it but can you at least show some empathy for the victims? The best you can do is go on a sports blog and bring up this issue? You certainly could do more…possibly? If not then you have bigger issues which would require a mental health specialist. Look in the mirror, search your soul and make the decision that’s best for you and society. Thank you in advance.

I hate that Young got suspended, but he got beat the most between the corners. Although, Young was the better blitzer of the corners. Thomas is better in coverage, tackles better and contributes more to the team. Also, if everyone quit responding to WnE and the rest of the negative bloggers they will stop posting.

None of you have a clue about the suspension, and due to confidentiality requirements established by law, unless someone waives the information, you have no right to find out why he was suspended. What we do know is that it wasn’t due to academic reasons due the timing of grade releases and to Paul Johnson’s statement, but the matter could be as simple as missing a class, or being late for a team meeting or practice. Speculation is a moot point because it won’t get anyone any specific answer.
I would also suggest to all of the UGA fans “visiting” our blog and making snide comments about this suspension, to look back at your past history and then think about what may be in your immediate future as well. The Bulldogs have a history of suspending players as well, and it’s very possible there may be some around the corner.
Finally, I might remind everyone these are 18-23 year olds who are away from home for the first time, and some of them mess up occasionally. Cut them some slack, especially this time of the year.

DawginLex,
When soembody is going to question CPJ’s ethics and then refer to CMR having high intigrety then I have to laugh. What kind of integrety does it take for a grown man to call a teenager he does not know or related to and sing happy birthday simply to get him to commit? Whay kind of integrity does it take for a grown man to set the example by cheating and breaking set NCAA rules to recruit them? Where was the integrity when all his athletes were having legal and school problems and he did nothing till a new AD came to town. CMR does not wear the white hat some want to put him in.

north avenue trade school fans prove once again they are hypocrites as well as sore losers, virgins, delusional, depressed, smelly, childish and well you get the idea.
One of their many thugs gets nailed for a criminal offense and they want to say “Golly gee wiggles he’s only a teenager so what if he was selling crack to pre schoolers leave him alone.” These same sad little bugs were screaming for blood whenever one of Georgia’s wholesome players was late for class. Speaking of class that’s something cpj and his thugs in pads don’t have as well as talent or intelligence.

Jacket Man……….You are incorrect. There are no legal restrictions on telling what the reason for suspension is for. It is solely up to the AD or Head Coach to decide.
Also, the Sun Bowl was a good trip 30 years ago when you could party in Juarez, but drugs and crime have completly shut down all decent places to go, you cannot find any place you would take your wife or date to. Rental cars are not insurable in Juarez. Unless you want a new pair of Dan Post or Tony Lama’s you will be bored stiffless in ElPaso.

Really, you have absolutely no idea why Young was suspended. So get off your stupid-as-hell high horse and realize that for every so-called “thug” you can name who played at Tech, there are at least an equal number who played at UGA. If you want to talk about Crittenton’s case, which has absolutely nothing to do with Tech, since he only played one year and that was 4 or 5 years ago, then you need also to talk about Berriea’s case—a former UGA safety in jail for 1st degree murder now. That has no more to do with UGA than Crittenton’s case does to Tech, but what’s good for the goose is good for the gander
