Three quick thoughts.
1. Missed opportunities in the first half. The first play, not scoring a touchdown after reaching the Georgia 2-yard line, the timeout on the missed field goal. I’m hardly convinced it would have made a difference, but it reduced the Jackets’ margin considerably. The third quarter extinguished it completely.
2. The Tech pass defense didn’t cut it. Most times, Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray had time to throw and open targets to throw to. Sub-par all the way around.
3. Tech proved again it can run the ball. Against the No. 2 run defense, the Jackets cleared 225 yards. However, it wasn’t nearly, nearly enough. The Jackets needed some sort of big play or three – a blocked punt, a long punt return, an interception taken back for a touchdown, an 80-yard touchdown run – and couldn’t summon it.

Tech fans, we just got beat today! I don’t like taking the blame for any loss, but I’ll take a little blame for one call I made today. Taking that timeout before the field goal was immature. I don’t think it made that much of a difference though. Rememer fans, I did beat UGA in 2008! You all can’t seem to forget that, which I love!

The issue with Tech hasn’t changed, namely – the school simply can not recruit the same type of talent top to bottom that the big schools can (Yes UGA is a Big School)
Until Tech can get the same level of athletes, and I am not talking one or two standouts like Megatron, but top to bottom depth, they simply will never consistently beat UGA.
I think someone earlier mentioned it, PJ’s time here has been good overall, but in the biggest games, against the best quality of opponents, GT comes up short. Winning 7 games in the mediocre ACC does not make a good team.

I have to give it to the DAWGS…. they played….. OK. On the other hand, GT did not play OK. Furthermore, there did not seem to be much desire in Tevin Washington. He is not Nesbitt, and he has lost his passing mojo. Days proved that much. This regular losing is really getting to be annoying. Maybe we should see if OLeary will come back. After all, he is good at beating UGA, whether he is at GT or at UCF !!!

I watched the game on TV with a group of UGA fans. When the cameras panned the crowd, we laughed our rears off. That tiny little stadium filled with all that red and black was hysterical. And the shots of the Tech student section was unbelievable! Where do the students come from?

As a Dawg fan I respect PJ as a coach. The problem is the kids you need to win big are not interested in that offense and Tech just doesn’t have enough athletes. GA had not been able to run all day until the fourth quarter and the GA line dominated and ran out the clock.

Hey Tech Tony, thanks and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday. @ UT-GT, I told some of my friends that if the same team that played the Mildcats last week showed up this week we were in trouble. I think that CPJ is a good coach, but I don’t think that I would say that I would be worried about the game. You guys are missing the LINES, both your Offensive and Defensive lines are small and I think that you can hang with anyone for about 2 quarters, but then the size starts to make a difference. Now let CPJ get a QB with an arm and some BIG linemen, then I will be worried. I also wanted to add that I think that you guys may have the QB thing taken care of in a year or so, that Freshman you guys RSed this year is going to be pretty good from what I hear.

Old Gold, why is beating us more important than winning the coastal? If we lost to Florida every year but still won the east, it would not bother me one bit. That gives us a chance to win the SEC and usually play for NC.

Tech had it’s chances in this game. Tevin Washington just cannot find the open guy or throw the ball well. On the other hand, it was funny listening to the announcers saying when UGA was up 31-10 ” why is Georgia going for the touchdown when they should be burning the clock??” Bobo’s boneheadedness even has the media wondering.

I am sick and tired of losing to UGA. If our coaches can’t recruit good enough players to be competitive, then fire them NOW. If good players don’t want to come play for a “high school” offense then change the offense. If the schools academics are too hard to attract top notch players then let’s stop putting a football team on the field. Fire CPJ!!!! Do something constructive!!!!!!!!!!!

Why in the world did CPJ stick with Tevin is not a quarterback Washington all year. Anybody with eyes could see that he sucked at that position. I was a real CPJ fan for a while. I thought, man I can’t wait until he gets his own people in here. Now that I see what kind of person he can get in here, I am so not excited about GT football. If DRAD don’t fire CPJ, then fire DRAD and the new AD and fire PJ.
