Three quick thoughts.
1. Missed opportunities in the first half. The first play, not scoring a touchdown after reaching the Georgia 2-yard line, the timeout on the missed field goal. I’m hardly convinced it would have made a difference, but it reduced the Jackets’ margin considerably. The third quarter extinguished it completely.
2. The Tech pass defense didn’t cut it. Most times, Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray had time to throw and open targets to throw to. Sub-par all the way around.
3. Tech proved again it can run the ball. Against the No. 2 run defense, the Jackets cleared 225 yards. However, it wasn’t nearly, nearly enough. The Jackets needed some sort of big play or three – a blocked punt, a long punt return, an interception taken back for a touchdown, an 80-yard touchdown run – and couldn’t summon it.
What do you think?

The best part was witnessing the sheer cowardice and lowly nature of the Tek fans after the game that immediately became LSU fans since their own team can NEVER take care of their business against their masters.

Please accept our invitation to the Smurf Bowl. It is your home away from home and where you truly belong, so the nation can take delight in watching your team getting destroyed by a mighty WAC squad.

We are really basketball school and hoops is the only sport that really matters. All of our football players are future rocket scientists and Nobel Peace Prize winners anyway and care nothing for the actual sport. See you on the hardwood mutts, playing the only real game that counts.
No one wanted to hear my two predictions
November 27th, 2011
9:24 am
Last week, I predicted that Aaron Murray would carve up GT’s corners and safeties by using Chris Conley and Mike Bennett and Malcom Mitchell and Orson Charles and Aron White and Bruce Figgins and did I say Marvelous Marlon Bown and Tavarres KIng. IT WAS ACCURATE.
Seond prediction was that GT simply would not be able to move the UGA middle D line and that the UGA D was not the same old UGA D that CWM had in 07, 08, 09 and that our D this year was far superior to the D of even last year. ACCURATE AGAIN>
Another prediction ……………..CPJ IS ON THE HOT SEAT.
JOHN BELK BOWL is GT’s for the taking.

Some of you Tech folk are over reacting. PJ is a great coach, he just has neither the qb nor D right now. Mind you, UGA has a great D, much bigger and faster than any you guys went up against all season. He attempted to do some things his qb was not capable of doing. The D needs a couple of big bodies on LOS, Groh may or may not get that. This losing streak started before CPJ arrived. As a Dawg fan I know what you are going through (Florida). Just do not react with emotions and realize as 9:13 said. Could be worse, you could have the misfortune of being brought up Clemson fans.

“Good Game” to the Georgia Tech fans. While I am happy as a Dawg fan that Georgia won the game, I don’t want to “woller” in Tech’s defeat.
You have an admirable program that needs a few tweaks(same as UGa) on your defense and special teams. Ga Tech had some great victories this season, especially that one against ‘Clemons’.
Ga Tech fans have nothing to hang your heads over.
Go Dawgs!

UGA loves their position. Win vs LSU ( after playing in the WORLD FAMOUS SEC CG) and receive an invitation to the SUGAR BOWL for the 4th time in 11 years.
UGA loses to LSU and receives an invitation to the Cotton Bowl or the Capitaol One or the Outback Bowl. All FABULOUS venues and a TRIBUTE TO UGA’s BRAND.
GT?? Charlotte, NC’s John Belk Bowl is calling. The winner receives FREE CHEESE GRITS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Kirby Smart

Kirby Smart will never, ever coach at GT. He will likely become UT’s new coach when they fire Derrick Dooley after next year. If Ole Miss approached KIrby, he would reject them too. Why on earth would Kirby even consider doing an interview with GT??
GT if/when they decide to rid themselves of the CPJ freak show triple option, they will only be able to attract a low level, unkown coach.
Remember …………………BILL CURRY a BOBBY DODD DESCIPLE ….. LEFT GT for SEC Alabama. See? GT is respected only by younr folks with ho sense of school history or fools. CURRY LEFT GT, so that tells you what even the ALUMNI THINK.
Goooooooooooooooooo Dogs.

GT fans and LSU
November 27th, 2011
9:56 am
GT fans SHOULD BE LSU fans, as LSU SIMPLY STOMPED them in the Chic Fil A recently. GT’s funky triple option only works well vs non athletic teams like Duke or Maryland or Boston College or Elon College or Millsaps or Citadel or Davidson. SEC schools stand up well vs the triple O.
By the way, VANDY STOMPED WAKE and SC stomped Clemson and UGA stomped GT, so that pretty well sums up the ACC ……………… ONLY VERY average SEC teams stomped the better ACC teams. See?

More wisdom from the Blind Dawg
After reading about half the post here I have several tidbits to offer. It is a given GT cannot and most likely will not sign top shelf players because the curriculum is limited and entry difficult. It has little to do with the offensive / defensive scheme (there are a ton of players that can excel in the TO).
CPJ has an offensive system that works well with 3 & 4 star players. The defensive scheme (3-4) will never work with the players GT can recruit and sign. IMHO GT needs to find a defensive scheme (coach) with a system that can work with the talent GT can sign a system that compliments the TO.
Good luck in the Sun Bowl – make the state proud.

One more tidbit. I keep reading about UGA’s success coming from the weak SEC schedule. The target seems to be the teams we played from the west. Well guess what folks Bama and LSU padded their schedule playing the same teams. Could it be the questionable west teams have lousy records because they played very good teams?
UGA won the games scheduled save Boise and SC. I think if we played them today the outcome would be very different. SC didn’t dominate UGA they won more on a fluke than anything. Most pundits don’t give UGA a chance to beat LSU – but we will see.

QB’s make the differance between losing and winning. I really don’t see T. Washington beating out S. Days or Vadd Lee next year. Days looks so much more athletic and Lee is supposed to be a really good athlete with a super arm. Hey we’re a really young team and can only get better. I like our future with CPJ, but we must tighten up our pass defense. Safety play has got to be stronger, and we must sign a few really good D-lineman. J.C. Lanier needs to be put back on defense. He would provide much needed size. And for you Kb you’re an idiot I think the only teams that Tech would have a problem with that you mentioned would be Vandy and Fla. But good luck against LSU. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TECH. Oh I forgot to mention my opening comment is true just ask Tubberville, and Fulmer. Their misjudgeing of their teams QB talent led to their firings. QB’s make the differance.

The ONLY reason UGA is in the SEC CG is because USC actually played some of the REAL SEC teams.USC BEAT the teams in the EAST and played1 of the ONLY good teams in the West.

Tech fans, like me, should find something else to do in the fall and quit wasting Saturdays (most already have) on this inept football program. It is really disappointing and depressing to try and support a program that is this bad from the AD to the ticket office. It is too expensive to support this program that cannot compete at this level

I have several questions for Tech fans:
Why was your stadium not full for your biggest game of the year?
I literally did not see one hot woman wearing yellow, why?
How does it feel to lose to UGA every year?
How does it feel to lose 5 bowl games in a row?
How many muggings or rapes took place after the game?
Are you excited about the SUN Bowl?

GT coaching must be very good for the team to be even semi-competitive. UGA players were bigger, stronger and generally faster. On most plays UGA appeared to have one or two extra players on the field. They didn’t but it seemed that way.

Thanks to the CLASSY Dawgs who have posted here, and especially Old Blind Dawg, for keeping things in perspective and not resorting to insults and trash talking. Unfortunately most Tech fans would have resorted to the same kinds of posts had Tech won. There is nothing wrong with CPJ’s offense that a good TO QB with consistent passing won’t solve; hopefully Vad Lee will provide that. But Tech’s defense is TERRIBLE and after signs of improvement early in the season is now worse than last year. UGA’s defense has improved and was moderately effective Sat, but what won the game was a QB and receivers who were on fire against a miserable defense. As much as I hate to say it, I will—–THE BETTER TEAM WON. PERIOD.

supersize gt should get rid of pj.His old style option is and has been dead for years. There are coaches out there that do run variations on the T.O. which do function well in todays style of football. The forward pass does not work in the pj style because it stops the clock to often and is a risk in the turnover catagory.pj wants the clock to run and control time of possession.gt will never recruit the type of players needed to play in the big leagues as long as pj is at tek.

No this was the year to beat UGA, next year UGA will be a lot better then this year, but so will Tech. both teams are pretty young.
GT lost the game at QB, TW played awfull, he has not been that bad all season. I think T Washington was the wrong call to start all year, never played great unless defenses were just totally confussed. Hope Vad Lee or Demon Smith are ready next year, Tech need a QB that can step up in big games. Hope one turns out like Robinson of Michigan, that the only way Tech will be a major facture is if they get a special QB

superDawg, finally an intelligent post from you. Very good. However, Johnson only BUILDS the offense around the TO; he does not run it exclusively. The offense he runs WILL work, with all the variations he throws in, WHEN he has a QB who can pass efficiently and effectively on a consistent basis. Washington FINALLY threw some more-or-less short passes in the game Sat, but he didn’t or couldn’t read the defensive alignment well enough to know WHERE he should be throwing them, and as a result he flopped. Yes, Johnson loves to control the clock, and when the ground game (be it TO or toss sweep or whatever) is clicking, it does effectively control the clock. But he’s also smart enough to know that the time to control the clock is when you are actually in control of the game. Tech was never even close to being in control of the game Sat, and so he needed and attempted to pass, but Washington FAILED.

Defense keeps you in games – Tech has no defense – no way around it. A few here point out the success early in the year – bad analogy – you were playing really weak teams. As the schedule got stronger the defense was exposed.
CPJ needs to burn up the phone lines and find someone that can do on defense what he does on offense which is make plays with 2 – 3 star recruits.
Oh yeah 5150 – if the TV guys didn’t see it obviously it didn’t happen – get a clue.

OBD watched the replay this morning and it was a bad call. Each Tech player had a different UGA player engaged. The UGA player and Tech player holding each other fell and hit the UGA and tech players beside them. That is NOT a Chop Block. That happens ALL the time. CSS will replay this game a million times. You go watch it and see the play. There was NO foul.

Steve Tech left 7 on the field on the first play. With the pass going to HILL it would more than likely have been a TD. That is HUGE in this game as you know. Not Scoring from the 2 and settling for a FG was big too. So yes the game could have been a lot difference. As i guess you know football comes down to mostly 1 to 3 plays that decide the game.
