DURHAM, N.C. – Hope this finds you well. I’ve finished the Cameron Indoor Stadium tour and have finished counting the dozens of fans at Wallace Wade Stadium and am ready for some ACC football.
A few things I’ll be watching:
1. How does Georgia Tech try to defend Duke quarterback Sean Renfree and the Killer V’s – wide receivers Donovan Varner (Duke’s all-time leading receiver) and Conner Vernon. Blitzing and playing man coverage or more zone and wait for Duke to make a mistake.
2. What does A-back Tony Zenon do with his snaps helping fill in for Orwin Smith, out with an undisclosed injury?
3. What kind of energy and intensity does Tech play with after getting knocked out of the ACC race? Can the Jackets put the game away early?
That’s about it. I’ll be checking in. Enjoy the game.

Bring the heat. Make Renfree earn it. Hit that kid on every play and he will fold.

I’d give up plays for big hits on the QB early any day of the week. There are only a few Brett Favre’s in this world.

The Dawgs must be getting excited about getting to play against Groh next week. Even if they have their top 5 running backs out again, they will still run for about 200 yards. It is time to let old Al retire and move back to Virginia.

We’re just not a great team yet. You can’t let a team like Duke hang around. My gut tells me we go 3 and out here. Hope I’m wrong.

My phones blowing up. Every text is about the D. Every week for as long as I can remember. Cost Joe the Heisman. The 90 D was great. The Black Watch was great. Other than that………beats the heck out of me.

Maybe if Vad continues to gain some weight/muscle, he will be a stout QB. He has a bigger frame than Washington. With the way our offense is designed to have a pounding dual-threat QB because of the QB playing so close to the line of scrimmage, we need a bigger QB than Washington. Atleast one that is stronger.

Jacketfan12, that’s a good point, but knock on wood Tevin has stayed healthy despite the pounding, and Nesbitt did too. Just hurt on a freak play. Vad should be able to take the hits becuase they normally come from the side as opposed to straight on. Not sure a big strong QB would have the speed and touch to run the triple option.

I disagree, Richt’s sorry @ss did just enough to stay on another year. This game is lose/lose.
Lose and well, we just lost to Kentucky. Win and we get full of ourselves again and get humiliated in the Dome.
I’d give Ga Southern more chance against the likes of Bama.
BTW, have you seen the FLA/Furman score?

IC is a wimp.
I like the kid…but he doesn’t seem to handle pain well.
Better keep those grades up.
At least you can get a college degree.
You won’t be playing in the NFL.

Ken, it was close……….very close, but I think he was in. THe best angle didn’t show the ball, just the knee. THe one they ran the most made it look like the ball crossed the plane at the moment the knee hit.
