Georgia Tech-Duke live blog
DURHAM, N.C. – Hope this finds you well. I’ve finished the Cameron Indoor Stadium tour and have finished counting the dozens of fans at Wallace Wade Stadium and am ready for some ACC football.
A few things I’ll be watching:
1. How does Georgia Tech try to defend Duke quarterback Sean Renfree and the Killer V’s – wide receivers Donovan Varner (Duke’s all-time leading receiver) and Conner Vernon. Blitzing and playing man coverage or more zone and wait for Duke to make a mistake.
2. What does A-back Tony Zenon do with his snaps helping fill in for Orwin Smith, out with an undisclosed injury?
3. What kind of energy and intensity does Tech play with after getting knocked out of the ACC race? Can the Jackets put the game away early?
That’s about it. I’ll be checking in. Enjoy the game.

that was closer than it needed to be. Atleast we beat a terrible, injury-ridden Duke team, and let them score 30+ against an ACC opponent. Oh well. Prepare for the doggies now.

Tech was not impressive on defense, but Duke was ready to play and Tech came out flat. Lucky Tech got it together on offense.
I’m glad for the win.

Come Dawgs ….. you’ve got a huge game on 12/3 to prepare for. You’ve got 2 weeks to get ready for whoever comes out of the West. Actually not a good thing b/c UGA doesn’t know if they’ll be playing LSU, Bama or Ark.
Somebody take Murray, Crowell, 3 OL’men, 4 WRs, and 8 D starters ice skating this week so they can crack ankles.

Which Georgia team will we see? The dogs rolling Auburn or struggling with Kentucky? Tech has work to do for Georgia. Of course, the dogs will be ready for Tech as always. I hope it’s a good and well officiated game.

Ugh… based on our last two games…that 330 lbs. offensive line next week will probably have its way with us. So it will be up to the offense to score lots of points. I don’t see us holding Georgia to less than 40.

ESPN’s box score, under GT Rushing, lists BJ Bostic 1 car 3 yds. As Steiner said, I hope it’s a misprint.

CPs fumble was really TW’s fault …… he should’ve never handed him the ball – the OL’man got destroyed on that play and was knocked back into CP as TW was giving him the ball.
What I hated for CP was the catch he had up the sideline ….. might have gone all the way if he keeps his feet.

Someone needs fired over this embarrASSment. Coach Johnson is 1-3 vs Va Tech, 0-3 in bowls, 1-2 vs UGA (soon to be 1-3?). I just hope we don’t have to endure this for another 3 or 4 years. I give him through next year. If no improvement, we need to move on. They wonder why we don’t sell out the stadium or sell only 20,000 season tickets. Should not be too difficult to figure out.

Enough, also, with the ‘a wins a win’ comment. You sound like Johnson who probably will say 38 is more than 31. LOL. We needed to beat Duke by 30 to show we are a good team. Anything less was really a loss. So I say ‘a wins a loss’ today.

Georgia Tech stinks. Beating Duke 38-31? You let Duke hang a 30 burger on you? Well I got news for you…good luck stopping our offense next week. Our defense will limit you guys. Todd Grantham has had a year to get prepared for what type of offense you run. Last season was his first season going up against it. Now he knows how to come up with a plan to stop it. Tech won’t be able to run it up the middle because of how big our D-line is. Biggest they’ve seen all season.
