Georgia Tech outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu will sit out the first half of the Yellow Jackets’ game against Duke on Saturday as punishment for throwing a punch at Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas last Thursday.
Tech coach Paul Johnson made the decision after reviewing the game video. He said he decided on a half-game suspension as that would have been the punishment had he been thrown out of the game and because the strike was out of character for Attaochu. Johnson said he gave Attaochu additional disciplinary measures that are between him and Attaochu.
“It’s out of character for him,” Johnson said. “Certainly, that’s not his M.O., and that’s why it’s not more. But I think that certainly, we don’t condone that and I know he’s learned his lesson, but there still needs to be something. You have to pay a price when you mess up.”
Johnson said Attaochu, whose strike of Thomas drew a personal foul penalty and was a momentum-changing play in the Hokies’ 37-26 victory that dropped the Jackets out of ACC title contention, was embarrassed and sorry for his action.

HighTech, gotcha, but like I said, he would be better served to put some kind of disclaimer or explanation in with each of his posts.

@But, be careful. I don’t worry too much about that, he’s built just like my older brother who was a collegiate O lineman back in the 70’s and at his heaviest he weighed 290. He’s now a trim 235lb and I still would want to take him on LOL!

….we can agree to disagree – the momentum did swing but there was still plenty of time left in the game. Also, you liked the 4th down call to go for it, I thought it was dumb – my rationale was that even with the usual 25-30 yard punt by the Tech punter VT still had to drive more than 35 yards to score, and a lot of things can happen during those extra 30-35 yards…plus time is taken off the clock…

Therealjmar.tumblr.com is also obsessed with his own weight. He blogged that he started off at 125 lbs. when he began law school but hulked out to a massive 145 lbs. lol

@Supersize, if he’s good enough to play at UGA he’s good enough to play bout anywhere LOL! I will say he hasn’t shown any inclination to go there though. His offers to date are from Sun Belt and OVC schools but he does have some SEC/ACC interest.

Supersize…I think whoever is doing the mocking was hoping we would pick up on it. I became curious when someone on here wrote about Vad Lee having a twitter stalker who is a UGA fan pretending to be a Tech fan. Just seemed wrong to me to stalk teenage recruits.

I think whoever is posting as Mr Marcus has exposed the troll himself (JM). He certainly seems to have a lot of free time on his hands. Apparently it doesn’t take a lot to get your lawyerin done throughout the day.
I used to not worry about that weight gain,either......

…playing D1 ball back in the early 70’s I weighed in at a mighty 185lbs and could not gain no matter what I ate or how much I lifted – then I had 11 knee surgeries and have been unable to do any physical activity after three knee replacements since age 33 and have gained 60 pounds – while not “fat”(Iam 6′4″) I am definitely “overweight”, and my only vice is that I am addicted to food (and I do not, and never have, drunk beer)…

Regardless whether Mr. Marcus is affiliated with that fpj blog, he clearly (and easily verifiable) graduated from UGA’s law school and thinks rape is funny, or at least so it would seem from his personal blog.

I’m not certain what recourse anyone would have against the author of the blog. I would just like to know his identity so that we can confirm that he’s a UGA fan.
The funny thing is that being a UGA fan, in itself, is not a sufficient reason to discredit an opinion about Tech. I think being dishonest about who you are is, though. It also tells me that we have the right coach.

As a “DAWG” fan I hate to see a team play dirty and get away with it. This happened to Georgia in the 2010 game with auburn and they paid for it this year. I played for one of the best high coaches in Summerville South Carolina and we played a clean game, and if not we were gone.

The problem with going to Nashville is that it’s too close to fly to, and too far to drive….6+ hours from Augsuta. And I hate that drive over the mountain in Chattanooga.
