Georgia Tech stays in coaches poll

Despite losing to Virginia Tech Thursday night, Georgia Tech remained in the USA Today coaches poll, dropping to a tie for No. 23.

The Yellow Jackets fell out of the Associated Press writers poll, falling to No. 26. In last week’s poll, Tech was ranked No. 21 in the AP poll and No. 20 in the coaches poll.

Win our last home game and it’s been a good season—win a bowl game—even better. THe reports on the B-ball team sounded good—-low turnovers, better FT shooting, and they were able to inbounds the ball. Things are still looking up

Which game would you rather play in...

…the Orange Bowl as ACC champs and playing against a crappy Big East team (Cincinnati?), or possibly, as the bowl prognosticators project for VT if they lose to Clemson, in the Sugar Bowl in ‘Nawlins against either AL or AR?

We don’t deserve that ranking. A win against Duke is questionable with this team. Georgia will absolutely demolish us…..again. This is absolutely getting ridiculous. When I graduated from Tech, we had a 3 game winning streak against Georgia. Where are we now??? 1-10.

Beat Duke, as we should, and we are 8-3 and ranked, facing the Doggies at home. This team still has everything to play for. I will give the Dogs credit, they looked great against Auburn and I will wish them luck in the SEC Championship…just not against Georgia Tech!

For the same reason VT is ranked ahead of Clemson, who hammered them in their own building: Because polls are freaking retarded.

Let’s take care of Duke first. They are playing much better football and will not be easy. Beating Tech would be a season maker for them. GO JACKETS! STING ‘EM!

The flea-bitten varmits did look strong against AU. Hopefully, they get overconfident and start looking ahead to LSU. We still can get double digits in the W column.

Amazing video of a high school player from Columbia TN who kicks the ball dead straight 80-85 yards in the air. He was successful on 54 of 54 attempts this season….100%. Now he needs a college team.

Watch for yourself…it is unreal!

If we beat the mutts they’ll say they had bigger fish to fry, lose and it’ll be the same old crap. I’ll never predict us winning, but I’d love it if we did. Not too bad for a rebuilding year…

The coaches poll means nothing…… We have beat ONE team all year, and after the VT game I wonder how that happened…. We could possibly lose out, and then what…. I picked us to go 7 and 6 this year…. Time will tell…

I thought..

…last year was the rebuilding year at Tech..afterall, theya re all CPJ players now….

And, isn’t it Tech that has bigger fish to fry than UGA, at least isn’t that what CPJ says about losing to UGA…

We are not Oklahoma or Alabama. We CAN NOT overcome bonehead personal fouls. Great teams can like the 2 i mentioned or Oregon. We are not at that level. That was the dumbest, most idiotic penalty – especially when they would end up punting to us and we had a 5 pt lead!!! Whoever the player was – he is an ass! I’d throw him off the team regardless of needing him for Duke, UGA and a bowl. The season was ruined with that one move.

a rebuilding year. if you remember we had a 4 year starter at qb in nesbitt. obviously not a jacket fan but rather a troll.

if there is such a thing as a rebuilding year it is this year. afterall we are the second youngest team in the bcs. auburn being the youngest.

as far as cpj having all his players in place we still have chan gailey players graduating this year.

this is cpj’s 4th recruiting class. his first recruiting class came late. after chan gailey was canned. he had so little time to recruit all cpj could do is hope to keep the players chan recruited.

i have a question for you dawgs…… what was the over and under for tons of trash left on the uga campus after the auburn game? how many uga building got urinated or defecated in? we jackets want to know. lmao you puppies are a pathetic group no matter if you win your division or not.

GT will have a tough time with Duke. GT’s defense gives up too many big plays and has a tough time stopping the run. They will out score Duke, but GT’s defense will not get too many three and outs. As far as the Georgia game goes, GT is in trouble. Georgia is on a roll and their defense is excellent against the run. I predict Georgia will be a -11 point favorite over GT.

we are a young team. very inconsistent.

we had you guys were we wanted you but that foul took too much out of us. we are not good enough to survive a change in momentum. young teams are like that. sigh.

cpj is trying to set up our program like wake and boise. lots of 5th year seniors. that takes time. no shortcuts with that kind of program building.

yes we will have our hands full with duke. depends on which gt shows up. the youthful mistake prone one or the one that plays with confidence.

Remember Georgia has NOT had to play LSU OR Alabama this year. One reason they are 8-2. Auburn, Tenn and UF all suck. USC is the only tough SEC team they played – and they lost!

You guys beat the expectations.

Barely.

And they aren’t always right. But they usually are.

Bottom line 08 was the high water mark for CPJ.

Its all downhill from here.

It will be double digits easy.

1. ACC vs SEC Enough said
2. UGA owns Tech.
3. Sanford Stadium East is UGA’s home away from home. We haven’t lost there in a long long time.

I love when people take the exception and make it the rule.

The SEC routinely wears out the SEC.

Sure you can take an extremely small sample size and make it look good for the ACC.

But if you look at the bigger picture the SEC dominates the ACC and to deny that you are either.

1. Lying to yourself.
2. A fool.

Which is it ?
