Center Jay Finch (leg) and guard Will Jackson (neck) did not practice Tuesday as Georgia Tech returned to the practice field for the first time since defeating Clemson Saturday night. Johnson said he was hopeful Finch could return to practice this week as Georgia Tech prepares for Virginia Tech next Thursday. Johnson said tests found nothing wrong with Jackson’s neck, so “it’s just a question of when he feels like he can come back.”
Guard Shaquille Mason, who has been rotating with Jackson, played the entire second half against Clemson, Johnson said, and acquitted himself well.

It always hurts to lose experienced players but I am enjoying see a young man that I watched in high school learnign on the job and doing well. Shaq Mason played at Columbia Central HS in Columbia TN and helped that team win a state championship in 2010. You could see his talented as a HS OL/DL and I was thrilled when he signed with Tech! Jay Finch will be back, he has a motor beyond belief and will push himself to get back asap! My son played HS ball with Jay when Jay was a senior. It’s good to see young people with this kind of character representing Tech!
Go Jackets!

Mason and McRae played well against Clemson. It is great that we are now seeing some depth building on the O-line. Next year we will be a solid two deep across the entire line with all the backs back with the exception of Jones and Lyons. Add Bostic and Snoddy to this group and there may be some records set next year.

I have a favor to ask y’all. Does anyone have an extra ticket to the UGA game? My brother in law is going to be in town and would love to go. Thanks for any help you can provide.

George, I think they will
We’re now trying to figure out where he’s going to go to college. A lot fo that depends on scholarship offers.

Hey again nerds,
It’s been a few days since I last posted. Got myself locked in the janitor’s closet at the QT. Hey, it happens. You guys still celebrating that victory over Clemson??? As if they were truly the 5th ranked team in the nation?? Sure, by the pollsters perhaps, but they do come from the ACC afterall. So again, 5th in the nation?
Buahahahahahahahahahhaha!

Our injury situation pales in comparison to VPI, in fact ours is quite good. I don’t have the details but read recently that they have several defensive starters that have been lost due to injuries.

I heard Finch singing o version of a Zac Brown song, except his lyrics went “Well I’m knee deep in your sister somewhere…” Maybe that is how he hurt his leg?
