Georgia Tech-Maryland gets noon start

The ACC has given Georgia Tech’s Oct. 8 home game against Maryland a noon kickoff.  ESPNU will televise the game.

Including Maryland, Tech will have had three consecutive noon starts, starting with Kansas and North Carolina. The 3:30 p.m. feature game for that week is Miami at Virginia Tech. While Georgia Tech could enter the game with a 5-0 record, Maryland does not appear to be much of a draw, aside from its uniforms. The Terrapins are 1-2 and lost 38-7 to Temple on Saturday.

Actually Tech’s first game wasn’t a noon start. It started at 7:30.

man, these noon kickoffs make for way too early of a tailgating session. you would think they would give us a 3:30 or 7pm slot sometime.

Newt- that was a Thurs. night game. we have a hard time filling the stands without asking them to be there mid-day on a Thursday…

I am not trying to get ahead of myself, I know that it is a week-by-week season. BUT, IF tech and clemson both go undefeated going into the tech-clemson game on October 29, then ESPN College Gameday could very well come to ATL that weekend. Then we would all finally get the night kickoff that we have been looking for. Even if Gameday does not come to atlanta that day, the game could still get an evening kickoff. Would make a HUGE game.

Aside from that (dream), we need to continue to take care of business EVERY week and let everything else fall into place. If we play like we should on Saturday, I think beating NC State by 14+ is easy..

Well, I guess we will be tailgating after the game.
I know DRad has stated that he prefers all Sept games start @ 7p, all Oct games start @ 3:30p and Nov games start @ 1 (or noon). Looks like the ACC and ESPN isn’t listening.
Oh well. Guess the team and fans will still show up.

The worst part is before maryland lost to Temple the jumbotron at the stadium listed the game as 330 kickoff, and then changed it later when Maryland tanked

The night game was a against a lowly FCS program in WCU. While I still think the stands should have been filled, I understand why they were not. All the legitamate home games we’ve played have been at noon. In some ways it sucks, yes, but at the same time, all we can do is keep showing up and supporting the team in hopes that they will keep on winning. The UNC game was encouraging (almost full, and pretty loud) but we can do better, and I think we will.

I like noon game we play better at noon… we play our usually worst games at 3:300PM that why we REALLY have to watch out this next game with NCST

And after he got coach of the year in ACC.
Go figure.

Staying on a win streak more important than the time we play.
Traffic is probably a lot lighter for noon games as well.
Later times will come for VT, Clemson, Georgia and maybe Miami games.

I’m sorry for my huge mistake of hiring Ray Goof.
Then hiring a 2nd goof named Donnan.
Before Adams and me hired the Reverend Richt.
Why can’t we beat Florida?
All my bad hires, that’s why.
No need to annoy the Techies for my incompetence while the rest of the league takes turns winning the NC.
They know we’ve lost our relevance and have to point elsewhere to cover our decades of mediocrity.

Did you see where the Jackets have a 5th year senior did not return to play his last year because he had been hired for a special Microsoft training program?
That might happen to a Dawg player too?
Get real.
Must be tough to get an education degree from Uga with all the cutbacks and lack of hiring there.

noon — 12:30, what’s the difference? Both are too early. And the UGA – Ole Miss game was at 12:20 OUR TIME, which means it was 11:20 in Mississippi. Last year’s Tech game at Kansas was at 11AM Kansas time. That’s just too damn early.

DRad’s thinking makes sense but it would get the schedule backwards like Georgia’s.
