Greetings, all-
Quick post to let you know Georgia Tech has taken the field for its first practice. Players are wearing jerseys, shorts and helmets, per NCAA rules regarding acclimatization. They can put on shoulder pads after two days of practices and full pads on the fifth day.
Offensive linemen Catlin Alford and Phil Smith were among the first to arrive at the Rose Bowl field for the 3 p.m. practice. I didn’t see quarterbacks Tevin Washington or Synjyn Days, which leads me to suspect they got there even earlier.
We’ll have more after coach Paul Johnson speaks with media after practice ends around 5 p.m. (Practice is closed to media and the general public.)

Practice makes, …. well, lets not set sights too high just yet, but but good practices and repitition will go a long way toward meeting / exceeding goals and having a successful season. (No prima donnas, no self-proclaimed super stars. TEAM goals and accomplishments will trickle down into individual awards and rewards.)

CPJ is gonna turn it around this year just like he did at Navy. If you love CFB like me, you should try this site out. I started my free trial after hearing about it on Barnhart & Durham and it is really awesome.

maybe in this heat GT could invite some of the high school teams to practice in the new facility when the Jackets aren’t using it. It couldn’t hurt recruiting. GO JACKETS

Letting a HS team use the indoor facility is probably a big NCAA violation.

vt blanks sheep……..good idea. But just thinking about doing what you propose violates 16 NCAA rules. If you ever discuss it with any one you are up to 31 violations and $50,000 fine. I think your post just cost GT a scholarship for next season. Damn!!!

Give Me A Break: A very inappropriate and unnecessary comment about the UGA player. He paid his fine and is not in trouble with the law. Was never arrested. Why don`t you find something nice to say about somebody?

So cpj and gailey recruited about the same. Then it’s settled that cpj’s high school offense just won’t work for major football.
I think you’re out of excuses cpj, you stupid.

Hey Samrty seems the high school offense runs up and down the field enough to lead the nation in rushing yards. Don’t know where you are from but if it’s inside the state, chances are you guys have not stopped it yet.

That’s funny, I don’t care who you are!! Here’s a little lesson… Better players = WIN most of the time in football.
Question, I heard Reggie Ball was the engineer on a new building in Atlanta and forgot the 4th floor…so the NCAA said he would need to repeat his Senior year…is that true??

Rambo the last I heard it was 1 out of 3 for this offense. This year it could 2 out of four. In case you need coaching in arithmetic that’s 50%. By the way in case you cannot add, we are talking about the so called high school offense you spoke of for the last 4 years, not records from 10 years ago. You are correct in one thing stats do not always win football games, but sooner or later if you cannot stop an offense you will loose. Lady luck will equal out.

Oh, I can count…have had plenty of practice making deposits from my Tech buddies that are dumb enough to bet on the game, which is MOST of them. Odds for this year are 3 to 1 UGA, and will be better after we get into mid November…ok, we will just count Paul Johnson games…so it will be 3 out of 4, so that;s ,uhhhhhhhh 75% I believe!

Its not wise to count wins before its over. That’s why the game is played. Forecast, is that you sorry a?? defense will fall short again, not only in the final game of the season but also the first two. If Johnson had the talent your coach had there would be no doubt of a national championship. You guys are underachievers. You guys will struggle again all year because of poor coaching and lack of discipline. What’s a Rambo dog anyway?
