Georgia Tech guard Omoregie Uzzi was named to the preseason All-ACC team Wednesday, the only Yellow Jackets player on the squad. Uzzi, a second-team All-ACC selection last fall, received 21 votes out of 51 ballots turned in by media members at the ACC football kickoff event earlier this week in Pinehurst, N.C.
Uzzi was just one of four non-seniors on the team and the only Tech player selected. A junior, Uzzi helped Georgia Tech lead the nation in rushing last season. He was also recently named to the watch list for the Outland Trophy, which goes to the outstanding interior lineman in the country.
Uzzi has become a leader for Tech’s young and inexperienced line.
“Omoregie’s a guy with more experience than anybody else (on the line),” coach Paul Johnson said Monday. “Hopefully, he’ll lead by example.”
Also, former Tech quarterback Joshua Nesbitt is close to signing with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted rookie free agent. The Bills are coached by former Tech coach Chan Gailey, who recruited him to Tech. A year ago, Gailey signed former Tech offensive lineman Cord Howard as an undrafted rookie. Howard made the team and ended up starting four games in 2010. Former Tech defensive back Mario Butler has joined the Dallas Cowboys.
Other possibilities include safety Jerrard Tarrant, offensive tackle Nick Claytor, linebacker Brad Jefferson and running back Lucas Cox.

Isn’t being named first team ACC kind of like being awarded the skinniest kid at fat camp?

A few facts about your UGA that you might consider:
1. UGA is the nation’s #1 party school. That means that UGA has the highest number of drunks on campus of all the colleges and universities in the U.S. These drunks keep the Athens-Clarke County jail full, and provide full employment to law enforcement personnel, bail bondsmen, and attorneys. Really something to be proud of, isn’t it.
2. UGA athletes are some of the most illiterate morons in the country. Most of them take remedial studies, which is the stuff that most kids learn by the seventh grade. But not your dummies, who you laughingly call student-athletes. The very few who actually graduate have worthless diplomas in worthless studies that no employer is looking for.
3. Even your fans are trashy, stupid drunks. Take a look at what your campus looks like after a home game, and check the number of DUIs the police issue between Athens and Atlanta after a game.
4. Your athletes must think that ankle monitoring bracelets are bling, they see so many of them in the locker room.
A really miserable, sorry place, and a huge embarrassment to all Georgians.

I am not sure how Butch Davis being gone from UNC is a help to Tech. I think it will cause some upset players at UNC. Many of the guys really backed Butch. I guess the timing is to lessen the NCAA penalties coming. UNC is a good school and the fake school work really Pi$$ed the Administration off.

Give it a rest will you TROLL BOY?
Even the GT folks want you to shutup and to disappear.
The only thing miserable and sorry around here is your breath according to your boyfriend.
Talk about embarrassing? Your waist line.
Illiterate morons? Too bad you had to have your mom type your blog posts for you.
Ankle stuff? At least we can see our ankles when we look down. You have to get a full length morror and stand 20 feet away from it to see yours.
Drunk? Anyone of the female sex would have to be that and more to be seen with you.
That about covers it.

Claytor is certainly proof that not all Tech athletes are very bright! He would have started at Tech this season and instead he left early for the pro’s…was not drafted…and is currently not even signed as an undrafted FA!!! LOL

I’m sure Nez will find some pt in the pros. If he ran it all the way for a td against Clemson, and stole the ball from the FSU player, and used to seem to enjoy running into several tacklers at the l o s, instead of following a coaches orders to down it before getting tackled in order to not getting hurt, that’s what the pros want. I think Nez’s calling is at Seattle where Steve Raible played and is in the area where the Nez Pec Ce indians are.
