Mommy said I can use her computer again because I quit acting like a jackass all the time. I’m still an idiot, but there is one thing I know. The Jackets will kick the dawgs from one end of the field to the other. You guys will hang a half dollar on our pitiful defense.

Please, please respond. I’m 60 years old and have played Div. 1 football. I can never understand why you accept negativity towards college kids. I know it’s a trend now …. but is it right. Let me explain if the AJC doesn’t get it. There again I played in the early 70’s. and in a different time but ………… right is right. Isn’t a college or university about preparing a kid for the future? Whether it be from sports are not? Of course MOST kids will never play professional sports and if they do it’s only short lived. Colleges or Universities should be about educating kids who have done well in class and sports (if so desired). Although this is a sports blog you welcome or at least tolerate ( I’m trying to find the right words that explains 45 years of what many colleges have sold themselves out to be). Bloggers rag on students who want to play a sport and get a REAL degree. Sir or mam ….. this is so wrong and why you let ignorant posters just let wail on who see’s the bigger picture, is beyond me. Sure you can hold up the first amendment but what do you feel is what’s right …… were talking about 18-22 years old. Some should be in college and some shouldn’t. College is something you earn by going to class and studying hard for 12 years and maybe you’ll get accepted for your endeavors on the field and off. Again keep in mind that I played Div. football but also got a great education that I could depend on later. To accept people who only want a football degree is wrong !!!!!
Please please stop the negativity towards the opposing teams and only accept congratulations for your own team. Negativity will get you no where in life and only shows your ignorance. The AjC can control this if they desire. I still cherish the Furman Bisher, Jesse Outlar days of sports writing.
