The Yellow Jacket Caravan will make its first stop in Macon. Athletic director Dan Radakovich, football coach Paul Johnson and Wes Durham will be at the Idle Hour Country Club. The event, which will be open to the public, begins at 6 p.m.
Tech asks guests to pre-register at http://ramblinwreck.com/caravan.html.
The caravan will hit Tampa on Thursday and Dalton on April 19.
The finale, scheduled for May 3 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, will include new men’s basketball coach Brian Gregory.

After watching Debbie Yow and the NC State coaching search fiasco, I am so grateful we have Dan Radakovich and Brian Gregory.

I am certain many businesses in Central Georgia closed early today for the big Yeller Jaket caravan. There hasn’t been this kind of excitement in Macon since, well since, well….. NEVER, it’s a big happening, bigger than the Allman Brothers and the Cherry Blossom Festival, that’s just how dang big this Caravan is, BIG man, big. No doubt the highways will be clogged as excited GT supporters flock to IdleHour. Will there be a big “Fish Fry” tonight? I’m guessing there will be a huge turnout, huge by GT standards that is, I’m looking for 58 to 59 attendees.

Captain: Why don’t you shut your classless mouth and crawl back under the front porch steps with your mother?

Now, don’t be too rough on the captain. That’s what happens when inbreeding, crack-smoking, and dog-humping intersect in the same person.

After NCSU’s AD’s desperate email last night and the anticlimatic hire of Gottfried today, I am more grateful than ever for Dan Radakovich and Brian Gregory. Gottfried is a good man and a solid coach, but what a PR trainwreck of a search and a disappointed fanbase.

Lookng forward to hearing from Gregory, CPJ, DRad, et al, on May 3 at the Tech Conference Center. I probably won’t see the Captain there, unless he’s on the sidewalk outside washing windshields or scoring rocks.

They say the reason State didn’t hire Gregg Marshall was that in the interview he slipped the “shocker” to Debbie Yow.

Press Release. Athens, Georgia. 7:15 pm April 5, 2011.:
The UGA Athletic Association would like to caution it’s fans and supporters that the roaming caravans of gypsies, Irish rovers, and various miscreants traversing the State offering to seal driveways, fix hail damage, and clean outhouses and pigsties are not in fact the UGA 2011 Coaches Caravan. Neither are those mormon guys in white shirts and ties on bicycles. The Official UGA 2011 Coaches Caravan will be conducted out of the back of a prison bus, as a sign of solidarity to the rising “dream team” of recruits in all sports. It should be arriving at a trailer park near you.

I find the Tampa stop interesting. Its difficult enough for them to drum up interest for crap like this in their own backyard. We’ve all seen the empty seats at football games. Its well documented. So how in the world is anyone in Tampa going to give a flying flip? Its kind of random.
Thanks.
