Former Georgia Tech safety Jerrard Tarrant is off to a good start at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Ind.
Among the 10 safeties, he is listed as a top performer in all of the events that have been posted on nfl.com/combine:

7th in the 20-yard shuttle….4.21 seconds

Tarrant, 6-1, 205 pounds, is projected as a mid-round selection by the draft analysts at ESPN. He left school after his redshirt junior year in which he had 55 tackles, recovered three fumbles and intercepted three passes.
As a cornerback in 2009, he recovered two fumbles and had two interceptions.
Tarrant could also make a splash in the NFL on special teams. He returned two punts for touchdowns in 2009.
Some NFL teams may have questions about the legal issue Tarrant experienced early in his Tech career when he was charged with rape. Those charges were later dropped.
