Rice not in starting lineup

If Glen Rice doesn’t start for Georgia Tech and no one is there to see it does it count?

With an eyeball estimate of perhaps a 1,000 fans at Alexander Memorial Coliseum for the start of Wednesday’s game against Virginia, Glen Rice was held out of the starting lineup for disciplinary reasons. He entered the game at the 13:22 mark.

Rice, a sophomore, is Tech’s second-leading scorer (13.9 points per game) and rebounder (5.6 per game).

You can follow game coverage on twitter @ajcgatech.

I will try to find out more after the game.

Also, at least it doesn’t seem to have affected our chances

halftime – did well against duke the first 16 minutes and the same with uva. hopefully we can continue. took the ball in nicely to danny miller the first five minutes then stopped.

as when i went to tech, i was happy when they won and not upset when they lost, kinda expected. after bobby got there, i was pissed when they lost and expected them to win. back to the old days. maybe next year when ph is gone i can once again get upset when they lose.

I had free tickets but decided to stay home to watch American Idol and Survivor.

Embarrassingly low fan support. Apparently the tech fan base including the student body have quit on another tech team. Why in the world would tech waste the little money they have on a new gym? Idiots!

I’ll buy tickets for the last game if DRad gets the guts to fire Hewitt tonight. Embarrassing loss with and embarrassing “crowd”. This team has no heart or leadership

What time is the daily “Fire Paul Hewitt” discussion??

Doug, can you ask phew why we didn’t press the entire game to speed up the tempo which was clearly being controlled by UVA’s deliberately slow pace? We pressed for 2 possessions at the end and the game and got 5 points in 10 seconds. Have you ever interviewed any of the assistant coaches to get their take on the game? Just curious.

What did Glenn Jr do?
Without him and Oliver, game over before it starts.
Sure Rice played but he played ticked off ball which got us 2 points.
Another very winnable game in the L column.
But I did save $10 on parking and gas.

Rice probably got on facebook and talked about what a lousy coach he has

Dave Braine sure wrecked Tech football and basketball.
Who hires our ADs?
Homer Rice’s buddies always argue with me that he was a decent one but look closely at all his hires; even Bobby Ross’ total record. Curry was a terrible hire. He lacked sufficent experience. Bill
Lewis managed a player mutiny and our worst season in fifty years. There was no one else better for all those bad choices?
I think Bradley was teasing us that we could have hired Calipari instead of Hewitt.
Don’t know if that is true.
Too bad Braine doesn’t have to attend to meet all the fans his actions have angered.

VT went to a zone with 5 minutes remaining.
Switching things up was a shrewd move and a strategy Hewitt doesn’t have.
Short a big man for the Maryland game, I wondered why we didn’t use a zone or at least try one.
Others wonder why we don’t press more since it usually works but too late to win the game.

1,000 fans!!!!

At least that’s more than what you nerds get when you have a home football game.
