Georgia Tech quarterback Tevin Washington said he has been preparing as if he will start against Air Force in the Independence Bowl on Dec. 27 in Shreveport, La.
Coach Paul Johnson practically put to rest on Thursday any chance that Joshua Nesbitt had of returning from his broken arm to play in the Dec. 27 bowl game.
“I hoped that he would get a chance to play,” Washington said. “That was a hard way to go down as a senior. But I have to prepare the same way.”
Washington, a redshirt sophomore, has played well since Nesbitt’s injury in the Nov. 4 game at Virginia Tech. He is averaging 54.7 rushing yards and 53.7 passing yards per game. But in games he has started, he is averaging 96.3 rushing yards and 97.3 passing yards.

how are tevin washington numbers better than nesbitt? anyone who knows football can tell nesbitt is better than tevin. tevin would be perfect at ga southern or some other FBS school but here playing with the big boys he is just too small. another PJ recruit who doesnt match up well with big boys of the acc and sec. he might have a shot against air force though as they are about equal. but in no way is tech better with washington or any other qb running that offense ther than nesbitt or someone like him.

Apparently being the “Minnesota of the SEC” is superior to being the defending ACC Chumps. Of course you’re a Fairley fan. Like any crybaby Techie, you’re a fan of whoever can beat UGA. Your pile of dog crap football program sure can’t do it.
Its just too easy running circles around these Techie idiots. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

I am completely obssessed with the incredible Georgia Institute of Technology. I realize that I could NEVER be accepted at such a nationally ranked school. I don’t care that my UGA lack of an education is so evident in the sophomoric posts and infantile humor that I use. I utilize dozens of screen names (dawgfan, Sanford Drive, 30-24, etc.) to give the impression that there are many Dawg fans like me.
My obsession is in evidence all over both UGA and Tech blogs. I post at all hours of the day and night. These blogs are the most significant expression in my life, which is the result of having no friends, no girl friends, no job, and no hope. I blame my own shortcomings on others which is why I enjoy spending so much time on these blogs criticizing Tech. My obsession is one of hatred, bitterness, and envy. I am dawgfan.

Nice post dawgfan. I understand your obsession well because I am dawgfan also. Ever notice how Sanford Drive and dawgfan support each other’s posts? That’s because we’re the same poster, or imposter to be accurate. Why do I obsess and spend so much time on these blogs spewing venom about the finest school in this state? It’s because I was rejected by Tech and I am determined to deride anyone and anything that represents Tech. It’s the only way I can get back at the school. I sit behind a computer screen posting taunts and inaccurate statements to be disruptive on these blogs.Because I can use multiple screen names I can have multiple posts to ‘pile on’ but the distortion and obsession is identical regardless of the name that I post under. I am a sad, pathetic and lonely person with nothing better to do with my life than post this type of drivel to fuel my obsession. If I did have a life I would spend my time doing other things. The proof of my obsession is in the frequency and hatred of my posts. I am dawgfan, I am Sanford Drive, and I am a loser.

If you must know, I live on the Tech blog because I am so embarrassed about my Dawgs. Did you know that we were 3-5 (a losing record for my fellow Dawg fans) in the SEC and 6-6 overall? I know that Tech as a 6-6 record also, but at least the Tech fans have a great school. UGA? We have a mediocre school with basket weaving degrees that everyone makes fun of including other schools. All we have in Athens is a football program that is irrelevant in the SEC and in the nation, and a girls gymnastics team. That’s it, that’s all that Athens offers. So, when the football team is god awful like it has been for two years people like myself have nothing better to do than to go on other team blogs and insult other teams. That way I feel better about my poor dawgies.

I am so angry with myself looking back on the lost opportunities in my earlier life to get a decent education at a place like Georgia Tech instead of no education, no job, no life, no girlfriend, and no friends. All I am left with is the hope (and prayer) that I can associate with a successful Dawg football program. But no, UGA has let me down again this year. So, I guess I’ll hang around here and feel miserable about the Dawgs and maybe I can taunt some of these Tech fans with my garbage posts. Would you like for me to post some scores and Shreveport? First, I said that approx. 75% of the players on the two deep are Chan recruits. I went back and counted… Its actually 27 of 44 (which is 61%). But even still, the top two RB are CPJ recruits (Anthony Allen is a transfer that came because of CPJ). Top two receivers are CPJ recruits. Top KO returner is CPJ recruit. The #2 tackler on the team is CPJ recruit. I’d say CPJ’s recruiting is just fine.

most of gailys recruits left and the ones that stuck around were drafted last year forcing PJ players to play early. nesbitt is a gaily recruit is the only player that can do anything on offense. well there is athony allen who transferred hoping to play for gaily but instead was stuck on this pj team full of div 1aa prospect. allen and nesbitt are techs best players and the smart off linemen ( bedford ) who i think was also a gaily recruit. other than those 3 non pj recruits your team has div 1aa talent. well i think s. hill is div 1a but he chose to play for his favorite team as a kid and now its costing him..poor kid.

I envy EVERYTHING about Tech. The great academics, the great tradition, the location in the capital of the state and the South. The prestige of a Tech degree. The fabulous money that Tech graduates make. The beautiful women that Tech grads marry (women prefer money over redneck dawg fans). I am envious of pretty much everything. On top of that I feel pretty inadequate as a Dawg fan with our football team down. God, it would have been nice to have a great job, lots of money, a beautiful wife and the prestige of a degree from Georgia Tech. Alas, that will never happen for me. I am so jealous.

If UGA is so wonderful and prestigious, why have the big boys NEVER came calling? Do you think Richt wouldn’t drop you clowns like a bad habit if somebody threw some Florida money at him? Ok, so I’m redneck trailer trash and my team the pitiful Georgia Bulldogs (see I can actually spell the mascot correctly every now and then) has had a losing season in the SEC and a losing season after the loss to come in the Liberty Bowl. Redneck Georgia fans like myself prefer to ignore our miserable state of affairs in our own program and try to feel better about our program by criticizing other programs. We hate AU now because we got smacked in the face by Cam and company. We hate UF because they literally own us like a rented mule with Alzheimers. I say Alzheimers because we conveniently forget every year about the prior year shellacking and forecast winning the SEC East and going to the SECCG every year.
UGA didn’t win a single game against a program with a winning record. Not One Single Game. Our only claim to fame this year is being the fourth best academic college in the state despite having the largest enrollment. We are embarrassed with the revelation that we are the nations least serious academic institution with our Top Party School designation. We are also embarrassed about being referred to by other schools in the SEC as THUGA due to the arrests of nearly a dozen players in less than a year as well as the DUI arrest of our married AD in the company of a mistress. UGA is also exremely embarrassed to be the recipients of the Fulmer Cup Award as the bottom program in the nation with the most arrests of our football players.
Frankly, the only thing that UGA fans can do now is to go on the Tech blogs and make fools of ourselves trying to convince smarter fans that UGA really matters. It appears that no one at Tech really gives UGA any respect and that is frustrating for fans like myself. I try to remind them of scores of past games and hope that might anger the Tech fans but it doesn’t seem to be working. Instead, it is the Tech fans that are laughing at me and poking fun at my insecurities and feelings of inadequacy. Of course, that just enrages me more and motivates me to spend my entire day on these blogs desperately trying to feel better about myself and my Dawg football program when the truth is that no one cares about UGA and UGA has disappeared completely from the national scene.
I’m trying everything that I can to upset these Tech fans but it just doesn’t seem to be working. I am a failure and so is my team.

Sanford Drive and superDawg, yeah, I agree. I hate the Tech fans even more because we beat them and they still laugh at us and make us feel inferior. I know that they’re smarter than we are and that’s not fair either. I just wish we could find something, anything that would make the Tech fans upset so that we could feel better about the Dawgs. The scores don’t seem to work and that only makes us look like adolescents. We use Tech $ux, nerds, trekkies, etc. and nothing seems to bother them. It’s just so frustrating being a Dawg fan these days.

Right, so all those CPJ recruits that I mentioned have somehow managed to unseat older more experienced Chan recruits because Chan was SUCH AN AWESOME RECRUITER, right? I will freely admit that recruiting D-1 talent was not expected to be CPJ’s strength when he came in. He was at Georgia Southern and then at Navy. He was brought in for his system. The AD at GT realized that GT is never going to be able to compete in recruiting with the likes of Alabama, UF, UGA, Auburn, and FSU on a regular basis. We area research-focused technical institute. We have higher overall academic standards, and we accept fewer academic qualifiers. No, our football players aren’t significantly smarter than most other schools, but they are smarter on average. In 2007, our football team’s SAT scores were about 100 points higher than the SEC average.
All that to say that I have actually been pleasantly surprised with some of the staff that CPJ has brought in and how our recruiting has seemed to improve every year since he got here. We’ve gotten some key recruits out of NC and VA.

and gt2011 i also read where you think that ga tech only lost on the scoreboard to uga. what are you thinking? the only way ga tech gets that much yardage is by running 93 plays. look at the avg yards gain and you will see uga avg just as much yardage as tech while running 48 plays . and uga still gained close too 500 yards. uga was never in danger of losing that game or the one before that because techs offense is not built to come from behind which tech was the whole game. uga scored at will. the only way that game is close on the scoreboard is because of teh three turnovers uga had. thats like taking points off the board. 21 points to be exact.

chans recruits were recruited to play in the pro style offense so its only fitting that pj recruits, that are recruited to run that armed forces style of offense, unseated chans player as they just simply did not fit for that offense. mostly chans linemen. again most of gailys recruits are gone, the good ones anyways. chan is a better recruiter as far as getting talent than pj but that is not saying much. chan had his work cut out for him at tech as the better players in ga most of the time will choose uga over tech 95 percent of the time.

What would be more fitting for UGA’s stadium than Sanford & Son Drive, home of the Junkyard Dawgs, from the University (sic) of Georgia, The Cesspool of the South. UGA shortened the name to Sanford Drive when students and alumni complained that they were getting laughed at and ridiculed so badly by other team fans. Yep, we are the true junkyard of the South!

I guess we will see how CPJ’s recruits will do. I will say that you already touched on why CPJ and his system are good for GT. As you rightly point out, most top recruits are going to pick UGA over GT (academics are usually the main reason cited by top recruits that pick GT over UGA). So why would we want to run a pro style offense and try to compete for the same recruits as UGA, Alabama, and FSU? Why would we want to run a Spread and compete for the same recruits as Auburn and UF? So we bring in a coach to run a completely different scheme and look at a different pool of recruits. That was a major reason why we also moved to a 3-4 on D, because we can look at different types of recruits for the front 7 than most other schools (although UGA moving to a 3-4 roughly three days after we did, surely didn’t help on this front).

I am really proud of UGA, Sanford Drive. All season they were able to play down to the level of their opponent (so did GT by the way). In the GT game, we tried everything to give you game, and you just wouldn’t take it. So we had to miss an extra point just to help you win. And even after you had the game completely in hand with no chance to lose, you still tried to give us one more chance that we never should have had.
If I were a UGA fan, I would be disappointed by the performance of the 5-star talent and disappointed by the poor coaching (Todd Grantham’s choke signal, REALLY, REALLY?!?!?) Tech fans can certainly be disappointed about this season, but we don’t have to be disappointed that our talent under-achieved or disappointed in our coaching.
