Nesbitt not likely for Independence Bowl
Georgia Tech quarterback Joshua Nesbitt will likely not play in the Independence Bowl, coach Paul Johnson said on Thursday.
He said Nesbitt saw a doctor earlier in the day.
“[That's] Probably not going to happen,” he said. “That’d be a real reach, I think.”
Nesbitt broke his right arm in the loss at Virginia Tech on Nov. 4. A senior, Nesbitt has repeatedly said that he hoped to return in time to play in what would be his last game, though he sounded pessimistic about his chances after practice on Tuesday.
Even if he doesn’t play against Air Force on Dec. 27 in Shreveport, La., Nesbitt would leave as the ACC’s all-time leader in two rushing categories for quarterbacks: yards (2,806) and touchdowns (35). He’s seventh on Tech’s all-time career rushing yards list. He is responsible for 55 touchdowns, fourth-most in Tech history.

Fake Hit a Single – You are wrong it cost $34.34. Ever since Herschel we have charged that. The value is unmeasurable. I do know that it took Billy Payne, a UGA graduate to save the facilities at Tech. Thank God he brought the Olympics to Atlanta. Can you imagine what Techwood drive and the Thriller Dome would look like today.

Doug, unbelievable that you and the ajc would allow this crap to continue. These blogs serve no purpose other than to allow people posted as “sanford drive” and his other aliases to post nonsense and ridicule student athletes. It is a child’s game, of “my dad can whip your dad”. Why are there so many UGA fans on a Tech blog? My father taught me one valuable lesson I have never forgotten. “You can never win an argument with a mentally ill person, so don’t try”. Sanford drive may fit this category. He or she does not accept sound reasoning, fact or common sense. So I suggest do not argue with an idiot, it only feeds an irrational thought process.

Couldn’t you just have posted something reasonable like that to begin with instead of the taunts? What you said is the respectful and appropriate thing to say as a fan, period. So, kudos for recognizing Nesbitt’s acheivements and big heart. The next time you go on someone else’s board you might show better sportsmanship even if you hate Tech, which is your privilege.

And don’t worry about Nesbitt. He’ll be fine. I think he’s got a decent shot in the NFL if he can find another position. 5 years from now all those empty seats in Bobby Dodd stadium will be a distant memory for him.

dawgfan, it’s pretty much number 5, all of the above, since they drove that spike into my head I don’t remember a whole lot after that. Of course, I was able to graduate from UGA with my degree in pre-med. All of my professors said that I had a real future as a cadaver and to hang in there. Ain’t it great to be a Georgia Dawg? woof woof woof
