Evaluating Tech’s bowl situation

Though Georgia Tech still needs one more win to become bowl eligible, it seems appropriate to list the various destinations and scenarios for the Yellow Jackets.

The ACC has numerous bowl tie-ins, and Tech could find itself, depending upon its karma, playing anywhere from Miami to Shreveport.

Here’s a roulette style look at the bowls (listed in order of date):

Orange Bowl, Jan. 3.

Georgia Tech vs. Auburn

How could this happen? Well, the Yellow Jackets would have to win the ACC. It may not seem likely, but keep in mind that Tech has yet to play its best game this season. Because there’s no longer any pressure, they could run the table and with a little luck make it back to sunny Florida.

Chick-fil-A Bowl, Dec. 31

Georgia Tech vs. Arkansas or Mississippi State

How could this happen? It likely wouldn’t, but there’s a caveat. The issue is, let’s say Tech makes it to the ACC championship game and loses. The Chick-fil-A Bowl would have to choose between the Yellow Jackets, who played in the game two years ago, or Virginia Tech, which played in it last year. That’s not a good choice for them to have to make. The bowl is supposed to take the ACC’s No. 2 team, but there are caveats that allow them to choose another team, depending upon various scenarios. That’s how the Hokies, and not ACC runner-up Clemson, ended up in Atlanta last season.

Sun Bowl, Dec. 31

Georgia Tech vs. California or Oregon State

How could this happen? This is a decent possibility, and who wouldn’t want to spend the holiday in El Paso, just minutes away from the serene Mexico border, where almost nothing negative has happened in the past few seconds.

Meineke Bowl, Dec. 31

Georgia Tech vs. a Big East team

How could this happen? This is another interesting possibility. The Big East is so jumbled up right now, the Yellow Jackets could face anyone from West Virginia to South Florida. Louisville or Rutgers are also contenders. New Year’s Eve in uptown Charlotte……bleah. (Note: it is called uptown, not downtown. Why? Because the city’s civic leaders though downtown had a negative connotation. I’m serious. It may have changed by now, but still…)

Music City Bowl, Dec. 30

Georgia Tech vs. Florida or Arkansas

How could this happen? Before the season, if you heard that the Yellow Jackets were going to play the Gators you would have assumed it was the Orange Bowl and that Florida had lost to Alabama in the SEC championship game. Of all the non-Miami cities, Nashville might be the most fun.

EagleBank or Military Bowl, Dec. 29

Georgia Tech vs. a Conference USA opponent

How could this happen? Of all the possibilities, this one may be the least intriguing. D.C. in late December? Pack your thermals. Conference USA…other than Chuck Oliver, I’m not sure anyone is excited about that possibility.

Champs Sports Bowl, Dec. 28

Georgia Tech vs. Big East

How could this happen? This might be the fans’ second choice. If you can’t be in Miami in late December, Orlando’s not a bad fallback.

Independence Bowl, Dec. 27

Georgia Tech vs. Air Force

How could this happen? Though this would likely be the fans’ last choice because of the volume of taunts thrown Georgia’s way during the past year, a matchup between the Yellow Jackets’ option and the Falcons’ option would be fun to watch.

Doug: I think it may be necessary for GT to go at least 7-5 to get a bowl bid.
Even if they get one with a 6-6 record it will be a non-event for most fans and maybe some of the players. Unless a miracle occurs, this season will be a bummer….cannot see us beating VT/Miami/ UGA the way this team is playing now. Too many areas are weak….passing game, special teams mistakes, offensive line, new defense…with too little time to correct these.

Agree with Rockdale Jacket.

We would have to win 7 games to get a bowl bid.

Georgia Tech is unpopular with bowl selection committees b/c we travel poorly.

Any reasonable person would project the following outcomes:

GT 13 Va Tech 47
GT 21 Miami 47
GT 34 Duke 24
GT 17 UGA 47

Sad to say… But I think the bowl streak ends this year.

Whu don’t we play them out, before all this Tech Football stomping. Johnson won the ACC Coach of the Year Award, the last two years. Who could Tech hire, that would do better, than he has done? Granted, this team is lifeless, but I guarantee, that Johnson is battling. Tom Landry didn’t take Dallas to the Super Bowl every year, but he was a good Coach.

VT is the only tough game remaining this year. Miami in cold weather, automatic WIN for GT. Duke and U(sic)GA are about the same level this year….so easy WINS on those two games. Every time I think of bowl season I think of what a waste it is. Instead of a playoff system we are watching meaningless games that are there mainly to fill cheap programing for the networks. It is like watching soaps in the middle of the day. A few guys at the fraternity house got addicted to them cutting classes to catch an “important” series and I am sure there is an audience for cheap football. One way to force a playoff is to stop supporting this, refuse to watch it or go to it. Tech pretty much have by its nature done that anyway. By then the basketball team has not messed up yet and most of our attention drifts that direction.

Let’s have a little faith guys. We are such a “what have you done for me today” society we can’t give a coach that has won 2 coy awards and an ACCC some slack? He didn’t all of sudden forget how to coach. Don’t be that UGA fan that wants to fire Richt every time they lose. It’s utter stupidity.

I’m rooting for tech next thursday, the saturday after that, the saturday after that etc….. Jump off if you guys want too but damn this piss poor attitude of some tech fans. I understand winning is what matters but this team and every other team in the NCAA will struggle at times. Get behind these guys and pull for them to finish the season strong. Negativity is not needed right now. Be critical yes, but stay positive about your team, your coach and your school.

Doug……have things changed? To my recollection GT needs 2 more wins. In a 12 game schedule you must have 6 wins against D1 schools thus our 1st win didn’t qualify. We will need 7 wins total but should get there anyway.

Folks let’s be honest. GT isn’t very good. Middle of the pack this year. Anyone that can say with a straight face that we will beat VT in Blacksburg after we derailed them last year is delusional. VT is the very best ACC team and it ain’t close. National tv in Blacksburg means a big loss.

Another few thoughts:

Any discussion of bowls should be responded to as Jim Mora responded… “Playoffs??!”

CPJ continues to make comments about whether this team is motivated or not. He continues to “hope” that a leader emerges… None has, and there’s been plenty of chances. Guess what? “Hope” is not a strategy. Internal motivation is not doing the job here; time for some external motivation! Kick some ass coach!

Start posting position grades and number of missed assignments in the locker room – you get what you measure!

It was interesting to hear CPJ talk about Clemson “smacking around” our freshmen and sophomores with their juniors and seniors. Is he saying the linemen he’s been recruiting can’t do the job until they’re redshirt juniors or seniors?? Maybe he should start looking at Jr. college transfers.

Maybe CPJ needs to rethink the theory that quick, strong 280 lb. linemen can get the job done against just-as-quick much-stronger 310 lb. linemen? His guys aren’t even close to getting the job done.

Sorry for the rant… I’m just tired of seeing the same-old same-old each game.

i believe that you can have six wins, including one against a FCS-level team, but not two wins.

While Virginia Tech is a very good team…playing Boise State very close and beating N.C. State, which throttled Tech, the Hokies’ schedule hasn’t been as tough. East Carolina is good, but not great. The rest of the wins came against Boston College, Central Michigan and Duke.

The stats are outstanding, but I’ll be curious to see if they are more great than good.

GT dr……..Any playoff scenario would only incorporate 4 teams most likely. Let’s say it would involve 16 teams that would leave about 50 teams still to fill bowl slots. Agree the glut of bowls is overdone and emits a who cares persona but still it is a reward for many teams and seniors and charities.

My solution would be to have every bowl game be over by Jan. 1st. Then take the winners of the 4 bcs games in a two week playoff. This way the season is only extended one week for the final two teams and it keeps the bowls meaningful and the interest higher. I hate the bcs as it is now as does the majority of fans and players. Alas, not the college presidents who impede the move to a playoff system. We will have it one day.

GT’s #1 challenge right now is what I would call
“player mind-set” or “unity of purpose.”

Players are not all on the same page.
Players heads & hearts are out-of-sync right now. It shows.

The second challenge is solidifying O-Line play.
It ALL begins and ends with the O-Line.

As the O-Line goes, so goes the team.

Hopefully, all will be resolved before Nov 4th.

If not, GT will get embarassed in Blacksburg.

To be bowl eligible you have to have 6 wins & one of those can be against a FCS (I-AA) team, so Tech needs 1 more win to become bowl-eligible. And since there are so many bowls I assume Tech will get invited to a toilet bowl.

Doug….I thought if you had a 12 game schedule you needed 6 wins against D1 teams. FSU and WVU played in the Gator last year at 6-6. The only bowl game ever contested where neither team had a winning record. Seems I remember FSU had to win their last game to make it.

Can’t blame VT for their competition and ECU would be a top 5 ACC team. The ACC is so weak it is incredible. 7 of the 12 teams are just moribund. BC, UVA, Duke, MD, Wake, Carolina, and GT just for one reason or another not very good or underperforming.

VT has the best talent and deepest. The best fans. The best coaching staff. The best quarterback. The best turkey legs. Oops, I digress. Believe it that if GT plays well in Blacksburg they can keep it respectable. I’m gonna call it now and not waver…VT 35 GT 17.

Unbelievably, UGA’s bowl ceiling is still the Sugar and our Bowl ceiling is still the Orange. I’ll take that for GT, because hope springs eternal. I still believe that we have the ability to go out and beat the remaining teams on our schedule, because they all have flaws. Its not like we are playing Alabama or Oregon. VT defense gave up 500 yards to NC state and 400 yards to Central Michigan. Miami has the 56th ranked offense in the country and a weak running game (which is tailor made for us defensively).

What gets lost in all that and I am not making excuses for VT is that the game was not scheduled to be played to open up the year. JMU was the opener. VT coaches and AD dud not want Boise as the opener but relented when the ACC asked them for the good of the conference to stage a national game to open the year instead of JMU. Beamer didn’t like it at the time and still didn’t agree at kickoff but the conference won out. JMU game was a fallout from Boise. For a long time I have thought Tech was still in the run for the Orange Bowl, for the exact same reason Doug mentions:

We haven’t played a complete game on both sides of the ball all year (though UNC was close).

But now, I am starting to wonder if this group will get it right at any point this year.

To be a good football team, you need to play well and catch some breaks. We have not played well for the most part; when we have played well, we have caught mostly bad breaks.

For instance, the defense stepped up and shut down Clemson’s first drive of the game. Then came the roughing the kicker penalty to give them an extra chance. They scored the very next play.

Later in the game, the Tech defense forces a fumble and one of our guys appears to jump on the ball immediately. Once the pile is dispersed, a Clemson guy comes up with the ball.

It just may not be our year. At this point, I will be very happy with 7-5, but 6-6 is more likely.

The team will be improved at every position on the field except QB next year…though I hate it, it’s time to start looking forward to next year.

We finish 8-4 and will be playing in the Champs Sports Bowl. I think with Orwin Smith stepping up on the running game we have a chance. Our D is pitiful but who can really blame them. CPJ should’ve never hired Groh. Hindsight would’ve been nice. CPJ should have looked at the talent level on D and made his decision based on that. Our LBs are not very good. Our D-Line is bad, bad. Our secondary can’t tackle their way out of a wet paper sack but with that said we can still win football games. As for those that think UGA will blow us out you must be hitting the crack pipe. I guess UGAs 4 wins are impressive. Let’s see win #1 against a High School team, UT(just bad all around), Vandy(do I really need to elaborate) and finally Kentucky(I just remembered they had a football team). So if we are comparing apples and oranges our schedule has been much tougher than UGA and surprise, surprise we have less L’s. As for UGA they will lose Saturday and the AU game is a sure L and then us which for all intensive purposes is a L as well. That puts UGA out of bowling all around. GO JACKETS!!

When Jim Mora Jr was coaching Roddy White, he dropped the ball a lot. After one drop, Mora dropped to one knee. A good coach never does that, non-verbally throwing his player under the bus. Suddenly this player with no confidence is the toast of the league. Fortunately before the Falcons had ruined him completely, he got much better coaching.
That is why I place our drops on poor coaching and fans ready to get on players with each drop.
Like with Mora, if you blame the player for the whole system’s failure or weakness, you can turn a great receiver into a crummy one.

I call the roughing the kicker penalty a bad break. He was clearly going for the ball and could not change course in mid-air when he laid out for it. The call should have been running into the kicker.

Aztec…..not sure I agree really. If Tech ends up in Shreveport or DC I would respectfully disagree. Hell we didn’t even get inspired play in the Orange or Chicken Bowls recently. Sure bowls are rewards for a season of practices and effort but the only reason any bowl will do is because the ACC says any bowl will do. Teams split the payouts from all bowl revenue. GT will take the company line that they are happy to be playing in Shreveport or DC but the players I’m not so sure.

GT told the ACC they would never again play the blue turf as did other teams. The ACC sought out other bowl affiliations. So, no, not any bowl will do.

Rableon….. The players heads were not in the game and that led to a quick lead for Clemson. Regardless that player should never have been in that position. Understand the situation and not go for the block. On the road you stop them and set up a return and get good position. The game turned on that early mistake which was avoidable. Can’t blame the ref. Agreed with penalty as the ref gave him the max probably for stupidity.

UGA took GT to the woodshed last year? Did you even watch the game? For all of the rushing yards our D gave up, we were down by 6 and in a position to win the game in the last minutes of the game if our offense had executed. You make it sould like the final score was 50-7.

Dadgum…..,
You’ve made some good points on here and seem to have your head on straight and are willing to have an open and frank discussion. I agree that VT played well in the 2nd half of Boise game, and that the JMU loss was just fallout from playing 5 days after an emotional loss. However, can you explain VT’s defense giving up 500 yards to NC state and 400 yards to Central Michigan?
I totally agree with you that GT players have lacked focus and intensity this year, can’t really blame the refs for any of our losses. However, I still believe that things can change. This is college football so emotions play a big part. Teams can rally for all kinds of reasons and also fall apart for all kinds of reasons. I think CPJ’s system requires good execution, and good execution requires focus on every single play. Some of that blame can certainly be laid at the feet of the coaches. If they see a lack of focus, take action. But at the end of the day, the players have to execute with focus on every play.

“BOWLS? You’re talking BOWLS?”

The team I saw on Saturday doesn’t deserve to go to ANY bowl. They better gain some focus and energy or they won’t win another regular season game this year, and, YES I do think they can lose to Duke the way they are playing. I can see them losing big to VT and UM and a demoralized squad taking the field at Grant Field only to lose to the Dukies.

The spread triple confused at least one head coach: Brian Kelly of Notre Dame.

“The offense was so good that Notre Dame Coach Brian Kelly insisted at halftime that Navy had put in the veer offense and had run plays it hadn’t run all year. Other than a heavy goal-line set, the Mids did nothing different than they had been doing all season.”

That’s a quote from an article by John Feinstein of the Washington Post.

Living in Kansas, I can tell you that the KU nation is THRILLED that they got to play GTU so they could get at least one 1-A win this year. During the game, the 5 minutes I heard on radio were saying that ND State’s defense was better so KU should be able to run (pre game) and begging Nesbitt to throw the ball (in the 3rd) on a 3rd and 8. They figured GTU’s only chance was to run since Nesbitt can’t throw.

I’m giving GT the benefit of doubt and calling it 35-17 VT. The atmosphere alone at Lane Stadium is like nothing else in the ACC and yes that is including Clemson and FSU. GT does not have the talent on either side of the ball to line up with VT and overcome the scenario and win. Absolutely no chance. Having said that I do think they will rebound and beat Miami and Duke putting them in line for the Charlotte bowl.

I don’t think they will go to the Music Bowl against a Miss State team who they played last year. Charlotte is their most likely destination. Car Care bowl that is not acc champ game.

Clemson has 9 returning D starters, 2 are NFL 1st rounders,
2 more that will likely get drafted off that D.

Clemson’s Defense is MUCH BETTER than VT’s Defense.

We’ll find out how comparatively good VT is when
Clemson plays BC this weekend. I think Clemson will beat BC
by a better score than VT’s 19-0 over BC.

FSU: Doak-Campbnell: 84,000 seats

seriously, outside of Duke, VPI is probably the most likely win on the rest of our regular season schedule

In CPJ’s first season, GT went to VT and nearly won. Last year when VPI came in with their top 5 ranking, GT won….and has “great” as Bud Foster is, he clearly saw something in VPI’s last performance against GT that he felt the need to consult Iowa….and let’s toss in they are starting 8 new players on defense

and again CPJ has never loss two games in a row at GT

Trust me GT fans, Clemson and that Bowers kid will be the BEST by far d-line that GT will see for the rest of the season including the bowl

VPI will be favored but no more than 7 points.

1. If your defense sucked last year with those players, odds are it will suck again next year with those players
2. Even if there is a YOY improvement in those returning starters, they are now learing a new defensive scheme

In VPI’s case, their defense couldn’t stop GT last year and now they are starting 8 new players who have likely never played meaningful minutes against GT

Going into this game thinking VPI is going to “shut down” GT’s offense is nothing more “band wagon fan mentality”

09- ACC Championship BUT we all know now that has become a liability with almost no one in America giving it any value. Plus, in the Urange GT was humiliated again …………like UGA did to them in 8 of the previous 9 years and soon to be 9 of the previous 10.
2010- Nothing and the Bone been figured out and countered with D players that stay home and that can run and lock up on the tackle. Alos, the D players know to avoid the knees by GT’s linemen and they can better get to the ball carrier.

NO …………CPJ will be at 3.5 year mark come next October and we all know that every 3.5 years GT has to get a new coach. It is just the way that it has been since Dodd was run off by Vince Dooley.

So far ………… the CPJ era has been unremarkable. 6–6 is hwere GT is headed this year and no bowl wants a 6-6 ACC team. I mean most bowls do not even want a 10-1 ACC team, much less 6-6.

I have to respond to your comments on the Sun Bowl in El Paso. This is an incredible bowl of roughly 80 years…one that players consistently place amongst the best bowls in terms of how they are treated. The area is completely safe and southern New Mexico (Las Cruces and NMSU is only 30 minutes west/nw of the Sun Bowl) is a beautiful area of the country to explore (Gila Natl Forest, White Sands, Ole Mesilla, etc.) I have been going to these areas regularly since 1997 and they are COMPLETELY SAFE. I will also point out that I never cross the border into Juarez…different world. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the El Paso/Las Cruces area…although I do recommend staying in Las Cruces.

I will start at 1950 …….. GT since 1953 fan. Counting 1951, how many major bowls has GT been to since 1950? I will say 2 in the early 50s, then NOTHING UNTIL 67 in the Urange Bowl ( a loss to Florida by humiliated Bobby Dodd ) and nothing again until the ( really minor bowl then ) 1990 Citrus and then NOTHING until the 09 Urange Bowl.

SO, how many is that GT fans? 5? 4? over like 60 years??? We are talking name brand bowls, not the Loud & Smokey Muffler Bowl in which GT in 2010 will attend. Not the Micron Bowl not the Blue Carpet Bowl.

Back in the day Rose, Sugar, Urange Bowl, Cotton Bowl were it, followed by many lower level bowls, like the Sun Bowl, Liberty, the Bluebonnet and the Tangerine and the Gator ( GT’s historic home ) and with the late 60s, the Peach Bowl came into existence.

GT is small ball and has been since 1951.

Hi JW, let us try it again

Sir, I was blogging about GT’s bowl record since 1950. Now, if um, ah, you prefer to place UGA in this same scenario ………. go ahead. Same era ……….from 1950 to 09.

Count only the big boy bowls of that era: Rose, Sugar, Cotton and Orange.

How many trips to each bowl for UGA and GT? Hmm??

Now ………..let us also go ahead and count the minor bowls ……….Gator, Chic Fil a( PEACH ) and the Weedeater/ Independence, the Liberty, Sun, Bluebonnet, The Aloha, the the Music City, etc. How many MINOR BOWLS for each school, sir??

I rest my case ……………UGA wins either way …….major bowl invites or minor.

How is AL Groh working out for y’all? That 1965 NFL ring doing the trick with 2011 recruits??? They will be REAL impressed when he tells em that he once met Johnny Unitas. They will ask “Unitas ………who is that??? AAAAAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

All Tech fans wanting to go bowling need to get some bowling shoes. Get those yellow and gold ones for your bowling alley trip so you can represent your school in grand fashion. Run by the Varsity and try one of paul’s fried fish sandwiches along with a frosted orange. BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

jw gt only won by 5 last year and with tech being much worse than va tech this year look for va tech to win this year. tech offense is no where near as good as it was last year when thy played. va tech offense will control the ball better too as techs defense is worse this year too. so with va tech being being up by 14 points early to make ga tech play from behind ,this game could get ugly quick. same when you guys play mia. tech has way too many div 1aa players to hang with va tech and mia this year. also james madison would give a ga tech a good game too so you cant use that execuse or logic on why ga tech will beat va tech. your team is in deep trouble

Well, I would just like to start by saying I hope for the orangebowl, but… My second choice, and is even plausible, is for GT to play in the humanitarian bowl in Boise Idaho. Many ACC teams have played there in the past, including Georgia Tech. As a GT fan in Boise, I would like to enjoy watching a game in person.

Really, AJC? Sounds to me like you’re just jealous that Charlotte is cleaner and more classy than the sprawling, stressful, ghetto metropolis that is now the city of Atlanta. It may not be a great bowl, I agree, but don’t knock the city or the venue. At this point, I will be happy to see Tech in a bowl, period.

Nesbitt can’t pass.. we’ve got to fix that before we can win 1 more game.. bowl talk is about like “Nesbitt for Heisman”

I think Tech can turn things around. This offense is talented and at times nearly unstoppable. The defense will soon learn its role and people will quit trying to critize Groh. I just hope the fish don’t burn in the fryer. BAHAHAHA!!!

GT will beat VT, Miami and absolutely thump the UGA thugs. GT will have a pretty nice bowl while the mutts stay home and watch us on a snowy TV in a musty trailer.

We were told by CPJ that with his acquisition of Al Groh, that GT could now recruit the 4 and 5 star boys that plan on being in the NFL. He, afterall, has that NFL ring. Right? What is the date on it?? 1962?

Groh can go into the recruit’s home and flash that ring and say, “Momma, I knew John Unitas and Mercury Morris and once saw Vince Lombardi” and the mother or the “uncle of the kid, who is all of 34 years old will say WHO???

The recruit will not relate nor will his family ………….they were born after Al was in the league. He is tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo old GT.

Doug – Something here needs to be said about the play of the offensive line. A tech buddy of mine had me thinking when Johnson said he was playing freshmen and sophmores at Clemson. Tech has Bedford, Barrick and Krish as RS Srs, then Claytor as RS JR, then 12 underclassmen. What really hurt from last year to this year was losing Yandell and Gilbert because they could not get into Grad School at Tech. Losing Hudson did not help either, so those 3 RS Sophs would have been RS Jrs this year and we Could have had 3 Sr and 4 Jr linemen to go with the underclassmen.

What ever happened to Hudson?

Can I maybe go bowling with Mark Richt? Then maybe we can go swimming and diving. That would be better than going to the Independence Bowl.

You nerds absolutely kill me….you snicker to the point milk comes out your nose talking about national championships and football factories, winning streaks and dynasties, while the team can barely get it’s defense off the field, and now you wanna’ talk about going bowling….right now, I’m ashamed to even accept a bowl bid….

Firstly, why are you trolling on GT’s board? Shouldn’t you be concerned about your own team and it’s terrible record against it’s opponent?

Secondly, it is no secret that GT is rebuiling this year. Anyone (even delusional UGA fans) who believes that switching DCs and schemes will yield a solid defense in just one season (actually CAG hasn’t even been at GT for a year) is not being realistic.

GT has a realistic shot at finishing 7-5 or 8-4. While this result will not yield a good bowl, I’m sure even you will admit that it is a lot better than how the dogs will likely end up (i.e., 5-7 worst case, 6-6 best case)

“The Chick-fil-A Bowl would HAVE TO choose between the Yellow Jackets, who played in the game two years ago, or Virginia Tech”

“The bowl is SUPPOSED TO take the ACC’s No. 2 team”

Doug,

The bowl gets second pick. They can pick any bowl qualifying team within the ACC after the champ. You’re dumb.

That’s not how it works. They can take either the team that finished second, or any team within a game in the standings…something similar to that.
So, while I won’t argue that I’m dumb, I will argue about the selection process.

I am going to tell Paul to scrap the fish fry. We need to look at a clam bake or broiled fish meal. Something real bland like our football team. I am having fans throw things at me and I am afraid it might hurt my prized ring. I saw Wesleysquatwhat throwing things like a child would. Of course that is what he is…. a punk. BAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

Guys, this is my first post on the Tech blog. I am a dog fan, but have always cheered for Tech other than 1 week each year. Before you cast stones at the UGA fans for trolling this blog, pay a visit to ANY uga site. Tech fans are always there blasting UGA, often pretending to be Florida fans.

I hope this is the minority. . .I am a UGA fan who wishes well for Tech. I think it will be a great game.
Good luck until then.
