Tech’s path back to the ACC title game
Although Georgia Tech (5-3, 3-2 in the ACC) is two losses behind Virginia Tech and Miami in the ACC’s Coastal Division, it is still possible for the Yellow Jackets to advance to Charlotte and the Dec. 4 conference championship game.
Here is one scenario:
The Yellow Jackets must win out, beating Virginia Tech, Miami and Duke. Defeating the Hokies and Hurricanes would give the Yellow Jackets the first tiebreaker in the two-team or three-team scenario, which is the head-to-head match-up. A loss also would be Miami’s second in conference play, bringing it level with Tech. Miami also has games remaining against Maryland and Virginia, but losing either seems unlikely.
The Hokies would have one loss, but still have games at North Carolina and at Miami. They also must host Virginia. Losing to the Cavaliers doesn’t seem likely, but Virginia Teach stumbling on the road to the Tar Heels or the Hurricanes could happen.
So, despite Tech’s two losses within the conference, they can still defend their title. And, though it seems unlikely when considering how it played in the loss to Clemson, it’s not an unthinkable possibility either.
What say you? Do you think Tech can defeat either the Hokies or Hurricanes?
I think Tech has a better chance to win a shootout with the Hokies, because their defense’s front line is built more on speed than power, a la Clemon’s or Miami’s, or Iowa’s last year. But that’s just my opinion as of now. That’s also assuming that Tech has its special teams issues worked out.

WTF, if you are insinuating that the only way to be a Tech fan is to be born a Tech fan, then you make yourself sound like an elitist fool. If you are saying that you don’t develop a sense of school pride at whatever institution you attend, then again you sound like a fool. I have white and gold flowing in my veins. That’s our problem. We keep making our plans for the ACC Championship game and instead we need to learn to block, tackle, catch, etc.

Don’t see it happening this year. This team is just not coming together. We have not been able to overcome the player losses and early entries from last year. I’ll hope for the best but I’m not holding my breath.

Attention Everyone: Social Elitist Gathering at the home of WTF.
Note: No one may mention that school down the road in athens. It is blasphemous to mention your in-state rival. Also, do not invite friends. If they were not born Tech fans, they cannot be Tech fans. If you have any questions, feel free to ask WTF.
For those of you more warm-hearted, sensible fans, this might be an off week, but we have a big game next Thursday. All are welcome to enjoy the game and cheer the jackets on to victory. We have a tough schedule the rest of the way, and the team will need support. This might not be an ACC-championship caliber team but they deserve our support every game. Basketball is also coming up soon. This might be a tough year with the loss of our big men from last year. But hopefully they can have a successful season. Invite your friends. However, do not let them around WTF. He can be highly judgmental.

Walter Hill…You should know lots about ASS kickings as you get yours kicked quite frequently against Florida don’t you? I bet your foaming at the mouth since they aren’t worth a crap this year and you might end up 6-6 and your on top of the world? Since the SEC is almost a Professional type football conference why do you worry so much about a very small conference who focus is on educating their student athletes and giving them a bright future outside of sports. Since the ACC is a much smaller conference what’s the big deal about beating a much smaller school? Football is all you have isn’t it Walter? What ya been doing since they stopped you from pee peeing and pooping at tailgate functions? Walter…even a dog won’t crap in its own house!

I don’t see this team winning out in the ACC. It just seems like the position coaches aren’t pulling their load when it comes to getting the players flat out knowing what to do. I see way too many linemen whiffing on blocks. WR’s aren’t on the same page with the QB. A-bacls don’t finish runs an push the secondary. Instead, they just run out of bounds.
I give the D a bit of a pass given the first year of the 3-4, but it is clear our talent (ie size and strength) needs to be better. Iowa, Georgia, and Clemson just destroyed us on the lines.

I love these blogs! They are better than any soap opera out there.
If the moon and the stars line up and if I wash my car twice tomorrow and if… then Tech might play for the ACC Championship. We sound like the pack rabid dawg fans hoping to see the SEC Championship.
Folks, It ain’t gonna happen for either team.
Tech has doo-dooed all over itself this year. Some of it has been Johnson’s fault. Some of it has just plain been ‘WTF?’
However, before we burn Johnson in effigy, let us remember that Chan ‘7-5′ Gailey, and his NFL-style offense, didn’t light up many scoreboards. I still believe that, over the course, Johnson will put up good numbers. If not, then we hire someone else. This ain’t rocket science.

Plain and simple, Paul Johnson has not done a good job this year. You can talk about talent all you want, the BL is there is enough talent to beat Kansas/NC State/Clemson…he did a poor job getting the kids ready for those games, especially Kansas and Clemson.

Guys, I made a mistake. I gave WTF too much credit. I thought he was a socially-inept, uneducated Tech fan. I was wrong. It is clear to me that I spent my time arguing with someone who has the maturity and intelligence of a 12 year old. However, given the fact that he is capable of getting on this blog and inciting some of us Tech fans, it is clear to me, he is a 14 year old UGA fan. No longer give him your attention. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. Last year, many “true” Tech fans (maybe even WTF??) indicated no way in Hades that Tech would beat Clem twice…but Tech did just that! VT was almost in the same category…Tech would never beat them…and most of US thought Tech surely would beat a dog in Atlanta…so you never know.
