Georgia Tech dropped out of the Associated Press and USA Today college football polls that were released on Sunday. It’s the first time the Yellow Jackets are unranked since last year’s loss to Miami in Week 3. Tech bounced back to re-enter at No. 25 the next week, beginning a string of 14 consecutive weeks of being ranked.
Tech (1-1), the defending ACC champ, was defeated by Kansas 28-25 on Saturday. The Jackets were No. 15 in the AP poll and No. 17 in the USA Today poll.
The ACC got worse news: The league had five teams in the Associated Press preseason Top 25 poll that came out in August: Virginia Tech, Miami, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Florida State. In the newest poll, just one is left: No. 17 Miami. The Hurricanes are also 17th in the USA Today poll.
