Our o-line is really young, but our d-line is filled with veterans. I think we could see a complete shift from last year where our offensive front could be shaky but our defensive front can apply real pressure this year. Also I’m sure I’m not the only one shocked by the fact that tarrant won’t be starting. I know he had some coverage issues last year but still he should beat out a freshman especially with his play-making abilities.

Am I the only one surprised that Terrant is not a starter? He had all the big interceptions last season. Wow. Terrant cant play over Cooper Taylor?

The surprise for me (excepting the Tarrant issue) is Lyons over Cox at A-Back. I’ve always liked Preston and am glad to see that he performed so well this summer.

Did anyone watch the Orange Bowl? Iowa ran 8 of the 1st 9 plays at Tarrant. They had a full month to prepare and found Tarrant to be he weak link. Unless he is greatly improved he should be sitting. I believe in the coach’s and the decisions they make. Go Jackets!!

No, I believe our O-Line will be stronger than ever. This is an experienced group that has been in the system for all three years. Well except for Will Jackson who has had an excellent camp. Coach has been talking about how well these guys are competing. I see it as great sign that we have some great talent on the Flats when they beat out Terrant and Edwards. But, I really think it is just a depth chart and that everyone on that list will be getting some significant playing time. Look at the chart. When a player gets tired he is backed up with someone that is just as good maybe better on any given day. Not drop off. On Offense and Defense we finally have the depth we need to crush folks. Now we just need to go out and do it.

That middle is gonna be solid too with Kyle Jackson and Jefferson back together like the 09 season.

Impressive group of players……….the more time players spend with Coach PJ & the offensive staff, the better players they become on the football field.

I truly believe we have a similar set of coaches on the defensive side of the ball; time will tell, but I hope the defensive staff has these players ready……..new system might require soem time to gel and play fast without “thinking” about position and responsibilities.

This year might be awesome; however, tough tough schedule & new D could spell trouble…….I really hope not and I have a good feeling that GT will end up with 9-11 wins! The future is so stink’n bright with these coaches. the offensive & defensive schemes AND the talented players signing with GT. These coaches will mold the team into a force in NCAA football and the next decade or so GT will be playing some stellar football!

Go GT!

Not sure I ever seen Terrant take a play off but burned a few times yes. He is a risk taker but I like his style of play. High energy, we need him on the field somewhere.

People keep talking about what we lost last year. Only 4 guys. We will lose a lot of starters after this season. Perhaps as many as 8-9. I think with nesbitt, we can win another acc and possibly go undefeated. Next year will be tougher imo with a new qb.

Hey BUG ZAPPER welcome to our blog. Can you confirm that UGA has moved the location our their preseason preperation to inside the wire at the Athens-Clarke County jail?

August 29th, 2010

Hey insect lovers…. you had the best chance you’re ever gonna get to beat the dawgs and you weren’t man enough to beat the worst UGA team in a decade, at home with two weeks to prepare. If you have’t caught on yet CPJ dosn’t have a ver good record outside the ACC except for playing weaklings like Vandy and Miss St. ( see LSU and Iowa)

Just remember, no matter who the coach is at tek, no matter how many UGA players get arrested for traffic violations or underaged drinking it doesn’t change anything…. you can’t beat us on the football field. Think CPJ will ever win a bowl game at tek? Doesn’t look like it

Wow, if a season was ever more ripe for adding another national championship to the Flats, I haven’t seen it. OSU is #2 gets beat by Miami. Boise State #3 gets beat by Va. Tech. UNC beats LSU. UGA just has a winning season. We play them all. Yes, we need to go undefeated, and Oh, that puts us in the ACC Championship with say FSU who beats Oklahoma. Wow, there is no reason why we wouldn’t be in the Top 2 of the country by then. Well GT, if you want it, it is there for the taking. Let Go!!! Go Jackets!! I believe in you.

Have to agree with some on here. Tarrant needs to be on the field. He can make plays and Score. The D needs to make stops and get the other team to punt as much ae we can so Tarrant can get the ball in his hands a lot.

Tarrant is a ball hawk, but a weak tackler. (remember Deion Sanders?) I hear this FR Johnson can lay the wood, which is what a safety needs to do. Especially if our front seven don’t improve a lot from last year.

goal is for 14 wins an undefeated season, I assure you that is the team’s goal, CPJ and this team would not set lesser goals, Tarrant is a good player and it will work itself out. I am surprised more GT fans aren’t more concerned with Kansas. One mor week. GO Jackets

Tarrant gets burned in coverage and is a weak tackler. He is also probably the best athlete on the team, we need to find a spot for him (besides punt team).

I think the least likely of 1Jacket’s game scenarios is VT beating Boise State. If it were later in the season it would be more likely. VT is said by some to have 5 starters returning on defense. Only 2 were 13-game starters. The other “3″ returning starters had 8, 5 and 4 starts in 2009. I’ll give them 3-1/2 returning starters. It helps against Boise St. that one of the full starters is CB Rashad Carmichael. The other cornerback from 2009 Chris Hill with 2 starts. He may or may not start.

I’m really interested to see how Ohio State will handle Miami’s enormous OL. Their 2-deep is bigger than most NFL teams. Can they beat speed? Is “enormous” better than “big and tough”, ala Iowa last year?

All of these will be very interesting games. VT needs to prove me wrong.
