Georgia Tech football players Roddy Jones and Kyle Jackson were recently selected as co-presidents of the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
The board is made up of 22 athletes, at least one from each sport Tech offers, and represent the athletes’ voice in the direction of the Georgia Tech Athletics Association. The co-presidents will attend the GTAA board meetings and currently have one vote in procedural matters. It’s being discussed if Jones and Jackson will each get to vote.
It’s the first time in the board’s history that co-presidents have been selected. Darryl Richard was the last football player to serve as president.
There are two other football players on the SAAB: Jason Peters chairs the community service arm and Stephen Mann is also a member.

Just curious: Do non-scholarship sports and “club” sports have a seat on this S-A Advisory Board? (for example, lacrosse)

Kyle is wanting to go to law school. I bet he will enjoy this experience.

Everytime I’ve heard him speak, Roddy Jones has come across as extrememly intelligent and well spoken. Good for him and Kyle…
