Bay-Bay’s tweets confuse folks in Denver

Demaryius Thomas’ tweets (may require registration) caused some confusion in Denver, apparently.

Thomas, a former wide receiver at Georgia Tech, broke his foot while training for the NFL Combine.

He tweeted that he was about to get some X-rays. A few hours later he tweeted “Sad.”

People put two and two together and thought he got some bad news.

It turns out, the tweets weren’t related. He subsequently removed them to try and eliminate the confusion.

A spokesperson for the Broncos told ESPN that the the X-rays were fine.

For more on Thomas, please read this.

Here’s something on former Tech safety Morgan Burnett.

Here’s this morning’s blog:

Some of you may have read that Georgia’s athletics assocation finished the year with a profit. Tech’s year-ending financial statement won’t be available until August.

I think it’s safe to say that nobody here particulary cares about how Georgia’s athletics association finished.

why link to a page requiring registration without any info on what the article is about? a summary would help readers know if they should bother pursuing this story. if it is a story. i have no idea yet.

Not really enjoying the Twitter version of the Blog. It reminds me of the commercial where dad is tweeting “I am sitting on the porch…heh, heh, heh”.

Sounds like Bay-Bay DROPPED THE BALL with thay Tweet. Thanks I’ll be here all week.

Tech athletics might turn a profit? I think I speak for all UGA fans who bought up your season tickets to attend 30-24 when I say, you’re welcome. A little graditude might be in order Techies. I won’t hold my breath on that.

errrr, dawgfan-

breathe is spelled with an “e”. that is spelled “that”, not “thay”. gratitude isn’t spelled “graditude”.

no comment on the lack of intelligence displayed in the rest of your post. but keep posting on the georgia tech blog please, it makes the rest of my day go by faster.

dawgfan, despite having to read through your spelling errors, are you aware that last year’s GT-UGA game actually had one of the lowest Georgia fan turnouts in recent memory? If you were there you’d have seen that there was far less red in that PACKED stadium than the Gailey years. There are two reasons – 1) dawgs thought there was a slim chance they’d win after the Kentucky debacle and 2) Tech’s ticketing agency pulled some new tricks with ticket availability to prevent the familiar phenomenon you refer to of dawgs buying Jacket season tickets just for the Hate game. Except for the loss, it was a much better game atmosphere for Tech than hosting the dawgs has been in the past. Fewer of them on campus and fewer in the stands.

Kam, I’m sorry DeVry’s campus wasn’t too nice for you. Your jealousy, while well placed, is manifesting in stupid statements. Ask any school in this state what they think of Tech’s campus. The only people that might be able to say they have a nicer place probably prefer rural campuses like UGA or Southern. I’ll give ya Emory or Agnes Scott for the old-architecture crowd. Georgia Tech is a nice place especially in the Spring. Not that reason or an actual visit to campus would be enough to inform your argument . Jealousy will do that to people.

The GT turnout on this blog is getting to be like one of the semi-yearly beatdowns at the Joke. Similar to your pee-wee football program, the only reason this blog exists is because of UGA and its fans. Both would die a slow death if not for the “rivalry,” and I use that term loosely, graciously afforded to you by the state’s only relevant program.

Clarification, ask Clemson and VT how relevant we are. Ya know, those two programs that are usually ranked decently in the preseason and managed to beat SEC teams in bowls last year? Yeah, they know about playing in “the Joke.” There’s a reason that stadium’s the winningest in Division 1…and it aint the free hotdogs. Speaking of hotdogs, it’s great for you that your dogs got hot that night and fired up the running game. I’d say that’s your stellar O-line and our lack of good linebacker coaching. You know GT is a real team or else you’d not even be here. But we’re on your mind it seems.

Another excuse ……………..over the last 50 years, they have really mounted up.

GT, ‘go taliban?’ Really?! You’re aware of Georgia Tech’s strong American military tradition, right? In my opinion saying that Tech supports terrorism is taking the rivalry too far. You don’t go to football games shouting, “I want to kill you!” do you? You make yourself look like a fool.

Lockheed to Navy Hornet, you just buzzed the Varsity. You just buzzed the Varsity, return to the Navy base here at Lockheed. You two will be grounded.

dah foot,

A mutt fan talking about excuses? You probably don’t realize, due to your inferior brain size and power, what you are saying. Allow me: What were your excuses for “the drought?” What about that fumble in the 90’s? And as far as the last 50 years go, I’ve been making excuses to everyone I meet trying to save face for the South because of inbred rednecks from the Athens scho… bars. I’m sure my ancestors were doing the same circa 1785 (that means “around 1785″ since I’m sure you had no idea, again, due to your inferior intelligence).

Make some excuses for me. Why didn’t ya’ll end #1 after starting that way?

“UGA Football 8-5″

Boy the Techies sure love to run their big mouths about that 8-5 record, but I can’t get a single one to tell me which side their team falls on. Not one Techie. They just want to talk about Shreveport and beating Clemson.

GSU Eagles ………….we were on the Ga coast in the 1700s, when the French settled that area and the local coastal Ga rivers were then called the Somme and the Seine.

ACC and Shreveport

May 30th, 2010
1:16 pm

To my knowledge, The Independence Bowl has picked up the second place ACC team for the next few years. If that is true and the Gator Bowl will go at large ………….wow ……….what does that say about the ACC? Last season, the Gator passed on Clemson, because they were horrible and had been beaten by nobodies.

Afterall, the “Independence Bowl is where losers end up”.

Go jacket baseball team. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Another swoon is underway.

Yes, IT IS the Independence for ACC 2010

May 30th, 2010
1:24 pm

Well now …………..the ACC IS NOW AFFILIATED WITH THE Weedeater Bowl in Shreveport. I just went to their web site and it was confirmed. AKA Independence Bowl

LOL ……………..cannot wait until the Tech fans and the ACC fans begin to brag about how the Independence Bowl is now the 3rd of 4th best bowl. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Tech fans dining in Shreveport’s Shoney’s for fried shrimp night will be so funny. It is 2 for1 night and kids eat free. AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA

Question is:

I’ve gotta say, none of my fellow classmates and alumni can take a joke. Why does everyone have to get on the defensive if a UGA fan makes a joke.

“Sounds like Bay-Bay DROPPED THE BALL with thay Tweet. Thanks I’ll be here all week.”

That was probably the funniest thing i’ve read in these comments in a while, and you gotta cut it down and pick apart the grammar? Grow up kiddies.
