Georgia Tech’s T-day game will start at 11:30 a.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium on Saturday. The game was originally supposed to begin at 12:30 p.m., but concerns about the weather prompted the change.
The fan festivities will start at 11 a.m. as originally scheduled.
There’s a 50-percent chance of rain at noon on Saturday, increasing to 60 percent by 2 p.m., according to the the website weather.com.
The T-day game is an intra-squad scrimmage traditionally held as the finale to the spring practice schedule.

Will the Dogs (I refuse to spell it like an inbred Athens mutt) even have enough players to play this year? Seems like everyone is either in jail, arrested, or kicked off the team.
Even thugU (Miami) is staying out of trouble less than the Dogs. I can’t imagine being the laughing stock of the SEC and the entire NCAA. It’s times like these that I am happy to be a Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fan!

This is great. You’re aware Tech is a safer campus than a lot of big football schools, right? Check the crime stats on Ohio State, for example. Atlanta as a city is ranked well behind Columbus Ohio in terms of dangerous places to live. And the Tech campus is far safer than the city at large. It’s par for the course, but has the AJC reporting every stinkin’ incident to make it look like a big story.

I think most Tech fans would like to be back in the SEC. Some argue that the conference’s academics wouldn’t match like those of the ACC, but I still have no idea why that matters for sports (other than scholarship requirements). I think Tech should not hesitate if offered.

I’d be really excited to renew the rivalry with Bama, for one. We’re still in their fight song. And Auburn’s been disappointed the last 3 or so times we’ve played them. Tennessee needs yet another rival, too, right? We could renew that one. They stole the Wreck back in the day.

I like dish it out to you Tech fans.(and I can take it as well).but the bottom line is you belong in the SEC and if you came back it would be great news for your football team and bad news for UGA recruiting. Some guys just want to live in the big city and tech would be the only team where they could do that (I dont include Vandy). It could be a great advantage.

Slobber, actually, I haven’t been to Athens in probably 10 years. My comment was meant as a dig, just like your response was. I have walked all over and around the Tech campus many times with no reservations at all. I just don’t do it past about 10PM. But you can go to any relatively large metropolitan area in the country and encounter the same problems.

Also, there are SO many campus services to ride back in taxi’s, shuttles, and other means that to walk alone is to prove your idiocy…i won’t say they’re asking for trouble, but being in any city it would be stupid to do such a thing. Those are the kids that are targeted. It’s mostly off-campus too. On campus is heavily patrolled, well-lit, and there are a lot of people up late…it’s safest to party on campus (Greek neighborhood, for example, and walk back to the apartment/dorm with friends).

I wasn’t much in favor of joining the ACC to begin with, because other than Clemson, Tech had no natural rivals there. FSU’s joining helped, but still Tech’s traditional rivals all are in the SEC, and it would be great to play them all again on a regular basis. I could not do anything but GOOD for Tech.

Slobber, big of you to say that we belong in the SEC. I think a lot of older fans would agree. Some of the younger generation actually seems to preach a rising of the ACC as the best way to lift Tech’s respect. They go the route of academic superiority and all that. I, on the other hand, like history and tradition. You put Tech back in the SEC, and all of the sudden we could pick up where we left off…grow the fan base, put all the traditions back in the right context, and elevate the respect for the whole State of Georgia.

What the younger fans don’t realize is that back when Tech was in the SEC, Grant Field was the largest stadium in the southeast, outside of Miami and New Orleans. Tech had more wins, more fans, and lots more money than did UGAG.

Tech vs. Alabama

I have mixed feelings about the going to SEC fantasy. It would be great for football no doubt. But basketball still means something at tech and to the fan base. And I would hate to lose the rivarlies we have there. I do like what D-Rad is doing with the scheduling of SEC opponents for football. Bama, and Ole Miss coming up in the next 6 yrs I think. If you can run the table one of the yrs with Bama on your slate you should have a chance at the title game. Would like to see D-Rad continue this trend and rotate games with Sec schools. Good exposure, Good chance to get a big win and keeps with the history of Tech and the SEC. I just dont think that the ACC with get to the point where it has 3 or so teams a yr. that are capable of winning it all but could see a team with a strong out of conf. sched. running the table and getting its shot.

I for one would love it. Tech will have basketball regardless. But the bottom line, Tradition begs for this. Tech needs the SEC bad. More fanbase, bigger attendance, better players. It’s that simple. Keep the Clemson game because that’s a big rival but Tech historically is SEC. Make it happen D-Rad.

recruits are watching and taking notice. An offense that is in the top 5 nationally in rushing yards and their best running back isn’t even a blip on the radar???? Bad news for the thugs from North Ave.
just so sad

The best Dwyer and his worshipers can hope for is that NOT A SINGLE NFL front office bought the drug excuse the cheats from Tech tried to sell. Because if he’s falling this far on his skill set….JUST WOW……

Better fans – UGA
Hotter women – UGA
Better campus – UGA
Leader in wins between nerds and UGA – UGA
Longer bowl losing streak – Tech

Yea, Tech is a much better school. To the UGA fans out there they say what they say because they are nothing but jealous. That’s a fact but they will never admit it.

“Dogs”, “Dawgs”, whatever. People speak the way their parents and friends do, for the most part. That being said, I think Bobby Dodd’s pronunciation of “Georgie” was funny as heck.

Boddy Dodd? The same Bobby Dodd that bolted the SEC since he went 1-6 against the Bear, and 3-4 against UGA during the same time period? LOL!!! What a coward

Mama Says,
You seem to forget. UGA players get in trouble for drinking underage and traffic violations. Tech is the one that plays drug dealers, rapists and apparently drug users like Dwyer

There were more A-Backs on the field today than fans in the stadium….Dwyer is not a drug user….Tech players do not use drugs while in school at Tech….Joe Hamilton took up marijuana when he played in the Arena Football League…Tech men have true character…..

It was so rainy today at Historic Grant Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium that the only dry place was between Paul Johnson’s second and third chins.
